Chapter 2

When I opened the door nany was crying. Her eyes were big and becoming red as if she was crying from sometime. Her heart was palpitating wildly that I can hear her heartbeats. The racing beat of her heart pulsated under my fingertips.

”What happen nany? Please tell why are you crying? Is everything okay. Say na.” I asked.

”Your m-mom” I cut her in the middle ”What happen to mom? Is she alright?” I asked in a fear. My hands were shaking. I was shivering as if I knew something. I didn’t want to hear what she was going to say but still I hold her arms, giving her a shake ”Tell me, what happened?” I asked.

”Mam m-met with an ac-accident and she died in the spot” she replied

As soon as heard that, I fainted. It was unbearable, one could ever imagine something like this can happen with them. When I woke up, I was in my room. I saw nany sitting near me giving her hand on my forehead ”Are you okay baby?” She asked.

”No I’m not. Where’s dad?” I asked immediately

”He went to the hospital to bring the body” she replied

”Okay, can I stay alone for sometime” I said

”Okay” she went by closing the door.

I continued crying. I just can’t think what had happened. I was so excited to go to a new place, new school and to make new friends, it was something I was dreaming of. Everything was good and better but why life has been so cruel to me, I lost my best friend with whom I feel so secured. It was just ridiculous! ”I’ll miss you, Mom”

Their was something going on outside my room, the noises woke me up. I went outside to see whats going on, and saw dad is back with my mom’s body. Mom’s body was covered with blood, leg was broke, face was smashed as she met with a terrible accident where she couldn’t even survive for a second. It was so disturbing that I couldn’t take it, so I went to my room and closed the door and locked it up from inside. I was just 15 years old and losing Mom in so early age is very painful. It was breaking me from inside and with this thought that I would not be able to see her again is making me vulnerable. I was yelling, weeping. I never felt so lonely before, which was miserable feeling and I don’t know how do I deal with it. I was in my thoughts when my door was knocked.

“Kelly come outside, Don’t you wanna say goodbye to your Mom?” Dad asked.

”No Dad I’ll be not able to see her in this way” ”Please don’t force me to come”. I think Dad can understand my condition so he had just left.

My life is hell without my Mom. She was everything for me. ”I love you Mom and I miss you” tears rolled from I eyes. Tomorrow is going to be her funeral day but I don’t think I could attend it. The whole day, I locked myself in the room as I didn’t want to attend it. At night around 9 O’clock Dad came to me and said –

”Baby tomorrow we are leaving as I have to join the office as soon as possible, okay”.

”But Dad how I can leave this place where my mom’s memories comforts me as if she is with me all the time” I replied “I’m not going anywhere”

”I said na you are coming with me tomorrow and we are leaving this place” he said angrily

”But Dad” I could say anything he cuts and says ”No more arguments Kelly”

He went out of the room and smashed the door in anger. I’m disheartened as now I don’t wanna leave this place. ”I lost my mother but he lost his wife. How could he think of leaving this place? I just can’t get it” I uttered in my mind.
