Nav lifted Vani into his arms and started walking toward his room.
“Nav Koi dekh lega,” she whispered, hiding her face against his chest, arms curling around his neck.
( Someone will see)
“Dekh lene do, biwi ho tum meri” he replied simply.
( Let them see, you are my wife)
She wanted to say something, but the words refused to come.
So she stayed quiet in his arms, listening to his heartbeat, steady and sure.
Nav opened the door of his room with the foot, and stepped inside without setting her down.
Once inside, he gently lowered her, turning to close the door behind them.
Vani stood there, facing him, wating for him, unsure what to do.
” Kapde change krlo solnyshka, here’s the bathroom. And your clothes are already in the wardrobe.”
( Change your clothes solnyshka…)
Vani stood stunned, but nodded
When she came out, she was wearing a satin baby-pink night suit, her hair still pinned up.
Nav had changed into a black T-shirt and was lying on the bed, one arm behind his head, phone in his other hand.
The moment he saw her, the phone was forgotten. He placed it on the side table and sat up.
Vani walked toward the bed.
He stood and stepped closer.
” Lao, pins nikal ke dun bun ki, it looks heavy. “Before she could respond, his fingers were already working, slow, careful, removing each pin one by one.
(“Here, let me take out the pins from your bun-it looks heavy.”)
She started fidgeting with the hem of her night top.
” Kya hua ? Nervous?” He asked quietly, while removing the bobby pins one by one.
( What happened?)
” Hmm,” She admitted
” To meri izzat lutne ka pura plan hai tumhara.” He smiled and said teasingly
(“So you have a full plan to ruin my dignity.”)
” Nav!!” She whined
He chuckled softly
When the last pin came out, her hair fell free around her shoulders. He sothens the hair, then turned her gently so she was facing him.
He took both her hands in his, and made her sit on the bed and kneeled infront of her
” Look bacha,” he said, voice steady but serious now.
“we don’t have to do anything unless you feel absolutely comfortable,”
” not maybe, not in pressure, not because we are married and have to. We’ll do something when i hear full confirmation in your voice. Until then , jesa chal rha hai vesa chalne do. I am not in a hurry.” he said
(………”Let things go the way they’re going.”)
She swallowed.
” don’t you wanna do it?” she asked hesitantly.
” I do.”
” I am desperate to be inside you. Desperate to make you scream, but more determined to make you feel loved, and cared for.”
“I want to do it, but only if you are comfortable. We’ll do it when you are ready okay.?” after saying this,
He loosened his grip, and stood up, and was about to step back
When she held his hand.
” but i want to do it. I am ready.” she said quietly and Nav froze at his place
” Are you sure?” he asked again, searching her face.
She nodded, eyes steady now.
” Jab tumhare jesa hamsafar ho, to dar kiss baat ka?” She said softly
(“When I have a partner like you, what is there to be afraid of?”)
A slow smile spread across his face he felt mixed of warmth and disbelief.
” Don’t regret it later.” he teased lightly, with a smirk
” I won’t.” she replied without hesitation.

..
He placed his knee on the side of the bed and started hovering over her.
While maintaining eye contact, she started to lean back.
His hand found the hem of her top.
“Dekh lo. Abhi bhi time hai…” he warned teasingly.
(“Think it over. There’s still time)
“Boldo na, ki mujhse zyada nervous tum ho,” she said with a mischievous smile.
(“Just admit it-you’re more nervous than I am,” she said.)
Nav raised his eyebrow at her remark.
“Abhi batata hoon, kon zyada nervous hai…” he said while starting to unbutton her top’s lower button with one hand.
(“I’ll show you right now who’s more nervous…”)
Going up, one by one, his hand lingered on the skin deliberately.
His other hand, which was on her side, started to go upwards, as if memorizing the shape of her body.
She closed her eyes shyly, her breath hitching when his hand cupped her breast.
He leaned forward and took her lower lip in his mouth, starting to suck it.
He bit her lip, and she gasped.
Right then, he entered his tongue inside her mouth and started devouring her, while opening her buttons.
The tip of his finger started sliding from her face to her neck, very gently, deliberately.
His finger traced the outline of her upper breast, then teased the valley of her breasts.
A muffled sound came from her mouth involuntarily when his hand kneaded her breast.
He left her lips with a pop sound.
She was heaving.
He gently dropped her top.
His fingers glided from her stomach and hooked into her waistband; his fingers lingered there for some seconds.
He then looked at Vani, whose eyes were still closed, her chest falling up and down.
“Can I, solnyshka?” he asked softly.
She nodded before waiting for some seconds.
“Words, solnyshka,” he said, his other hand starting to make patterns on her stomach with his fingertips while he waited for her answer.
“Please,” she whimpered when he kissed her navel.
He gently lowered her pajamas.
His gentle gaze turned into a fierce stare.
“They are ugly. I know,” she said while squeezing her eyes shut more tightly.
His hand traced the faded marks on her, some looking like knife wounds, some cigarette burns, some cuts.
“They are not. These are the marks of survival, they tell a story, and I’ll listen while devouring you,” he said while cupping her cheeks.
She moaned when he bit the inside of her thigh.
She instantly bit her index finger to stop her moans.
“I made my room soundproof before our wedding, so let me hear them,” he said removing her finger from her mouth then biting the other thigh in the same spot.
He unhooked her bra and took it from her body with one finger, placing it on the side table.
Her nipples hardened when his mouth found her sensitive bud.
She moaned and grabbed a fistful of his hair while he started rolling the bud in his mouth, and with his other hand, he pinched her nipple, rolling it between his fingers and cupping her breast in his hand.
“It fits so perfectly,”His words made her flush red
He slowly lowered her last piece of her clothing.
He slowly glided his fingers in the wetness.
“You are soaking, solnyshka,” he said while admiring her.
She slightly tilted her head to the side, not looking at him.
He inserted his middle finger in her, earning a moan from her.
“Take it easy, relax your body,” on his saying, she started exhaling, and with each exhale, her body started to loosen.
He started his thrusts slowly, and when she was close, he pulled his finger out.
“Nav!!” she intended to snap, but it came out as a whimper.
He suddenly inserted two of his fingers.
“Ahh, Nav…!”
“Yes, love?” His tone didn’t match his fingers.
He curled his fingers inside her, making her scream.
“Nav, please…!!” she pleaded.
“Patience, love,” he said, and she came with a scream on his hand.
Nav’s eyes locked onto Vani’s as he stripped off his shirt, revealing the his muscles of his chest and abs.
He kicked away his pants next, his hard cock springing free, thick and veined, already leaking pre-cum at the tip.
He gave her a moment to catch her breath, watching her chest rise and fall, her skin flushed and glistening with a light sweat.
He climbed back onto the bed, positioning himself between her spread legs, his hands gently parting her thighs wider. “You’re beautiful, solnyshka,” he murmured, his voice low and reassuring, as he leaned down to press a soft kiss inside of her thigh trailing his lips upward along the sensitive skin.
“I might be an idiot for not doing anything before,” he murmured, his voice rough, his accent thickening with the weight of his own desire, “but I’m so gonna make up for the past.”
His words sent a shiver down her spine. His fingers finally made contact with her skin but not where she craved them most, but along the skin of her inner thighs, tracing slow, making patterns. Teasingly. His touch was everywhere, over her hipbones, brushing the underside of her breasts, Everywhere but there.
Vani arched off the bed slightly with a gasp, her fingers clawing at the sheets. “Nav, please touch me,” she begged, her voice already breathless, already desperate.
His chuckle was low, dark, satisfied. “I am touching you, solnysko,” His fingers went higher, near she wanted, but not where she needed him. “But you gotta be specific.”
She whimpered, her thighs trembling. “Please, Nav-“
“Please what, Vani?” His breath was hot against her collarbone as he leaned down, and started sucking the sensitive skin, making her squirm.
His free hand slid up her stomach, fingers over her ribs, thumb flicking over her nipple. She moaned, her back arching into his touch, but he pulled away just as quickly, denying her the pressure she craved.
” nav…. please….” Touch me down there,” she whispered, her face burning with frustration. She couldn’t believe she was begging like this, but the way he was looking at her, made her bold. Made her needy.
His smirk was intact. “Down where?” He dragged a single finger through her folds, not quite touching her clit, not dipping inside, just teasing.
“Here?” His fingertip circled the entrance to her pussy,
“Or here?” This time, his knuckle grazed her clit, once, before taking his hand back
Vani let out a broken sound, her hips jerking upward, chasing his touch. “Navv!!!”
He mimicked her tone perfectly, mocking and playful. “Vaniiiieee.”
She groaned, her fingers tangling in his hair, trying to pull him closer, but he resisted, laughing darkly. “You’re evil,” she hissed.
“No, solnysko,” he murmured, his lips brushing the shell of her ear. “I’m just making you sure about this .” His fingers hovered again, so close to her clit she could feel the his touch. “Now. Tell me exactly what you want.”
Her breath came in gasps. She could feel how wet she was, how her pussy was throbbing, aching for him. The way his cock pressed against her thighs, making her more mad.
“Take me,” she finally said out, her voice raw.
His fingers stilled. “Take you where?”
She squeezed her eyes shut, her nails digging into his shoulders. “Nav… don’t do this… please…”
“Vani.” His voice was firm, leaving no room for argument. “I told you to be specific. My patience is thin, darling.”
His thumb pressed against her clit, just enough to make her whimper, but not enough to give her relief. “Say. What. You. Want.”
She could feel his breath against her neck. She was so close to getting what she needed, but she knew, he wasn’t going to give it to her unless she asked.
Her lips parted. The words she never said, filthy, but perfect, he made her say it.
“Please,” she breathed, her voice steady despite the way her body trembled. “Fuck me. I want your cock inside me, ”
Nav’s control snapped in that moment finally giving away.
His kissed her raw while aligning his cock with her entrance, the head nudging against her slick folds. He pushed in just the tip, groaning at the tight, wet heat covered him. “Fuck, you’re so dripping for me solnyshka”
She gasped, her back arching slightly as he inched deeper, stretching her inch by inch.
” ahhh…” Her hands clutched the sheets, knuckles whitening, but he paused when she tensed, leaning forward to capture her lips in a deep, comforting kiss. while one hand slipped between them to rub slow circles over her clit
she wrapped her legs around his waist, “Move… please,” she begged, her nails digging into his shoulders.
Nav started with slow thrusts, building a rhythm. “That’s it, solnyshka. Feel how good we fit together.”
He picked up the pace gradually, his hips snapping forward harder, the sound of skin slapping against skin filling the room.
One hand beside her head, the other kneaded her breast, rolling her nipple between his fingers.
He broke the kiss to wander his mouth down her neck, sucking marks into her skin.
Her moans grew louder. “Nav… oh my god, nav nav nav ….!’ She was moaning his name like a mantra.
He groan low in his throat, thrusting deeper, his cock pounding into her. ” “Come for me, love. Let me feel you.” His fingers returned to her clit, rubbing faster, matching the rhythm of his hips.
Vani’s cries peaked, her body tensing as the orgasm crashed over her, Nav followed seconds later, burying himself deep inside her
” you are so beautiful.” he whispers kissing her forehead
✧💗
Vani stirred slowly, her eyelids fluttering as she struggled to wake up. After a few seconds, she finally opened her eyes and found herself staring at the ceiling of his room. The memories of last night rushed back instantly, and a soft smile crept onto her lips, her cheeks blooming with a faint tint of pink.
She felt a weight around her waist and glanced down, noticing his arm resting there, possessive even in sleep.
She turned to his side to have a proper look at him.
She tucked a strand of his hair behind his ear.
She was busy admiring him in his sleep, her fingers tracing his face gently-down to his shoulder, then his chest-slow, careful, almost reverent.
“Ese touch mat kiya karo mujhe, agar mene kar diya to… ahh auh… karo gi,”
he murmured, eyes still closed, his voice lazy and teasing, making her startle.
(“Don’t touch me like that. If I end up doing it back, then you’ll moan, don’t blame me.”)
She instantly slapped him lightly.
“Sharm nahi aati tumhe esi baatein karte?” she said, flustered.
(“Aren’t you ashamed to talk like that?”)
“Tumhe karte sharm nahi aayi to mujhe bolne mein kyun aayi? Kal raat to badi sherni thi… ab kya hua??”
(“If you didn’t feel any shame doing it, why should I feel shy saying it? Last night you were such a tigress… what happened now?”)
“Sharm karo, Nav!!” she snapped, utterly embarrassed by his words.
(“Have some shame, Nav!!”)
“Kal ke baad mujhme woh bakki nahi rahi.”
(“After yesterday, that isn’t in me there anymore.”)
“Aur jo tum mein bakhi hai, main abhi nikalta hoon.”
Saying this, he hovered over her.
(“And whatever shame you still have left in you-I’ll take it out right now.”)
“Nav, subha hai!”
She widened her eyes, panic flashing across her face.
( Nav, its morning!)
“To?” he asked, completely unfazed.
( So?)
“To-woh… tumne kapde kyun nahi pehne?” she said quickly, trying to divert his attention anywhere but herself.
(“So-um… why aren’t you wearing any clothes?” )
“Woh to tumne le liye,” he replied innocently, pointing at his white shirt
the same one she was wearing.
(You took them)
“To?” she snapped, annoyed.
“Tumne khud hi to pehnai thi. Ab kya, wapas karun?”
(“So?” she snapped, annoyed.
“You’re the one who made me wear them yourself. What now-should I give them back?”)
He nodded.
Then, with just one finger, he tugged the fabric of her shirt slightly her cleavage was visible, but his eyes was starting into hers.
“Mujhe meri cheez chahiye. Wapas.”
His voice was sharper now. Teasing. Deliberate.
(“I want my thing back. Now.)
“Nav!” she whined, flustered.
“Subha hai.”
( Nav, its day)
“To?”
He paused, still holding her gaze.( So?)
“You woke me up. Ab consequences to jhelne padenge.”
He leaned in, whispering the words against her ear, teeth grazing lightly.
( Now tou have to handle the consequences)
Her breath hitched.
“To tum ek kaam karo,” she whispered back, gathering courage,
“tum wapas so jao.”
(“Then do one thing,” she whispered back, gathering courage,
“go back to sleep.”)
He smiled-slow, lazy, dangerous.
“I can’t sleep without my wife.”
And then, softer, closer
“Aur tumhe sulaane ke liye… mujhe kuch karna padega.”
(“And to put you to sleep… I’ll have to do something.”)
Before she could say anything, he buried his face into her neck.
✧
At noon.
Her already sore body ached as she stirred awake.
Slowly. Carefully.
Like every movement reminded her of the things they have done.
She turned her head.
He was still sleeping.
Peaceful. Unbothered. Criminally good-looking.
She sighed, definitely not in the mood to wake him up this time.
Reaching for her phone on the side table, she checked the time.
12:00 PM.
Her eyes widened.
She froze mid-movement when her reflection stared back at her from the black screen.
“WHAT-“
Her neck.
Her heart dropped.
She quickly opened the camera, angling it closer.
Then, hesitantly, she pulled the blanket down an inch.
Then another.
Her breath hitched.
Hickeys.
Not one.
Not two.
Multiple.
“Navver Brar,” she snapped furiously, scanning her skin,
“tumne yeh kya kiya hai?!
( What did you do?)
How was she supposed to step out like this?
“I am already late. And now this.”
She glared at him-still asleep, still shameless.
“It’ll take so much time to cover up,” she muttered, frustration spilling into her voice.
Her mind started racing.
Dupatta… high neck… concealer… hair down-
From behind her, a lazy, sleepy voice hummed.
“Good morning, wife.”
“Good morning ke bacchee,” she snapped, turning sharply,
“yeh kya kiya hai???? Mujhe kitna time lagge ga inhein chupane mein!!”
( What did you do? It will take me so long to hide these!!”)
Before she could scold him further, his lips were suddenly at her neck.
“Nav-“
He sucked-slow. Deliberate.
“Ahmm-“
She froze.
When he pulled back, his gaze flicked to his newest creation with clear satisfaction.
Realization hit her.
She gasped and slapped his chest lightly.
“ARE YOU INSANE?!”
He leaned back just enough to smirk, eyes half-open-lazy, dangerous.
“Rule number one,” he said calmly,
“hide one, you get two more.”
She stared at him.
“WTF is wrong with you?!”
He shrugged, utterly unapologetic.
“You’re my wife,” he paused, then continued smoothly,
“jitna unhein chupaugi, utni hickeys aur milegi, Mrs Brar.
Aur mujhe koi sharam nahi hai-mai sabke saamne bhi de sakta hoon.”
(“The more you try to hide them, the more hickeys you’ll get, Mrs. Brar.
And I have no shame-I can give them even in front of everyone.”)
Vani’s eyes widened.
Her frustration peaked.
She knew he was serious.
So she decided to return the favor.
In anger, she leaned over him-hovering-
And sucked hard at his lower jaw.
When she pulled back, she looked at the mark.
Then at him.
“Ab batao,” she said coolly,
“tum ise kaise chupaoge?”
( Now tell me how will you hide them?)
He didn’t even hesitate.
“I’ll wear it proudly, honey.
It’s your mark on me. I won’t let it fade.”
Then, softer-but deadly-
“But the catch is… you can’t hide yours either.”
She stared at him, stunned.
Before she could process his words, he got up, crossed the room, and lifted her into his arms.
“Nav!!!”
“Chalo,” he said simply, heading toward the bathroom,
“paani bachate hain.”
( Lets go, lets save water)
✧
Nav was sitting on the sofa chair in his room, one ankle resting over the other.
His posture was relaxed.
His face wasn’t.
He dialed a number.
The call connected on the first ring.
“Update,” he said.
One word.
No greeting. No warmth.
On the other side, the voice straightened instantly.
“Sir… as you instructed, it’s done.”
Nav leaned back slightly, his fingers tightening around the phone.
“Start.”
There was a pause.
Then-
“Anshita,” the man continued, carefully,
“she’s completely destroyed.”
Nav’s jaw clenched once.
“Her husband received everything every before wedding affair, every message, every hotel booking, every voice note. Time-stamped. Categorized.”
Nav closed his eyes for a second.
“Her child…,” the voice hesitated,
“isn’t his. DNA reports were sent anonymously to his lawyer. He already has proof.”
Silence.
Pure, heavy silence.
“She was fired from her company this morning. HR cited ‘ethical misconduct’-but the board knows the real reason. Her reputation is gone. No one will touch her resume.”
Nav’s fingers tapped once against the armrest.
“And custody?”
“Snatched. Temporary order passed. She wasn’t even allowed to hold her daughter before they took her away.”
Nav exhaled slowly through his nose.
Good.
“And the men?”
“There were two, sir.”
“Talk.”
“The first one, he lost everything without understanding why,” the voice said.
“His wife received anonymous evidence. His business partners pulled out overnight. Bank accounts frozen under investigation. He’s drowning in legal notices and doesn’t even know who stabbed him.”
Nav’s lips curved, not a smile. Something colder.
“And the second?”
“That one begged,” the man said bluntly.
“We didn’t touch him physically. Didn’t need to.”
Nav’s eyes darkened.
“He watched his life collapse in real time, wife leaving, parents disowning him, friends blocking him. He tried finding the one behind this, but couldn’t reach us.”
Nav scoffed softly.
“Sir… the psychological damage is irreversible. Panic attacks. Sleepless nights. He hasn’t eaten in two days.”
Nav didn’t react.
“They deserved worse,” he said flatly.
There was a brief silence on the line.
” more about the woman.” Nav asked, already knowing the answer.
“She’s alive,” the man replied,
“but socially dead. No friends. No family. She bullied several people, they are coming infront, she is everywhere on the internet. Everywhere she goes, she is watched. Judged. Whispered about.”
Nav stared at the wall.
Perfect.
“And other ones? ” he asked quietly.
A beat.
“We’re still tracing them..Four of their associates vanished cleanly, no address, no family records, no missing reports. It’s like they never existed.”
Nav’s grip tightened.
“Find them.”
“Yes, sir.”
The call ended.
Nav rested his forehead against the wall.
“I’ll make sure you all wish death is kinder but won’t get it. “he whispered, barely audible,
✧
The kitchen smelled sweet.
There she stood, dressed in a simple Punjabi suit, her chooda clinking softly with every movement she made.
She stirred the kheer slowly, then turned to the other stove to check the shahi paneer, making sure nothing burned. Her hands moved with care, though her heart wasn’t quite steady.
She was nervous.
It was her first rasoi.
Still, she was so engrossed in cooking that she didn’t notice someone entering the kitchen.
“Vani.”
Her heart dropped.
She turned instantly and moved forward, bending to touch Jasmeet’s feet.
Jasmeet stood there with a knowing smile,
Jasmeet looked at her carefully.
“Yeh gardan itni laal kese hui beta?”
( Why is your neck so red?)
Vani froze. Her hand instantly went to her neck.
“I-woh-mai, sayad duppate ki jari ki wajah se rashes ho gye.” she stammered, trying to hide it with her dupatta.
(“I think I got rashes because of the dupatta’s embroidery.”)
Jasmeet watched her for two seconds… then laughed.
A full, amused laugh.
She cupped Vani’s face gently, affection clear in her eyes.
“Oh ho,” she said, shaking her head.
“Chhupane bhi nahi diya?”
( Didn’t let you hide it?)
Vani’s shoulders slumped. Her head hung low.
She shook her head slowly.
Jasmeet smiled softly.
“Baap-beta dono kamine hain,” Jasmeet muttered fondly.
“Mere saath bhi yahi hua tha.”
(“Both father and son are bastards” Jasmeet muttered fondly.
“The same thing happened to me too.”)
Vani’s eyes widened.
“Aapke saath?”
( With you?)!
Jasmeet leaned against the counter, nostalgia softening her features.
“Main bhi dupatta kheench-ke thak gayi thi saara din. I was so embarrassed whole day.”
(“I was tired of pulling my dupatta all day too)
Vani stared at her, half-shocked, half-amused.
“Phir pata hai kya hua?” Jasmeet paused, waiting deliberately.
“I sought revenge. Pucho kaise.”
(“Then do you know what happened?”Want to know how?”)
“Kese?” Vani asked softly.
( How?)
Jasmeet’s lips curled.
“Idhar aao beta,” she said, curling her finger, signalling Vani to come closer.
( Come close let me tell you)
✧
Nav was still sitting in his room.
He desperately wanted to go to her, but his headquarters means vani had given him strict orders. So instead of making her angry, he chose to read some files.
But suddenly, his phone buzzed on the side table.
A knowing smile crept onto his face as he saw the caller ID.
He immediately picked up the FaceTime.
“Sat shri akal, veer ji. Ki haal chaal?” Nav said in a happy voice, though it was laced with a hint of disappointment.
( Greetings brother how are you?)!
“Congratulations on your wedding,” Yash said, without an actual smile. His face was calm, unreadable, but Nav could see it clearly. Yash’s eyes held genuine happiness for him.
“Congratulations?” Nav scoffed lightly.
“Woh bhi dur se? Aaya bhi nahi meri shaadi mein. I am so angry at you. Tere viah ch ehne kaam karvaye main, te mere velle tu aya hi nahi.!” Nav said in a teasing tone, even though he already knew the reason why Yash hadn’t come.
(“Congratulations?” Nav scoffed lightly.
“From a distance? You didn’t even come to my wedding. I’m so angry at you. I did so much work at your wedding, and when it was my turn, you didn’t even show up!”)
“I even wanted to come. I told him,” Inayat bhabhi said from behind Yash.
She wrapped her arms around Yash’s neck from behind, resting her chin near his shoulder.
“Sat shri akal, bhabhi. Kive ho?” Nav asked softly.
( Greetings sister in law, how are you?)
“I wanted to come, but you know your stubborn brother” Inayat repeated gently.
Yash remained silent for a moment, his expression steady-his hand instinctively holding hers.
“I wanted to come. But got stuck here, the flights are off because people are protesting against the government,” Yash replied, looking at Nav.
Nav pouted slightly.
“But you’ve a private jet. Don’t make excuses,” Nav said, still angry with Yash-though he knew exactly why Yash didn’t come back.
They both needed some time after whatever had happened.
Especially Inayat.
“Vani kahan hai? Woh pakka mera muh tod degi jab main vapis aayungi,” Inayat said, giggling softly. Yash looked at her, and a small smile appeared on his face
(“Where’s Vani? She’ll definitely punch my face when I come back.”)
“Ab Vani se aapko khud baat karni hogi. She is in the kitchen making her first rasoi.” Nav replied
(“Now you’ll have to talk to Vani yourself. She’s in the kitchen, making her first rasoi.”)
“Oh.” Inayat said, her face falling a little.
“We wanted to come, but you know… after whatever… happened… it was hard,” Inayat said, hesitating over the words.
“Koi baat nahi, bhabhi,” Nav replied calmly. “I was just teasing. Although Vani doesn’t know any of this-she was busy with her company, Galla, and everything-so I chose not to tell her.”
( Its okay sister in law…..)
Inayat nodded in understanding.
The environment grew a little tense.
“But Yash, you’ve to still make it up to me.”
“Of course, we will,” Yash replied without hesitation.
“You both come and join us? It will be fun,” Yash asked Nav. He missed him, he just didn’t know how to say it out loud.
“Come back to Paris. We’ll be there in some months. Make it up to me there. No excuse.”
Yash nodded once.
“Deal.”
Nav smiled.
“Deal.”

Dining Table
The dining table slowly started to fill.
Vani and Jasmeet finished setting everything in place.
Daadi hid her face, smiling shyly after noticing Vani’s neck.
Vani, oblivious to the stares, instinctively pulled her dupatta a little higher.
Once the food was served, Vani brought out the tray of kheer bowls. She began serving everyone, one by one.
Everyone thanked her with gentle smiles. When she reached Nav, she realised she had only one bowl left in her hands.
She stood there for a second, debating whether she should give it to him or not.
Nav stared at her, silently waiting for her to give him the kheer too.
“Mujhe bhi do,” Nav whined as Vani started to turn back.
( Give me too)
“Tumhein nahi milegi,” she declared, and turned to go back inside in the kitchen
( You won’t get it)
Nav’s eyes widened and he said
“Mai kya tumhara sautela pati hu? Mujhe bhi kheer chahiye.”
(“What am I-your step-husband? I want kheer too.”)
Vani turned to him, hesitating, still unsure, if to give him or not.
That’s when Jasmeet gently pushed Vani a little towards Nav.
“Beta, do usko bhi kheer,” Jasmeet said.
( Beta give him kheer too.)
Vani looked at her, shocked.
Randeep looked at Jasmeet with a knowing smile, shaking his head slightly.
“Meri wali ne paka kuch to karistani ki hai.” he thought
(“My girl has definitely pulled off something.”)
Randeep Singh Brar eyed the katori placed in front of his son suspiciously.
“Nav,” he said slowly, “are you sure tujhe kheer khani hai?”
( Are you sure you want to wat kheer?)
Navver Brar straightened in his chair-proud, confident.
“Haan, bilkul.”
( Yes offcourse)
Randeep squinted, unconvinced.
“Dekh le. Warning de raha hoon.”
(“Watch it. I’m warning you.”)
Nav narrow his eyes not understanding his father
Jasmeet waved him off impatiently.
“Bakwas mat karo. Aap, varna aapse bhi kheer cheen lungi,” she said in frustration.
Everyone snickered at her comment.
Randeep sighed dramatically, a smile tugging at his lips, but he chose to take the risk-for his child.
“Dekh le… saari katori khani padegi. Chhod nahi sakta.”
(“Just watch… you’ll have to eat every single bowl. There’s no getting out of it.”)
Nav smirked.
“Main doosri bhi lunga.”
( I even take second one)
“Chalo phir,” Randeep said, folding his arms
( Okay then lets go.)
Everyone leaned in, suddenly invested in what was about to happen.
Nav took a spoonful.
Then another.
Then-
“Bohot tasty hai yaar.”
( Its so tasty man)
Silence.
Randeep froze.
“…kaise?”
( How?)
He stared at Jasmeet.
Then the bowl.
Then Nav.
“Yeh mere saath cheating hai,” he murmured, getting up from his seat and moving towards him.
He grabbed a spoon and tasted it himself.
Two seconds.
His face changed.
Father and son reached for water together-perfectly in sync.
They drank.
Hard.
The table exploded with laughter.
Everyone.
Except Dadi.
She simply shook her head, a quiet smile on her lips.
“Aur khana hai?” Nav asked innocently.
( Do you want to eat more?)
Randeep pushed the bowl towards him.
“Main apni wali mein se khaunga. Do baar nahi sahunga yeh.”
(“I’ll eat from my own wife’s bowl. I’m not putting up with this twice.”)
He glanced at Jasmeet.
She was trying very hard not to laugh.
Nav, meanwhile, kept eating.
That’s when Vani tugged his sleeve, whispering urgently,
“Bas karo yaar.”
( Stop it man)
“Bilkul bhi nahi,” he replied proudly.
“Meri biwi ne banayi hai, bohot tasty hai. Main toh doosri katori bhi lunga.”
(“Absolutely not,” he replied proudly.
“My wife made it-it’s really delicious. I’ll even take a second bowl.”)
Everyone looked at him in awe-just like they once looked at Randeep.
Vani rolled her eyes, got up, brought another bowl-without salt-and swapped it smoothly.
“Yeh khao. Yeh idhar do.”
( Eat this. And give this back to me)
She snatched the old bowl away.
Nav grinned like he had won a war.
Shubh snorted from across the table.
“Bhabhi OP, khane dete kya jata tha.”
( You should have let me eat)
Nav shot him a glare.
“Sahi toh keh raha hai, Shubh,” Jasmeet added.
“Vani sharif bacha hai mera, taras aa gaya use Nav pe.”
( He is saying absolutely right, my daughter is innocent, she pity nav)
“Haan jaise tujhe aa gaya tha,” Dadi murmured, just loud enough for everyone to hear.
( Yes, just like you once pited ranvijay)
Jasmeet blushed, suddenly nervous.
Randeep only smiled, watching his wife.
“Maa, aap bhi baitho. I’ll serve,” Vani said softly, guiding Jasmeet to her seat.
( Maa you sit.. I’ll serve)
After lunch, Vani received gifts from everyone-necklace, bangles-passed lovingly from Dadi to Jasmeet and finally to her.
Shubh handed her a Dyson.
Vani stared at it, surprised.
“Chhote ho mujhe, tumhein kya zarurat thi?” she said, ruffling his hair.
( You are younger than me, what’s the need is for this gift?)
“Bhabhi baal mat kharab karo-” shubh said,
( Sister in law don’t ruin my hair)
Nav immediately interrupted.
“Kya?” Nav glared at shubh at his tone
( What ?)
Shubh smoothly ignored him and continued, calm and composed.
“Aur… didi ho aap meri. Gift toh banta tha.”
( And you are my elder sister, so the gift was invitable)
He quietly walked back to his room.
Vani smiled.
“Aur pati dev, aapka gift?” she asked teasingly.
( And husband, wher is your gift?)
“Shubha diya toh tha,” Nav replied shamelessly.
( I gave you already in the morning)
Vani widened her eyes, fake-glared at him, and failed.
Suddenly, Nav’s phone buzzed.
Vani moved towards it, but Nav was quicker, snatching it off the table.
“Who is Stacy?” Vani snapped.
“Koi nahi… main aaya abhi,” he muttered, already halfway to escaping.
( No one, I’ll come back soon)
“Navveer!!!” she yelled behind him.
Nav slipped into his room, shutting the door halfway behind him.
His voice dropped immediately.
Low. Careful. Almost secretive.
“No, abhi nahi… haan, haan… handle ho jayega…”
( No.. not now.. yeah… It will be handled)
Vani, who had been walking past the corridor, froze.
Why was he whispering?
She tiptoed closer, pressing herself against the wall, trying to catch words through the crack of the door.
“…don’t let her know…haan, bilkul…”
Her heart thumped.
What is he hiding
She leaned in a little more
The door opened suddenly.
Nav stood there, phone still in his hand.
Their eyes met.
For one second.
Then he cut the call.
Too fast.
Too obvious.
“Nav?” she asked slowly.
“Kya?” he replied casually, slipping the phone into his pocket.
“Tum kis se baat kar rahe the?”
( Who were you talking with?)
“Bas… kaam tha.” He brushed past her.
( It was just work… )
Her patience snapped.
“Sare ladke na shaadi ke baad badal jaate hain,” she burst out, following him.
“Par itni jaldi? Kaun hai Stacy? Jaldi batao!”
(“All men change after marriage,” she burst out, following him.
“But this quickly? Who is Stacy? Tell me-now!”)
She was hyper now. Spiralling.
“Phone chhupa rahe ho, baat taal rahe ho, aur main-“
(“You’re hiding your phone, dodging the topic, and I-“)
“Vani, don’t overthink bacha..” “It’s nothing, just some work.”
And with that, he walked away.
She stood there, stunned.
Subh, who had been heading towards his room, slowed down. He had seen the tension. Felt it.
He hesitated… then turned back.
Knocked gently on Vani’s door.
“Di…” he said softly.
“Nav aisa nahi hai. Aap stress mat lo. Main dekhta hoon kaun hai woh.”
(“Nav isn’t like that. Please don’t stress. I’ll check who she is.”)
He waited for a reply.
Nothing.
She didn’t answer.
The whole day, Vani tried.
Tried to Pick up the phone.
Tried to Look at the lock screen.
Tried to Read the message notification.
Nothing.
By evening, she was done.
She marched straight to Randeep’s study.
“Papa…”
Randeep looked up immediately.
“Ao bacha. Kya hua?” His tone softened.
She walked in, hands clenched.
“Papa, Nav kuch chhupa raha hai. He is talking to some stacy, when i asked he said its work thing, he isn’t showing me his phone, dodging all of my question.”
Her voice cracked at the end.
Randeep’s jaw tightened.
His eyes narrowed.
He stood up.
Walked to the wall.
Took down the rifle hanging there.
Checked the bullets calmly.
“Yeh pakad beta,” he said, handing it to her.
“Bush chalana mat. Baaki main dekhta hoon kaise nahi bolta yeh.”
( Take this child, just don’t shoot him and I’ll see the rest how he won’t speak)
Vani’s eyes widened.
“Papa-“
“Aap bullet nikal ke dedo,” she said nervously.
( Take the bullets out then give it to me)
Randeep snickered, amused, removed the bullets, and handed it back.
Vani marched into the living room.
Holding the rifle.
Pointing it straight at Nav.
Nav’s eyes widened so fast, it was almost cartoonish.
“Vanii- side karo isse,” he said, standing up slowly.
“vidhwa ho jaogi tum.”
(“Vani—move aside,” he said, standing up slowly.
“You’ll be widowed.”)
“Uska main dekh lungi,” she snapped.
“Pehle idhar aao. Yeh Stacy chudail ka sach batao, warna chala dungi.”
(“I’ll handle him,” she snapped.
“Come here first. Tell me the truth about that witch Stacy—
or I’ll pull the trigger.”)
She raised the rifle again.
“Waise bhi papa ne bola tha katal kar dena, woh sambhaal lenge.”
(“Papa had said anyway—kill him. He’ll handle the rest.”)
Shubh, sitting on the sofa, burst out laughing and clicked her photo.
“Ek toh mere sasur ji apni beti ko vidhwa banane pe tule hue hain-“
(“On top of that, my father-in-law seems determined to make his daughter a widow—”)
“CHUP.” Vani glared.
“Idhar aao. Jaldi.”
( Shut up! Come here. Fast).
Nav sighed, defeated, and walked towards her.
She lowered the rifle.
Just then-
Buzz.
Nav’s phone vibrated.
He picked it up, glanced at the message, then looked at her.
“Chalo,” he said quietly.
“Ab bataata hoon kaun hai Stacy. Idhar aao.”
( Lets go. I’ll tell you who stacy is.)!
“Kahan-” she started.
( Where?)
“Shhh.” He turned her around gently and covered her eyes.
“Ab chup chaap suno.”
( Sh.. walk quietly)
He guided her downstairs.
Steps… silence… her heart pounding.
Then he stopped.
Slowly removed his hand.
“Ab aankhen kholo.”
( Now open your eyes)
She opened her eyes.
And froze.
There it stood.
A limited-edition Lamborghini Aventador SVJ – matte black, low, lethal, expensive in a way that screamed power.
Her breath caught.
Nav pointed to a woman standing beside it.
“And she… is Stacy.”
Vani blinked.
“…kya?”
( What?)
“She’s the car dealer,” Nav said simply.
“It was a surprise. Tumhare liye.”
Her eyes filled instantly.
Emotion hit her hard.
She slapped his chest lightly.
“Pehle kyun nahi bataya?!”
( Why didn’t you tell me earlier?)
He grinned.
“Agar bata deta, toh maze kaise leta?”
“This is your wedding gift. Aur pehli rasoi ka gift… woh abhi alag hai.”
(“If I had told you, how would I have had any fun?”
“This is your wedding gift. And the gift for your first rasoi… that’s separate.”)
She was still processing when he came from behind, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
Shubh whistled.
“Kardi kyun shak bhabhi, mere velli yaar te,
Rakhda ni akh tetho bina kise naar te.
Romance karu, naale dance karu,
Nikki nikki gall utte na na ladeo-“
(“Why did you doubt my carefree friend, bhabhi?
He doesn’t even look at another woman besides you.
He’ll romance you, he’ll dance with you too—
don’t fight over every little thing.”)
“Na na,” Vani muttered, embarrassed.
Everyone burst out laughing.
Nav kissed her temple.
“Trust me,” he whispered. ” you are the only sunshine in my life, i promise. ”
✧
Shubh stood alone in his room, right in front of the bed.
The laughter from downstairs. None of it mattered right now.
His phone buzzed in his hand.
He glanced at the screen
Then froze.
A photo.
Ayanshi.
Smiling.
Standing far too close to someone else.
Something inside him cracked.
His fingers curled around the phone, knuckles whitening as his grip tightened, so tight it hurt, but he didn’t care. His jaw clenched, eyes darkening, breath turning uneven.
For a second, he just stared.
Then
He throw the phone across the room.
It slammed into the wall with a sharp, violent sound
Shubh didn’t move.
Didn’t blink.
His chest rose and fell slowly
whatever he was feeling wasn’t sadness.
It was rage.
And this time, it wasn’t going to stay quiet.
