Chapter 1 – Chap 1
Re: Omega has begun
To whomever this may concern,
Please find attached a summary of my findings, and a full report on the Omega Phenomenon. I have tried to keep it as concise as possible, though some details are just too important to leave out.
If my plan worked then these documents should be uploaded on obscure social media forums, sent to the right emails, and targeted at the right critical thinkers. Don’t worry, this isn’t an “if you’re reading this I’m already dead”, it’s quite the contrary. The algorithm I’ve used factors in my own vitals, if this has been sent then I am very much alive and desperately in need of help. It’s not too late, we can do something about this.
However, contingencies are in place if the algorithm detects I’m dead. Unfortunately if that were the case then I’m afraid it would be too late for you to help. In fact, it would just be too late, for you.
If you’re reading this then you must be an inquisitive person, and within that natural curiosity is a special attribute that I hope you realise about yourself. You are brilliant, and please never let that go. No matter what they tell you, do not surrender your self worth. Your life may depend on it. My life may depend on it.
Please note I will be monitoring all forms of communications related to these documents. If you can help, I will know.
My name is Kassandra, and I am a theologian. Basically my career is about researching and studying religion. Well on the surface that’s what it’s about. I’m a religious studies teacher 3 days of the week, but the rest of my time I spend researching more “interesting” mysteries.
I’d like to say that I’ve travelled across the world, unravelled mysteries, uncovered truths behind the myths, hunted treasure. Well I’m sorry to say that my life is far less interesting than that! The furthest I’ve ever travelled to is Ireland off the coast of England, and when I’m not teaching I’m spending my time in the British National Library in London.
In January 2020 I began to read about the ancient Sumerian and Minoan civilisations (circa 4000 BC to 1200 BC). I won’t go into detail as it’s all in my report, but I cross referenced several “creation” myths from those civilisations with our own modern day creationist theories and found some fascinating parallels.
I went back, again and again throughout January and February, researching more and more about these myths. Until one day I came across a very plain looking book. I nearly missed it out to be honest, but something sticking out of its pages caught my attention. The book was less of an evidence based text, and more of a speculative, hypothetical conversation. It based its premise on the idea that all modern religions share a basis ideal dating back thousands and thousands of years.
The book had a piece of coffee stained paper sticking out from the pages. I took it out and read the short paragraph written on it:
-

I’ve found them, the last chapter of their little church. I’m on my way to REDACTED , it’s in a suburb in the middle of REDACTED in London. The company that owns the building are advertising cleaning jobs, I might just see whether I can get myself a new job… –
-
It’s unusual to find bits of paper or notes in the books in this library, but I didn’t think much of it at the time. I read on for a few more hours until suddenly it was 7.30pm, and I was very thirsty. I reached down into my bag to fetch my water bottle for a quick swig, when I saw what looked like a shadow move across one of the book cases.
I instantly bolted upright and turned my head to look around me, but nothing. Absolutely nothing. I was tired, and surely I wasn’t the only one who visited this particular part of the library. Someone else was probably browsing around, trying to be as quiet as possible. I reasoned I had about twenty minutes left until the security guard came round to remind me to put my books away before closing time. I decided to read as much as I could before then.
Minutes passed. Words started to jumble up as my eyes watered.
The floor behind me creaked, ever so slightly. A faint whisper of sound entered my ear. The sound of shallow breaths being taken. Then nothing. No sound. The air fell still, and goosebumps formed on the skin of my arms. Though still, the air was tangibly colder than it was 5 minutes prior. I was frozen. I didn’t dare move an inch. Then I felt it. A warm breath of air on the back of my neck. I felt my ears and neck tingle. You know that tingly, tickly feeling when someone is millimetres close to your ear? I could almost feel a face moving slowly next to mine, though I couldn’t will my eyes to move to the side of my face to check. I was paralysed.
“CLOSING TIME! Come on everyone, please return your books back where you found them!”
The security guards voice had boomed and reverberated around the room. I snapped out of my paralysis and flung my head round to see who was behind me. You probably guessed it, no one was there; but the piece of coffee stained paper was gone.
A few days passed, but I couldn’t get that moment out of my head. I dreamt about it, I day dreamed about it, I could not stop thinking about it. So I googled the building mentioned of the note. I had easily remembered its name. It’s such a familiar name. What came up? An advert for a job as a cleaner… I chuckled to myself as I said out loud, “looks like I’m taking another part time job!”
