Chapter 12
Meanwhile, eunwoo entered an apartment that wasn’t luxurious but was comfortable.
He went to his bedroom and lay down, staring at the ceiling. His teeth were gritted, clearly showing his anger and irritation.
“Aish, shibal, why the fuck is he here?” Eunwoo said, pulling at his hair. His eyes were red. “I don’t want to see that killer’s face,” he said bitterly.
“But why the fuck is he here?” he said, confused and annoyed.
“Huh, he has brothers. How sweet of him. After killing Hyungie with his own fucking hands, he found his Hyungs. Doesn’t he have even a single guilt? How can a person be like this? After all this happened, he’s happy to be around me and Noona, who still hasn’t recovered from that incident. How can he be like this? Why did he betray us?” he thought, closing his eyes. A tear escaped from his closed eyes, followed by a steady stream.
“H-he w–was my b-b-bestfriend but w-w-why he d-d-did that?” he said, crying hard.
“but i cant believe that still. was it true or not. bu-but why h-he d-did that? ahhh waeee????” han seo jun cried
What happened? What is happening? What will happen?
(Guys what do think might have happened between jungkook and seojun? what guys think about above lines?👆? )
—
“So let’s discuss this tomorrow, and Namjoon-ah, update us if you find anything. And Hobi, send me the final list of the people who work for him,” Jin instructed. “Nae, Hyung,” Hobi and Namjoon said together. Jin hummed.
“Okay, let’s go inside. It’s getting cold outside, and it’s time for dinner,” Hobi said, getting up. “Let’s go,” namjoona nd yoongi said together, going inside the mansion.
—
After a while
“I’ll go and call Kookie,” Tae said, but stopped by the maid’s voice. “Sir, Jungkook sir said not to disturb him, and he ate dinner,” the maid said. “Oh, okay,” Tae said and sat in his chair. Everyone started eating while chatting.
“Guys, you all know what? Today I met a client. She was traumatized, you know. She’s blaming herself for her brother’s death, and her family is also blaming her for that. And the worst thing is when she tried to save her brother from an accident, she lost the ability to walk. After all this, too, her family is blaming her for freaking five years,” Hobi said with a sad voice. Everyone’s mouths were wide open.
“How cruel they are, her own family is doing this. I’m sure they’ll get punished for their deed,” Jimin said. “Ne, they will,” Tae added. “They even abuse her. She was in a miserable state. Her mental health was so bad,” Hobi added. “Did you recover her?” Jin asked. “Hmm, I think 50%,” Hobi said. “They should be in jail. Tell me their names. I’ll put a case on them. How cruel they are,” Namjoon said. Hobi chuckled. “No need for that, Joon. They’re already in prison behind bars,” Hobi said.
“I hope they’ll get God’s punishment, huh? How cruel,” Tae said. “They will now eat those veggies, Tae,” Yoongi said. “Aniyoo, it won’t be good,” Tae said. “Tae, eat,” Namjoon said. “Aniyoo, Hyungie, it’s bitter,” Tae whined. “Hyungie, say something to him. He never eats those,” Jimin said to Jin, who was eating food. “Do you think he’ll eat if I say he always throws tantrums about food?” Jin said. Tae pouted. “Tae, eat. It’s healthy,” Hobi said. Tae sighed heavily and ate a piece with a pout. Everyone chuckled.
The night passed like that, filled with laughter, bickering, and whining.
—
“You are killer Kim Jungkook. You don’t deserve to be called my friend. You are a killer, a betrayer, a selfish person,” a boy’s voice said.
“Jungkook-ah, why did you betray us? Why? Why did you try to kill me? Why? i regret being your noona just get lost.” a woman’s voice said.
“Jungkook, what did I do? Why did you kill me? Why? Why did you destroy my life? You betrayed me. You don’t deserve to be forgiven,” a man’s voice said.
“Jungkook-ah, is it my fault that I took care of you like my own son? Why did you do that? You’re selfish. I don’t want a son like you. You are a killer. A killer. I’m ashamed of you. It’s shameful to call you son. I’m disappointed in you, Jungkook,” a woman’s voice said.
“Ani, no, no, I’m sorry, please, no, please don’t leave, Eomma, Noona, Seojun-ah, Hyungie,” Jungkook mumbled in his sleep. His body was covered in sweat, and he was shivering. “Nooooooooo!” he yelled and jolted from his sleep. His breaths were heavy. He shivered while breathing heavily.
“You are a killer.”
“You are selfish.”
“Just die.”
“You don’t deserve to be called my son.”
“Work for me, remember you are a worker, not my son.”
“You killed.”
“You are a killer.” “Killer.” “Killer.”
The word “killer” was ringing constantly in his head. He covered his ears tightly. “A-ani, please stop,” he stuttered. After a while, the voices stopped. With his shivering hands, he opened the drawer, took a pill, and swallowed it with water. After that, he curled up in bed.
After calming down and his shivering body stopped shaking, he took a deep breath. He looked at the time. It was 3 in the morning. He sighed heavily. He got up from the bed.
He went to the restroom. He looked at himself in the mirror, seeing his sweaty hair, red eyes, and pale face. He banged the wall with his hand.
Without removing his nightdress, he turned on the shower. The water was freezing, and Jungkook shivered under it. The cold water relaxed him. He stood there, letting the cold water wash over him. After five minutes of the cold shower, he sat in the tub filled with warm water. After taking a warm bath, he came out dressed in casual wear. He looked at the time, which was 3:43 AM. He took a jacket and went out of his room.
He looked out the open window at the dark mansion. He went to the rooftop.
He sat on the swing. The cold breeze caressed his body. He smiled a little, looking at the peaceful atmosphere.
“It’s my fault, right? If I died that day, it would be nice for everyone, right? Why did she save me instead of her ? From that day, my life has been a complete nightmare. I don’t want to live. I don’t want to remember my fucking past. Please,” Jungkook said to the moon, his voice filled with sadness and guilt. His eyes were filled with sorrow. “Mianhae,” Jungkook said. Even though he held so much sadness, there were no tears in his eyes.
Smiling for the world, but dying inside.
After a while of looking at the moon, he went downstairs to the gym. He entered the empty gym. He sighed and started working out while wearing headphones.
Few days had passed, and Jungkook had been locking himself in his room. He only came out to eat. While eating, if Tae or Jin spoke to him, he would either remain silent or give a nod or a one-word answer. Jin and Tae tried various ways to engage with him, but Jungkook kept his distance, which made Tae and Jin sad but they never showed it, especially Jin. As for Mr. Kim, he gently corrected Jungkook in front of his brothers and continued to be soft with his sons.
At university, Jungkook never spoke to anyone. Even if someone approached him, he would just glare at them, which was enough to scare them away. As for eunwoo, whenever their gazes met, it was filled with a complex mix of anger, betrayal, longing, and sadness.
Tae, Jin, and the others thought Jungkook needed time to adjust. They hoped that Jungkook would return to his old self and start interacting with them like before.
Little did they know, Jungkook was harboring a lot of pain and resentment. Did they know about the other sad stories that their maknae was carrying?
Would they be able to bring back their old Kookie?
—
Right now, the Kim family was having breakfast, except for Tae who had left early for university with Jimin to prepare for a presentation. As usual, Jungkook was eating silently. “Jin, what about the reply from the Park CEO?” Mr. Kim asked Jin. “They said they’ll come to Korea next month to discuss the arrangements,” Jin replied formally. “Hmm, that’s good to hear. Look into this project; I don’t want a single mistake,” Mr. Kim said calmly but dominantly. “Ne, Dad,” Jin said. Mr. Kim continued eating, and Jin followed suit.
“Jungkook, how are your studies going?” Mr. Kim asked Jungkook. Jungkook flinched, snapping out of his thoughts. “M-mwo?” Jungkook asked again, not having heard the question.
Mr. Kim looked at Jungkook with a glare. “I asked how your studies are going,” Mr. Kim asked calmly. Jungkook nodded and whispered, “Good.” Mr. Kim hummed and said softly, “Study well, Kook, and I don’t want any complaints, hmm?” Jungkook blinked, confused by his father’s unusual interaction. “Ne,” Jungkook said lowly.
They continued eating, while Jin thought, “The atmosphere seems off. Why is Dad talking to him like this?” He looked at Jungkook, who wasn’t eating but staring at the food. Jin took a piece of meat, placed it on Jungkook’s bowl, and said, “Jungkook-ah, eat,” Jin said. Jungkook hummed and continued eating.
After breakfast, Jungkook went to his university on his bike, and Jin and Mr. Kim went to the office.
—
In Jungkook’s class.
It was math period. “So, who’s ready to solve these sums?” Mrs. Shin, Jungkook’s class teacher, asked as she wrote three sums on the board. Everyone looked down, not wanting to be called on.
“Come on, guys, you should do it. I’ll count to three. 1… 2… 3…” Mrs. Shin counted, but no one volunteered.
“Okay, I’ll call the names. Um, Jang Junwoo, Jungkook, and chaeyoung” the teacher called.
The three got up. Jungkook and chaeyoung got up silently, while Junwoo stood up with a sigh. They started solving the sums.
Eunwoo, sitting at the back, looked at Jungkook and chaeyoung solving the sums without any struggle.
Eunwoo sighed and mumbled, “Aish, it’s going to be a big competition.” Taehoon, who heard this, looked at him and asked, “What competition?” He was a bit loud, so the teacher caught him.
“Yah, Taehoon, stand up. What are you talking about? Come, the next sum is for you,” Mrs. Shin said. Taehoon stood there, scratching his head. Eunwoo chuckled softly. Taehoon glared at him.
Meanwhile, Jungkook was the first to finish. The teacher looked at the answer and said, “Wow, that’s correct. You did great, Jungkook,” the teacher appreciated him. Jungkook nodded, bowed, and left.
Then, the second one to finish was chaeyoung. At last, it was Junwoo’s turn, a spoiled brat and bully.
“Yah, Junwoo, don’t you care about studying, huh? Always making trouble in class. Boy, you have a future, remember that. You should concentrate,” Mrs. Shin scolded Junwoo. Junwoo nodded and went to his seat. When he sat down, his eyes met Jungkook’s. After sitting down, Junwoo thought of something and smirked evilly at Jungkook.
—
It was break time.
Jungkook was writing something in his notebook while others were talking loudly, making Jungkook put on his earbuds. Meanwhile, Seojun was resting his head on his desk, closing his eyes.
Junwoo and his friends, being troublemakers and spoiled brats, were bullying a junior boy. “Haha, see your face. Come on, boy, show some expression. Dance well, come on. All your audience is watching,” Junwoo’s friend said to the boy while recording a video to upload on Instagram.
Junwoo looked at Jungkook, who was silently working. “Guys, let him go. Let’s have some other fun,” Junwoo said, looking at Jungkook. All his friends nodded with a smirk and left the boy.
Junwoo took a pouch filled with stationery and threw it at Jungkook. Jungkook flinched and winced in pain. Jungkook removed his earbuds and looked at them, glaring. Junwoo went to him and said, “Oh, sorry, Kim Jungkook. Oh, sorry, sorry, bookworm. I accidentally threw it at you,” Junwoo said with a smirk.
Jungkook glared at him and said calmly, “Don’t do it again.” Junwoo scoffed and left, giving the pouch to a fat boy. “Don’t do it again, huh? How can I? Yah, throw it at him,” Junwoo said to the fat boy.
The boy nodded and was about to throw it, but someone else threw an eraser at his face. They all looked in the direction. They saw eunwoo poking his cheeks with his tongue and glaring at them.
eunwoo gestured for the fat boy to come to him. The boy gulped and went to Seojun. Once he got there, eunwoo punched his tummy lightly. “If I see you guys bullying anyone in the university, it won’t be nice for you. And also, stop messing with him,” eunwoo said, pointing at Jungkook.
The boy gulped. “Understood?” eunwoo asked. The boy nodded and went back to his group. Junwoo glared at eunwoo, who returned the glare with an eye roll.
eunwoo looked at Jungkook, who was already looking at him. Jungkook had heard the conversation. eunwoo and Jungkook exchanged glances.
“I‘m for Kookie, and Kookie is for me. We’re best friends,” “Ne, Jungkook and eunwoo are best friends forever. No one can separate us,” Jungkook heard those voices. He looked away and rested his head on the table. He closed his eyes.
