Chapter 30

(tada double update)

The following day, Hyesuk, Haein, and eunwoo went to Mr. Kim’s mansion, hearts pounding with dread. The air was thick with tension as they entered, and Mr. Kim greeted them with a cold smile, as if he had anticipated this.

He watched as they approached, his gaze shifting between them. “Ah, so you’ve decided to join us after all,” he remarked, his tone darkly satisfied.

“Please, let us stay here with him,” Hyesuk begged. “If… if you’re going to force him into this life, at least let us be here with him.”

Mr. Kim’s expression turned hard. “Fine,” he said dismissively. “But I will make this very clear: Haein, and eun will join the mafia. I will not tolerate any disobedience.” He turned his gaze on Haein, his eyes narrowing. “If either of you refuses to comply… it won’t end well for any of you. And especially not for Jungkook.”

Hyesuk’s heart ached as she saw the fear in Haein and eunwoo’s eyes, the horror of what lay ahead sinking in fully. But they had no other choice.

Eunwoo felt a cold wave of fear wash over him as he glanced at Haein, who met his gaze with a small nod of encouragement. The two of them exchanged a silent promise, one of loyalty and protection. They would endure whatever came their way-for Jungkook, for each other.

The choice was no longer theirs to make. They were bound to Mr. Kim’s will, dragged into a world they could barely comprehend, all to shield the one they loved most from the nightmare awaiting them.

“And jungkook will live with me, not with you guys. My son is going to live with me and that’s final.” Kim said dominantly. Making the trio to be shock.

“No I can’t leave him with you” Hye suk said her voice was filled with determination.

“He is my son Hye suk, be happy that I left him with you for freaking 2 and half years. I don’t want you to argue on this topic. You three can live in your house, he need not to see you guys daily. If you start a argument on this again it won’t be good for jungkook.” Mr Kim said and left. Leaving Hye suk and haein shock behind.

The three were crying. “How how can I leave kookie here, with this monster. I can’t please” Hye suk cried.

After a while of shedding tears they gathered their courage and went to jungkook’s room to see him.

That night, the three of them entered jungkook’s room, they saw the small figure in the bed, fully wrapped with blanket, they could hear soft sniffes, they took a deep breath and went near him. hye suk kneeled down she gently kept a hand on jungkook’s shoulder, but next moment jungkook flinched hardly, haein and hye suk got confused at the strange behaviour, “d-dont p-please” they heard the brokn whisper.

“k-kookie its me eomma” hye suk said softly trying to make jk to see her, jungkook slowed peeked out from the blanket and the next moment when he saw hye suk, he hugged her tightly “eommaaaa” he cried hugging her tightly and crying hard, “b-baby i-i am here w-why ar you crying?” hye suk asked softly, confused.

haein noticed jungkook’s white t shirt which had some blood on it.

“Yahhh k-k-kookie w-what happened t-to your back?” Hae in asked hesitantly thought she had a thought that something is fishy.

Jungkook peeked out and looked at haein with scared eyes. “H–hurts” jungkook said lowly, haein and Hye suk gasped, “eunwoo-yah go out hmm” hae in said gently, eunwoo nodded and went out but still worried.

“What hurts b-baby?” Hye suk asked softly so scared.

“M-my back” jungkook cried harder hiding his face on Hye suk’s chest.

Hyesuk worried and scared and slowly took off jungkook’s blood stained shirt, hae in and Hye suk gasped loudly looking at the sight.

Jungkook’s whole back was stationed with blood and bruises. It was fresh.

“Your appa did this?” Hye suk’s voice was trembling. Jungkook nodded while crying loudly . Hye suk hugged him gently trying a way to comfort the hurted boy.

Meanwhile haein sat there fully shocked and stunned, her eyes were shedding tears non stop.

“K-k-kookie baby my bun don’t cry please, eomma will make the pain shoo hmm don’t cry see be here with noona okay ,I’ll bring the medicine to treat your wound” Hye suk said making jungkook to sit, haein gently hugged him side way, jungkook just hid his face on hae in’s embrace, crying silently.

“Kookie I am here, noona is here na don’t cry hmm, we’ll make the pain shoo away. Pls don’t cry kookie” haein pleaded in broken voice. She was trying to stay strong for her brother.

But jungkook continued crying.

Soon Hye suk was there with the first aid box.

“Make him lay on his stomach” Hye suk said to haein. Hae in nodded and gently made jk to lay like that.she held jk’s hand gently.

“Kookie it may burn a little hmm, don’t be scared okay, it’s just a few minutes then no pain hmm” Hye suk said. Jungkook nodded slowly.

Hyesuk started cleaning hin wounds gently but that also has a lot of jungkook pain. He screamed in pain. He cried loudly. Its was the first time him being beaten.

“Noonaaa its paining ahhh… Eommaaa ahhhh” jungkook kept crying and whispering in pain.

“Kookie that’s it baby pls don’t cry, just few more then no pain don’t cry “

Soon Hye suk completed cleaning and dressing his wounds.

Haein and Hye suk started comforting the crying jungkook.

Finally jungkook stopped crying.

Right now jungkook was in the embrace of Hye suk, seo jun was also inside sitting beating jungkook holding his hands.

“Kookie why did he beat you baby?” Hye suk asked gently caressing his hair.

“I was crying for you three, I threw tantrums and was b-bratty s-so he beat me, i-its m-my fault though” jungkook said with a pout.

“I will talk to your appa okay kook, don’t worry” Hye suk said, jungkook hummed and looked at Hye suk with bambu eyes.

“Eomma don’t scold appa. He beat me b-because I was at f-fault so don’t please” jungkook asked with early puppy eyes. Hye suk smiled sadly and nodded. “I won’t scold I will tell him not to beat my kook, because you’ll get hurt and will be in pain nah, i cant see my kookie in pain” Hye suk said.

Jungkook smiled and snuggled closer to Hye suk.

Jungkook always craved for the love from his dad a lot in his past. Even though mr Kim was cold with jungkook, jungkook had a hope that me Kim will speak with him softly. He will love him. Jungkook loved his appa a lot without knowing his deeds.

After treating Jungkook’s wounds, Hyesuk spoke. “Kookie, your appa wants you to live with him.”

And with just that one sentence, Jungkook’s whole happiness crumbled.

Jungkook threw countless tantrums and cried endlessly, but Hyesuk had no choice but to make him stay there—with the devil. She couldn’t do anything against Kim. Jungkook cried a lot, terrified of living with his father. Eunwoo cried just as much—how could someone abruptly take his best friend away?

From that day, Jungkook started living in hell.

Hyesuk and Haein made sure that Kim didn’t lay a hand on Jungkook. Every day after school, Jungkook would meet them.

As for Eunwoo and Jungkook’s bond, they were the best duo. They had always been together, sharing everything with each other. Jungkook was at least grateful that Eunwoo attended the same school as him.

But their happiness didn’t last long.

Kim dragged them into the mafia world when Jungkook turned 11—just three months after his birthday. And that’s when they truly saw hell.

Kim was ruthless in his mafia world. Even Haein and Hyesuk couldn’t protect their maknaes.

Jungkook’s relationship with Kim was nothing like a father and son. There was no love, no care in father. Kim never spared a glance at Jungkook—he always neglected him, always remained cold and strict. But worse than that, he abused Jungkook.

However, this was something Haein and Hyesuk were completely unaware of. Jungkook never told them. Not once did he share a single thing about his suffering. They never found out, trusting Jungkook’s words when he reassured them.

To Haein, Hyesuk, and Eunwoo, everything seemed fine.

But for Jungkook, nothing was fine.

Kim started putting immense pressure on him to top his classes. When Jungkook was 12, he didn’t study as well as Kim expected and ended up scoring lower marks on an exam—78%.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to study. He simply never got the chance.

At home, Kim would abuse him relentlessly, often for no reason. The heavy mafia training left him physically and mentally exhausted. By the time he turned 12, Jungkook was already drowning in depression.

When Kim found out about his low marks, he lost it.

That night, Jungkook endured one of the worst beatings of his life.

“A-a-appa… p-please…” Jungkook whispered, already exhausted from the pain.

“Just shut the fuck up, you idiot! You’re such a useless brat—always disappointing me. Why were you even born, huh?!” Kim spat, his voice dripping with hatred.

The cane in his hand struck Jungkook’s fragile body over and over.

“I clearly told you I wanted above 97%, but you still disobeyed me. You don’t deserve happiness. You’re nothing but a disappointment.”

Jungkook curled up into a ball, listening to the cruel words being thrown at him while enduring the excruciating pain.

Just imagine—getting a low mark and being beaten like hell while someone hurls insults at you.

Did he deserve that?

From that day onward, Kim reduced Jungkook’s visits to his family—only once a week.

Jungkook got used to it.

He stopped speaking to anyone except Eunwoo at school.

He always wore a fake smile around others, never letting anyone see his pain. No one could tell he was being abused. No one could tell he was drowning in depression.

No one had a single clue about his suffering.

Jungkook, Eunwoo, and Haein started training under Kim.

Eunwoo and Jungkook excelled in fighting, shooting, and strategic planning, while Haein mastered those along with hacking. She became well-known for her hacking skills, while Eunwoo and Jungkook only learned the basics.

Despite attending school, they also had homeschooling, learning things far beyond their age. Haein pursued medical studies, which Kim surprisingly permitted.

A Random Day in 14-Year-Old Jungkook’s Life

Jungkook sat at the table, silently eating the meal he had cooked himself.

No one would cook for him—he had to cook for himself.

At just 13, he was responsible for preparing his own meals, cleaning the entire mansion by hand, studying on his own, and enduring his father’s abuse.

For him, the word “home” was enough to make him shiver.

In his eyes, home was nothing but hell.

The only time he felt even a little relief was when Kim was out of the country for business meetings.

Once he finished eating, he got up and went to his room. He wasn’t feeling well—his body ached, and his fever was high. He fell asleep earlier than usual.

10 PM.

For anyone else, that would be normal.

But for Jungkook, it was early. His usual bedtime was midnight.

He was jolted awake by the shock of ice-cold water being poured on him.

His breathing turned ragged as he shot up, gasping.

Kim stood there, his face twisted in fury. Before Jungkook could even register what was happening, Kim pulled off his belt.

And then, the beating began.

“What fucking time is it, huh?!” Kim’s voice thundered. “It’s already 7 in the morning, and you’re still sleeping? You’ve become such a disrespectful little brat, you piece of shit!”

The belt lashed across Jungkook’s body, each strike searing pain into his skin.

“Ahhh… Appa, please—ah! A-appa, please… It hurts—ahhh!”

Jungkook pleaded, his voice cracking in desperation.

But his cries fell on deaf ears.

Kim didn’t stop. He didn’t care.

Was waking up at 7 AM such a huge crime?

That day was one Jungkook would never forget.

He couldn’t move. His entire body was covered in bruises and welts. The pain was unbearable.

At some point during the beating, he lost consciousness.

But even after he fainted, Kim didn’t stop.

He continued beating his unconscious son.

For the first time in his life, Jungkook took a leave from school.

He lay in his room like a lifeless body

No one was there to care for him.

No one except the doctor—who treated him in silence, unable to do anything more. Even he pitied Jungkook.

From that day forward, Jungkook never dared to wake up late again.

He always woke up at 4 AM sharp.

Despite knowing his father abused him, despite knowing his father hated him to the core, Jungkook never complained to anyone.

He never told Hyesuk.

He never told Haein.

He never told Eunwoo.

He just endured.

Because deep down, he still hoped.

Hoped that one day, maybe just one day, his father would change.

That he would be like other fathers.

That he would care.

That he would love him.

Jungkook hoped.

And hoped.

And hoped.

He never stopped hoping.

On a Random Weekend of 15year old jungkook

It was the day Jungkook got to meet his family.

“Eommmaaaaa!” Jungkook whined as he and Eunwoo fought over something.

“Ahhhh, eommaaaa!” This time, it was Eunwoo.

“Yah, you two! Shut your mouths, brats!” Haein scolded.

“Noonaaaa!” Jungkook whined, running to her. “Noona, he’s saying I’m cheating! But he’s the one who’s at fault, and he won’t admit it!”

Jungkook pouted like a baby.

“Eun, don’t argue with him, baby,” Hyesuk said while setting things on the table.

“Aniii! I’m not! He’s a cheater! Cheater!” Eunwoo huffed like a child.

“Yah! You’re lying—”

And that was it.

They started bickering again, and no one could stop them.

Meanwhile, Haein and Hyesuk watched with warm smiles.

“Whenever they’re together, the house is full of happy sounds, isn’t it, Haein-ah?” Hyesuk asked, admiring her sons.

“Nae, eomma. They are the happy pills of this home,” Haein replied with a soft smile.

The two women continued watching them fondly.

“Okay, okay! Stop fighting and come eat,” Hyesuk said, placing a snack tray in front of them.

Jungkook and Eunwoo immediately stopped arguing, their faces lighting up. They grabbed their snacks and started eating, watching TV together as if nothing had happened.

They laughed and smiled, their previous fight forgotten.

“Kookie,” Haein called out.

Jungkook, who was happily sipping his banana milk, turned to her.

“Nae, noona?” he asked with a bright smile.

Haein hesitated before asking, “Is your dad treating you well?”

Jungkook didn’t even take a moment to think before nodding.

“He’s so good to me, noona. He’s not harsh. He only scolds me when I do something wrong, nothing else. He takes really good care of me,” Jungkook said, his bright fake smile never fading.

Meanwhile, with every lie that left his mouth, his heart was breaking inside.

Haein and Hyesuk smiled, completely unaware of the truth.

Hyesuk ruffled Jungkook’s hair. “I’m happy that you’re fine. But if your appa ever does anything, tell me, hmm?”

“Nae, eomma. But don’t worry, appa takes such good care of me,” Jungkook repeated, forcing another fake smile.

Haein and Hyesuk nodded, reassured.

“But he always scolds me,” Eunwoo pouted, making everyone laugh.

“Does he scold you harshly?” Jungkook asked.

Eunwoo shook his head. “No.”

“Then shut your mouth, idiot,” Jungkook said with a smirk.

“Yah! I’m not the idiot—you are!” Eunwoo shot back.

And just like that, they started bickering again.
