Chapter 12
It’s a beautiful, warm night. The moon shines through the trees as a man walks in the park, holding his girlfriend’s hand. He looks up at the night sky, “There’s no one I’d rather share this moment with.” He’s too shy to look directly at her, so he just gazes at the nature surrounding him.
As he walks along, he feels his hand being squeezed. Thinking she must be scared, he tries to comfort her. “I know you don’t like the dark, but don’t worry. I won’t let anything happen to you.”
The air tickles his ear as he hears her whisper, making him smile. He replies, “I love you too. I’m just so happy that you finally came around. I’ve loved you for so long.”
As he keeps walking, he notices her grip doesn’t loosen in the slightest.
He asks, “Maybe we should head home, what do you think?” He then raises their hands, softly kissing the back of hers.
“AHHHHHHHHHH”
He gets startled by the scream, letting go of her hand. It’s dark, but across the park, he can see a young lady staring at him, her face frozen with fear. She screams once more, running off as fast as she can.
The man sighs, “I’m so sorry, my dear. Now you’re all dirty.” He reaches down, picking up the severed hand, brushing off the dirt. “Now, let’s get you home. I’m sure the rest of you is getting lonely.”
