Chapter 2 – Chap 2

Hello again, it’s your neighborhood alcoholic exorcist here to tell you another tale.

Now I spent some time thinking about what story to tell next. I think this one may give you an idea of what interdimensional experiences are like.

Once again, I’m not a writer. I’m a highschool drop out, so forgive my poor grammar.

If you haven’t read my previous post you should. It’s much more action packed, and will give you an idea what I spend a quarter of my time doing. Here’s a link to the post Chapter One

Now it was seven years ago. I had been living in this podunk little town for a year, and I had had a few encounters with spirits, and demons by this point and realized there was something going on in this town.

I wasn’t sure what it was then, but I could tell there was something much bigger going on. If I’m being honest I’m still not entirely sure what’s going on now. I just have a few more ideas.

It was a Friday night and I was at a bar that I had became used to being in. I was drinking an espresso martini when he walked in.

I felt his energy first. It was big, much bigger than any normal human. It was strong too, and very angry.

I turned in my stool to see a man standing in the doorway of the bar. He was tall. He wore a suit not unlike mine. Black slacks, black lounge jacket, white shirt, black tie.

I could feel the anger emanating from his form and it made my stomach turn. What was he so angry about?

He sat next to me and shouted to the bartender “Hey slick! Get me four shots of jameson”.

I gave him a looking over. He had blonde hair that curled, and blue eyes that seemed to shine a little brighter than eyes should shine.

“Can I help you?” He asked. I didn’t even realize I was staring.

“No, no I’m sorry. Must be off in my own world” I said while I finished my drink.

Now I had encountered many demons by this point in my life, but this energy was different.

See with demons theres this sense of reality with them. They know their monsters, but this. This was confident energy. Like they knew they were better than me. Could it be?

No, no it couldn’t be. Angel’s don’t come on this side of the veil. They haven’t for over a thousand years.

The voice in my head started shouting at me “This isn’t human. Watch yourself”.

The anger melted when his shots arrived. He knocked back all four before ordering four more, and a soda.

I asked the stranger “I haven’t seen you around before. You new in town?”

The stranger laughed “No pal, I’ve been here a lot longer that you’d think”

The voice in my head started “Jason this isn’t a demon, and this isn’t human, you need to be mindful. I haven’t felt a presence this strong since..” the voice went silent

“Since when?” I asked in my head but the voice kept its silence.

Great. One of my biggest tools for understanding what I encounter is going silent on me. This is perfect.

The man took his last four shots and stood up. “Well it was nice meeting you. I hope you take care” he said as he walked out the back door.

I put out my cigar and followed him. He was lighting a cigarette of his own when I got out the door. I grabbed my gun and took aim.

The man must of heard me pull the hammer of my revolver because he turned around. “Okay, do you want my money or something like that?” He asked. He didn’t seem too surprised.

“I don’t know what you are, but whatever you are you’re not supposed to be here” I said while focusing my aim.

He laughed “And what are you now? A demon hunter?”.

“Something like that” I replied.

He laughed again and took a drag off his smoke. “Listen kid, you’re making a big mistake. I’m not what you’re fighting”

“Oh yeah? Then what are you?” I asked and suddenly felt his energy again. It was growing and his aura was shining bright.

“I’m what you would call a divine power” he said and straightened his tie.

“Yeah right. Angels haven’t been on this side of the veil in over a thousand years”

“Well” he said as he took another puff off his cigarette. “What you call Angel’s haven’t been on this side of the rift in a long time because you strayed away from what your God proclaimed to be the way you should be”

I tilted my head and suddenly his energy changed. It wasn’t angry anymore. It felt welcoming. As if it was a counselor telling a story by a campfire.

“You see when people started practicing witchcraft, and experimenting with sex, and all these other contributing factors The big man that ‘takes care’ of your world decided we were no longer needed here” he said as he took a step to the side.

“So for over a thousand years we’ve been silently watching from the otherside of the veil listening to the ‘all knowing one’ and avoiding you humans. However, in recent years we’ve gotten bored, and some of us decided we could risk it coming down here to mingle with his precious creations”

As I looked at him I began to see him differently. Suddenly I could see a transparent image of wings on his back that were large and strong. Similar to the way when you smoke DMT the visions are underlayed by reality.

“But doesn’t he watch over everything? Wouldn’t that get you in trouble?” I asked while I lowered my gun.

“Ah see that’s a misconception. See he may be a fifth dimensional being, but he doesn’t see all. He relies on his creation’s eyes and ears to work for him. He uses your prayers to know what’s happening around the world, but with so little people praying these days he doesn’t know as much as he used to” he said while putting out his cigarette.

“So that means you can slip in unnoticed while he’s focused on something else?” I asked tilting my head.

“Exactly, and as anyone else he focuses on the most interesting things. So slipping into some podunk town like this and having a few drinks would definitely go unnoticed”.

I pulled out another cigar and fished in my pocket for my matches. “Why are you here?” I asked.

“See don’t you think you should have asked that question first instead of pointing a gun at an angel’s head?” He said as he looked at me. He had a shit eating grin on his face. I didn’t like it.

“I’m here to observe, have a little fun, live amongst the people God loves so much”. He explained as he stepped towards me

“I think you need to learn to not make assumptions so quickly. Not everything you see is something you need to shoot” he said before striking a match and holding it up to my cigar.

I lit my cigar off the flame and nodded “Well tell me this” I said. “What’s your name?”

He tossed the match and said “You can call me Elijah” he took a step back. “Now I think you might wanna get that” he said just before my phone started ringing.

I picked it up and asked “Hello? Who’s this?”

“Jason it’s me” said the welcomed voice.

It was my dealer. Now I’ll tell you now I take a lot of psychedelic drugs. Everything from mushrooms to DMT. Psychedelics open your mind to the fourth and fifth dimensions in a way our minds can comprehend. They’re a good conduit to make connections with other places.

“Emrick what’s up?” I asked before taking a drag off my cigar.

“I got something for you. Come over right now” he said.

“Alright” I replied looking at Elijah “I’ll be right over”. I hung up the phone.

Elijah smiled and asked “gotta go now?”

I nodded “I want you to tell me one more thing though”

Elijah tilted his head “What’s that?” he asked.

“How much of that shit in the bible is true?” I asked taking another drag off my cigar.

“Not enough in today’s books” he replied before turning around and walking down the alley.

I walked to the parking lot with one thought in mind. Whenever angels make contact with humans it’s said that it’s never an accident, and they teach people lessons. What lesson was I about to learn? If I only knew.

I got in my car and started toward Emricks place. The voice in my head staying oddly silent. When I got to his apartment complex there were junkies sitting outside.

As I approached the door one of them asked me “Hey man you got two dollars? I’m trying to get a beer” I glanced at the guy. He was a dirty beat up old man who had seen more sun than necessary.

I figured what the hell. He was honest about it. I pulled out two dollars from my wallet and handed it to him, and like ants surrounding a melting piece of chocolate the group crowded around me, each asking for spare change.

I should have known. “Sorry!” I shouted “that was my last two dollars”.

I stepped inside the complex and made my way upstairs with two thoughts competing in my mind.

One, what did Emrick have for me, and two, what lesson was I going to learn. I put the second thought in the vault when I knocked on his door.

He answered with a “Hey Crow!” I nodded and stepped inside. He lead me to the back room where he had a cloth covering what looked to be a huge box.

“You are not going to believe this” he said as he approached the box.

“Believe what?” I asked while taking a drink from my flask.

“This!” He said while he pulled the cloth off of what I thought was a box. Turns out it was a fish tank, and inside was a single dark brown toad.

I stared at the toad for a minute. Not quite sure what to say.

“You brought me here for a toad?” I asked

“Not just any toad” he exclaimed “Bufo Alvarius”

I looked at him. “Aaaaannnnnd?”

“Aaaaannnnd this little bastard produces a venom known as 5-MeO-DMT”

I suddenly realized the importance of this frog. “What?”

“See this guy here has venom glands that produce some of the most potent DMT you will ever smoke. All you gotta do is milk the glands on a piece of glass like this” he said as he pulled a glass panel out from under his bed. It was coated lightly in this yellowish grime.

“Scrape it off with a razor, and then smoke it and trip fucking balls for twenty minutes” he explained while scrapping the powder off the glass.

I already knew what we were about to do. I had never heard of this before, but if it was a potent psychedelic I wanted to try it. Depending on drug you can really make strong connections to the fourth and fifth dimensions in a way our minds can process.

He packed a bong with this powder, and I sat down bracing myself. He handed it to me and said “You know what to do”.

I took the first hit, and I started to realize immediately that I was a very very well done 3D animated cartoon. Have I always been a cartoon? Well I am now so I guess I’ll just be a cartoon, being watched by some kind of omniscient being.

I took the second hit, and similar to my first time doing DMT I felt sudden G forces hitting my body as if I was being shot into space on a rocket at high speeds. Everything around me was shaking and collapsing and the only constant was the deafening noise.

I used all my strength and got that third hit, and that’s when I broke through to this other space. The G force stopped, and I was drifting in a void. It was cold, and there was a sense of loneliness.

I started seeing something shining in the distance. I was moving towards something. As I got closer I realized what I was looking at. It was a sun, and stars, and planets. I suddenly realized I was in the center of the universe. That’s when the planets started moving around the sun.

Some of them exploded into beautiful fractals others morphed into living things, but the sun stayed still. Centered in my vision. I watched the sun burn and planets turn into beautiful fourth dimensional beings constantly changing their forms. I felt like they were made out of love and understanding.

However, I suddenly got a sinking feeling. The beings began to flee and I wondered why. I felt this hate growing stronger and stronger with every passing moment.

“Turn around” said the voice in my head. As glad as I was to hear it again I couldn’t turn around. Like a child I was frozen stone still.

“Jason, don’t be afraid, you’ll come back” said the voice.

Almost in tears I turned around and what I saw mortified me. It was the size of the universe, and the only thing it was made of was hate. Pure utter hate. Hatred for life. For existence. Pure hatred.

It had one eye the size of a thousand suns that shined a sickening infection looking color. Its black mass of a body ended in long flowing appendages. What looked like tenticals. I saw it’s mouth open and inside was a black hole that sucked up everything that it got near.

I could somehow hear the beast with eyes, and smell it with my ears. Taste it with my fingers. It was made of everything I ever feared. I smelled like licorice, and tasted like cough syrup.

I opened my eyes hoping the sight of my friend even if he looked like a six armed god from Hinduism would calm me down, but when I opened my eyes the vision wouldn’t fade. I couldn’t escape. It was heading straight for me, it was going to swallow me and there was nothing I could do. I was going to die and-

“Jason!” shouted Emrick.

Snapping back to reality I realized I was laying on the floor of Emricks apartment.

“You okay?” He asked.

All I could do was nod and ask “What happened?”

“I don’t know” he said. “You just collapsed and started mumbling to yourself. I’ve never seen you do that before”.

I stood up and took a heafty drink from my flask. “How much does that cost?”

He laughed “You really want more of that?”

I nodded. He looked at me and said “One hundred a gram, but for you man eighty five”

I forked over the two fifty five and got three grams of the stuff. I had to do it again.

That may have been a bad trip, but even bad trips have insight, and I wanted to see what insight this had in store for me.

I spent a little more time at my dealers apartment, giving the junkies time to scatter before I went back to my car. Emrick sat down and starting hitting the bong I had dropped in the floor. He was going to enjoy his own trip from hell.

Now that I had known what surprise Emrick had for me the only thoughts in my head now were “What do those visions mean?” and “What lesson is that angel going to teach me”.

Those thoughts were wrestling for dominance in my mind the entire drive home. I couldn’t even mix a cocktail that night. Only pour a glass of Monkey’s Shoulder scotch.

I sat in my chair, staring at the bag of DMT when I got a call on my home phone. I decided to let the answering machine pick it up.

“Alexander, its Eric” Ah Eric. The detective that worked in vice. Why would he be calling me this late?

“We busted this woman on coke, but we found a few things in her house that I want you to come take a look at. It’s got your background written all over it.

I grunted and picked up the phone. “Eric, it’s a little late. Besides they told you and Grif you weren’t supposed to consult with me”.

“Yeah, well, I just felt like this one is something you might want to look into. It’s definitely your area of knowledge” he waited for me to reply. I just sighed and downed my drink.

“Crow?”

“I’ll be at the rear of the station in 20 minutes. Bring me everything you found. I’ll get back to you in a few days” I barked at the detective.

He may have been a cop, but he was a bit of a pushover. Not Grif though. He worked homicide and he did not fuck around. Whenever I worked with him I had to follow his orders. At least I did back then.

The drive there was tiring. I was already a little drunk, and the DMT trip still had lingering effect on my mind. It had mortified me, and I wasn’t used to DMT doing that.

When I arrived at the rear of the station Eric was waiting for me. In his arms he held a wooden box, but I didn’t have a good look at it while I was pulling in.

I popped my trunk, and Eric brought the box to my car, put in my trunk, and left. Thankfully he was used to my antisocial ideology. Grif, however, was not. He would make me talk to him, tell him everything I was going to do blah blah blah. He really knows how to irritate a guy.

On the drive home I took a detour. Decided to stop at a diner and get a bite to eat. One of those twenty four hour joint’s that always welcome you.

When I walked in the place was empty except for an older woman working the counter. She had salt and pepper hair, sporting a green vest, and white T shirt.

I sat at a stool and decided to slip a nip from my flask. “Hey!” shouted the older woman.

I looked over at her. “No drinking in our restuarant” she said sternly.

“Yes ma’am” I said putting away my flask.

“This guy givin’ you problems?” asked the rather big gentleman with the apron.

The older woman just shook her head and walked over with a notepad. “What can we get ya?” she asked.

“Just a burger with nothing but a few onion rings on it, and uh” I looked at the menu. “You got a blueberry milkshake?”

It wasn’t long before I had my food and my drink at my disposal. I was chowing away when I got a text.

I opened up my phone and saw a text from Coco.

“Crow, I need to get in touch with you as soon as I can”

I replied

“Aw connecting with me so soon. I’m touched”

“This is important”.

I sighed, took a drink of milkshake and left a 20 on the counter. “Keep the change” I told the woman on my way out.

“Where do you want to meet?”

“At that bar you love so much”.

When I got there she was already there. Now let me set the scene for you.

Coco was dark skinned beauty in a red dress, with long silky black hair, and her make up was perfect. She knew she was attractive, so I liked to play her ego to my advantage.

“Coco!” I shouted as I made my way to her.

“Hey Crow” she said before slamming a shot of what looked like vodka. Knowing her strawberry vodka.

“Damn Coco you look fantastic, I tell ya what when I get home I’m gonna rip the Beyonce poster down” I said with what would probably be a shit eating grin like Elijah had.

She giggled and said “Does that line ever work?”

“Never tried it before. How was it?”

“Sub par” she said, but I could tell from her repeated giggling that it somewhat worked.

“Crow I’m going to be leaving town for about a week, and an exorcist was just taken off the streets. She got arrested” my thoughts trailed off from her immediately.

Could that be what Eric was wanting to show me? Could he have found an exorcist? No way.

“Do you think you can handle that?” Coco asked

“Handle what?” I looked at her like a moron.

“You idiot can you handle watching the town for a couple days while I’m seeing my brother?”

“Oh of course. I just have something I have to look into for tonight” I replied.

“Okay great. Thanks eric” she said before she hurried out of the bar.

“Hey Mr Crow”.

I looked at the bartender.

“It’s closing time”.

I got back home exhausted and carrying a heavy box. By the time I made it to my office I was ready to collapse, but I had to see what was in that box.

When I inspected the box I began to realize what I was looking at. The box was engraved with sigils, and something told me when I opened it I would see everything needed for a basic exorcist kit.

And that’s exactly what I did find. Everything someone would need to deport quite a few different types of spirits.

Books filled with different sigils used for different rituals performed by this woman. Old folk magic and remedies that are there mostly to protect you from harm. She was new to the game but prepared, and she got busted dealing coke.

At the bottom of the box I found something very interesting. In place of a rosary there was a necklace. With a tube filled with what I assumed was her mothers ashes from the “Mom” engraved in the metal.

See I suppose I should explain what an exorcist is, and the basic idea of magic.

You see, magick is anything you do with intent on making the universe work in your favor, and unless you’re very adapt in it you can’t expect it to perform huge miracles in a hurry. Rather subtle coincidences that line up to recieving your desired outcome. To put it basically in a broad term.

Exorcists in the simplest of terms possible is someone who banishes what we call spirits and demons back to their dimension. Some people think only people with certain religious beliefs can be exorcists. That’s not true.

See real exorcists and demon hunters can be any faith. Just like with magick can be anything you do to make the universe work in your favor. Whatever beliefs you have will give you power to work in the universe. Now knowing that not just anyone can be an exorcist.

You have to have it in your blood. You have to be born with a gift. The ability to percieve the fourth and fifth dimensions even for a moment. If you’re able to understand what seeing a fifth dimensional being is like you’re golden, but if you’re not I probably won’t be able to explain it to you. You perceive everything in a different way.

Psychedelics get you very close but not quite all the way there, and the worst part is, is unless you have seen it, and felt it yourself. It’s something that can’t be examined.

Now the magick I preform is vast. I’ve studied many different forms of magick and found with experimentation what works best for me. Sigil magick, and invocation being my primary go to.

Now if you want to ask me my faith. Well. I believe In what I’ve seen. I don’t know where I’m going when I die, or what it’s going to be like, but I’m not looking forward to it.

I wish I had time to finish this post, but it’s seven AM and I have yet to fall asleep. I’m going to go get some rest and I’ll be back to finish this story as soon as possible. I hope you stay safe out there folks. .
