Jace smiled as Carter slept soundly, listening to Anika singing as she bathed the twins. Humming as she cleaned them, he could hear them giggling, he adored them, and was so surprised by how much he actually liked Alex. He hadn’t ever wanted a daughter, he thought they were weak, after learning he had a female twin who died before they had even turned one, but Alex had made him realize how much he actually needed her in his life. He would teach her to be strong, and he would be happy doing it.

Anika walked out with the two in her arms, they were playing with her blonde hair. The babies looked a lot more like her, Alex had slightly darker hair while Harlee had blond. Both of them had variations of blue eyes. He smirked taking Harlee and getting him ready for the day.

That was when she heard a knock on the door. She opened. “Lia?”

“Jace asked me to come,” she said, a smile on her face.

“Oh yeah. Lia is going to help you back up some boxes, and me and the boys are going to be going to the city again.” He replied as Lia took the child from him.

“Wait you are leaving again?”

“Yes Im sorry.” Jace replied. “Dont worry, I will be back in no time I promise.”

“But Ja-.”

“Soon love.” He replied kissing her forehead, then he left. She sighed setting the children in their cribs for their daily nap.

“Thanks Lia, for helping. I really can’t wait for a new house but I never saw my life turning out like this.”

“Its alright.” She replied back. “I am glad to help you. So, I am almost ready to get a husband, and I cannot wait.” Anika stiffened, new family members. She forgot about the twins age.

“Ah yeah so uhm. You are going to be getting a husband, so are you going to be harsh to him?”

“My plan is whip him into shape early then I wont have to worry about it later.”

“Oh? How do you plan on doing that?” She asked arcing an eyebrow, Carter rolled in his sleep.

“Let him run, cut off a toe or finger, he doesn’t need them all.” She replied, Anika let out a small whine of discomfort. She had forgotten about that rule. Running would leave you with a few less appendages.

“How early are you planning on getting pregnant?” Anika asked, concerned.

“As early as possible.” She replied. “Only a few months after him and I meet at least.” She smirked. “Why are you asking all of these?”

“I just want to ensure you are safe, and not rushing to quickly.”

“Its alright, dont worry about it. He and I will be perfect together forever. I also am planning on letting my brother share him. And I get to play with his wife, if I ask for it, I don’t really want to really do much of that, but what I can do is teach her how to please my brother. Him being happy is one of the things I always want to do. I enjoy making him happy you know.”

“Yeah..yeah of course.” She replied back. “I think you just need to make sure you dont go to fast.” Anika said back. “You know we just have to worry about going to fast, he might not adjust as quickly as I did.”

“Oh yeah I can see that.” She replied. “I just cannot wait, you know how Jace instantly loved you. I hope I instantly loved you? Well that is how I hope I will be.”

“Well isn’t that..sweet?” She asked, she then realized it could be perfect, all three of them could escape together, the three of them could carry her babies. “Well I hope you enjoy your husband, whenever he comes.” She giggled, and the two of them finished packing up the boxes and bags.

“Only a house over, I don’t really know why we had to box it all up.”

“Its alright, Jace just wants to be able to sort it all. We are going to having a house party too.”

“Its sweet, you all are to kind to me.”

“You seemed to have fallen into our family, but we all think it was fate, that you were meant to be here.”

“I know..its alright. Its just..why don’t we take the kids outside. Enjoy ourselves for a while.”

“I actually like that idea, but the kids are napping.”

“Oh yeah they are, well what would you like to do?”

“Well tell me, do you know why they went back to the city. Jace told me tha-“

“Whatever he said is exactly what they are doing, you know as Jace’s wife everything he does for you, and says to you is the truth.” Lia said back, almost vile.

“Im..sorry. I just worry about him, and whats going on.” She replied. “Are you alright Lia?”

“Yes, its just I want to be a good wife to my husband, be able to prove to him I am a force to be reckoned with and everything like that.”

“Why wouldn’t you be?” Anika asked.

“I am a women, I am small. I am going to have to keep him tied down a lot more then I would like until he stops fighting with me. He could easily pick me up, break things if he is angry or scared.”

“You can kill people, he probably would be to afraid of that to try anything. I know I was.” Anika replied as she carefully picked up Carter who had began to wake. Babbling and saying momma, dadda.

Lia smirked. “That is a good thought. I honestly cant wait for him to arrive.” She said as she watched the twins as they slept. “These two are so cute.”

“I do love them, and I am so glad Jace was okay with Alex.”

“Thats awesome, ever since we were little he didn’t want a daughter.” She said. “But he was always soft around children. So uhmm the men will be back by the morning I think. So tonight what should we do with the kids, cause I want to take you down to the lake for a swim.”

Anika thought about it, his mother would watch them. “Mom will watch them.” She slightly gasped, she had never called her mother, she really was going mad, she really was falling for this family. “Let me go ask her.” She ran down to ask her.

“Hey, uhmm.. mom.” She said, seeing what her reaction would be.

“You haven’t called me that before.” She said with a small smirk. “But I enjoy it. Anyway you wanted something?”

“Yes, Lia wants to take me down to the lake. Would you be okay to watch the kids, for a little?” She smiled, wanting to go down to the lake, and feeling slightly happy that she was okay with

“Of course sweetheart.” She said kissing her forehead. “Do you want to bring them down and put the twins in their little cribs and Carter in his play pin down here?”

“Yes, and thank you.” Jace’s mother smiled. The children were brought down and the girls walked down to the lake. The walk down was simple, laughter and giggles. She wouldn’t run away, her kids weren’t with her. Lia smirked as they jumped in.

“This is nice, its warm out here, and you and I haven’t had a lot of time to spend together.” Lia said as the two swam around.

“It is nice isn’t it.” She said, she hadn’t felt happy like this since she arrived accept when she was with her children. Jace was kind, and she wanted to get him away from his family, they could start a life away from them all. Suddenly they heard voices, male voices. They swam a little farther out so they couldn’t be seen by whoever was coming.

“Men.” Lia said softly. “Should we kill them?”

“I dont have weapons.” She said softly. “But if you do.”

“I always carry weapons. Come on swim to the shore.”

“Uhm Lia.”

“Yeah?”

“We don’t have clothes on. We are skinny dipping. My husband wouldn’t want them to see me like this, and I am sure your brother wouldn’t be happy, or your father.”

“Damn it.. you’re right. Lets just stay here.” She said, they watched the men. The boys began to jump into the water. “Fuck. What are we going to do?”

“Just stay here. They probably haven’t seen us yet. That large rock, we can hide behind it.” The two hid behind the large rock as they watched the men. “Its like we are mermaids.” She giggled. Lia held her finger up to her lips. “

Shhh.” She went silent as the boys got closer.

“Did you guys hear that?” The oldest of the three said. Lia and Anika held themselves against the rock. Afraid the men would find them. Lia had preconceived ideas about men, that they would rape you when they first see you, due to what her father had told them. At least if it were just females around.

“Hear what?” The others asked.

“Thought I heard a girl. Or girls.”

“Actually I think you may be right, see those clothes, they look like women’s. Do you think naked girls are in the lake.” They said. “Lets find them, maybe they would want to play with us.” The laughed.

Lia and Anika looked to one another quickly. “Damn it.” Lia whispered. “We need to get to the shore.”

She nodded softly, but looked slightly concerned. “How are we going to do that?” Lia grabbed a rock and threw it, making a splash, they waited till the men had swam towards the shore and the girls swam under the water, but the big splash was heard as Lia came up for a breath and then got on the shore. They grabbed their clothes, Anika put on her bra, undershirt and some jeans.

“Hey!” The men shouted, having gotten to the shore themselves. The girls were running when Anika tripped, Lia turned back to see one of the men, most likely the youngest of them to grab her. “Hey princess.”

“LET ME GO!” She screamed. Lia grabbed her knife, not caring if she were naked or not.

“Drop her or I will stab you all!” Lia yelled. They looked to one another, and began to drag Anika away. “I SAID DROP HER!” She raged. She chased after them, and as she did she heard two gunshots. The boys let Anika go, Anika started to crawl away, but wasn’t left unharmed. She was slightly bruised, her neck was covered in fingerprint bruises.

“Stay where you are!” A familiar voice yelled to the men. The stopped, looking around, it was George the man who brought her to the family. “Dont move a muscle, Lia get some damn clothes on and get back home. Take Anika with you! Tom and I will get these three back.” Lia put her clothes on, and the two of them headed back.

“I am in so much trouble.” Lia cried. “They are going to punish me..”

“Hey you saved me.”

“No George saved you. I just… got you in front of those idiots.”

“Lia…you wont be in trouble.”

“Yes I will, you saw how he was..” Anika went inside her home, and Jace’s mother instantly went to tending her wounds. Lia was sent to her room, and locked in.

“Are you alright darling?” Jace’s mother asked.

“They tried to hurt me..they did hurt me. I could have died…” She cried. “This family is safe..I am safe here.” She cried. Jace’s mother nodded and hugged her tightly. “I want to stay here forever..”

“You will honey, don’t worry. Jace will be allowed to take care of those jerks.”

“What is going to happ..happen to Lia?” She asked.

“That isn’t for me to choose, I wouldn’t be mad at her she was a victim too, but her family might feel differently.”

“Mom..they..could have killed or raped me.”

“I know darling, now shh, lets get you to go sleep.”
