Chapter 2

A man throws a bone for his dog to go fetch. As the dog runs through the grass, the man smiles, grabbing another. The dog chews on the bone for a minute then comes back, placing it at the man’s feet. The man then throws the next bone for the dog to chase.

Every time the dog comes back a little dirtier, but it doesn’t bother the man. He planned to wash his dog down afterward anyway.

“Final one!” The man says, tossing a large bone. The dog runs, chasing after it. This one takes a while for the dog to chew clean.

Once done, it walks back to the man and places the bone at his feet, blood dripping from its mouth.

“Good boy!” The man praises. He then kicks the last bone into the hole beside him, along with the 205 others belonging to his latest victim. He fills in the hole, then looks at his dog.

“Who shall we find for you next?”
