Chapter 35

“Stop this chanting, John.. you are just wasting your time. Accept what you have done and I’ll leave her.. or else she’ll be dead with me”.

“Look, please. . leave her. You hate me, then why are you putting Kelly’s life in danger. Its useless; I know I have wronged you but please don’t punish my daughter for my sins. She is my only hope left. I love her a lot”, John said.

“Oh please… that you can love someone is next to impossible. You who killed his wife for this bitch” looking towards Nany. “What.. you think I don’t know anything?? The day you killed me, my soul just left my body, not the world. I spied on you to take my revenge, just waiting for a body to capture…” I replied roaming around the room.

“You know everything!? Then why do you want me to confess it”, John asked.

“Because it’s your crime and death would be too easy a punishment for you. First, I want you to CONFESS your crimes. ” I replied and saying that I pulled the priest, who had got distracted, towards me and just broke his neck. “He was bothering me so much with his chanting” I replied and smiled.

“Now, c’mon honey… CONFESS the truth or else I’ll not give you another chance to do it and simply take your soul from your body. Just confess”, I replied, looking at John.

“I-I’m so-so-so…..”

“Stop stuttering, you pig and speak clearly. .”

“I’m so-sorry, Jennet. Please forgive me. I had wronged you”

“Yea, you did… Speak, what did you do?”

“First, Mr. Carter and I raped you that day, and then we murdered you. Then we hanged your body from the fan to make it look like a suicide. As Mr. Carter himself handled the case, after about a week the investigation was stopped and the case was closed”, John replied.

“Now, your next crime… what you did to your wife. C’mon, fast!!”

“She came to know about everything I did to you and also that I was having an affair with her”, pointing towards Nany. “She told me that when Kelly returned from school she’d tell her everything. I didn’t want to lose my daughter, so when she went outside for some work I followed her and had her meet with an accident. I thought her death would sort out everything”. He replied.

“Then next, Mr. Carter..”

“WHAT, Dad??” Dennis asked.

“Yes, Dennis.. I know Kelly told you that I killed your father”, I replied, looking towards him, “but it wasn’t me who did it. I wanted to, but before I could, John had already killed him. C’mon, say it John. Hurry up!”

“A couple of months ago, Mr. Carter called me telling me that Kelly was asking about Jennet. I got tensed because if she came to know the truth, it’d be very difficult for me to explain anything to her. So, I called him again, and told him to meet me. And. . then I killed him as he was threatening me that he would tell Kelly everything and I couldn’t risk that”, he replied. “I’m sorry, Dennis” He added, looking towards him.

“I don’t think you did everything all alone”, I asked “Did you?”

“No, she was always with me.. in all the planning and plotting”, He said, pointing towards Nany. “There.. Now, I have confessed everything… Please, just let me and my daughter go. I know it’s hard, but I’m begging you”, John replied on his knees and with his hands joined.

“I asked you to let me go once, remember? Did you?? If you didn’t let me go, then how I can you expect me to let you go” I said softly… and then I moved towards him.
