Chapter 39
THE EVENT BEGINS
“GOOD EVENING, EVERYONE!”
The jounalist’s voice boomed.
“We are at the most anticipated event of the year! The event of our country’s pride—BANGTAN’S EVENT!
“The biggest names in politics, business, and entertainment are here, are you all ready to capture every second of this historic night???”
The air was electric.
The entire nation was watching.
The event was being broadcast live to millions.
All the media was reporting everything.
The journalist continued, his voice filled with enthusiasm.
“Tonight, the world is watching as the legendary Kim family prepares to make a groundbreaking announcement. As Kim Yoonseong mentioned, there is a secret and the announcement he will reveal tonight, and the anticipation is SKY-HIGH!”
“Is it about the youngest Kim?”
“Is it about business?”
“Or… is it about the Kims’ personal lives?”
Speculation ran wild.
The reporters fought for the best angles, the cameras zoomed in, the guests exchanged glances—some excited, some nervous.
Something big was coming.
And every single person in that hall could feel it.
This wasn’t just an event.
This was a night that would change everything.

Inside the massive auditorium, the atmosphere was electric. The grand venue was filled with powerful figures—celebrities, business tycoons, foreign dignitaries, the president, politicians, and some of the most influential people in the world.
Reporters stood poised, cameras flashing non-stop as they captured every moment of the event.
At the center of it all, the host stood tall, holding the mic with enthusiasm.
“GOOD EVENING, EVERYONE!” his voice boomed through the speakers, sending a ripple of excitement across the hall.
“WELCOME TO THIS GREAT, GREAT, GREAT EVENT OF BANGTAN! ARE YOU GUYS EXCITED???”
A deafening “YESSSS!!!” echoed through the hall, shaking the very walls of the venue.
The host grinned. “SO, OUR BANGTAN FAMILY IS HERE! CAN WE GIVE THEM A GRAND WELCOME??”
The entire crowd erupted in applause, the energy in the air turning electric.
Suddenly, the lights dimmed.
All eyes turned toward the grand entrance.
A single spotlight illuminated the entrance as the host’s voice rang out.
“SO, LET’S WELCOME THE MAN HIMSELF—OUR NATION’S PRIDE, OUR INSPIRATION—KIM YOON-SEONG!”
The doors swung open.
Kim Yoon-seong stepped inside, his bright, confident smile lighting up the hall. He walked with an air of authority, exuding power and dominance with each step. Dressed in a sleek black designer suit, he carried himself with unshakable confidence.
He waved at the crowd before making his way to the stage. He bowed slightly—a mere formality—and took his seat at the center.
“NOW, LET’S WELCOME THE CO-CHAIRMAN OF BANGTAN—KIM HYUNWOO!”
The crowd once again burst into applause as Kim Hyunwoo entered.
Unlike Yoon-seong, Hyunwoo bowed deeply to the audience, showing his gratitude. His aura was strong yet warm, a man who commanded respect not just with power, but with sincerity.
He walked to the stage and took his place beside Kim Yoon-seong.
“NOW, GET READY TO WITNESS THE ARRIVAL OF OUR DASHING YOUNG CEOS!”
“LET’S WELCOME THE BACKBONE OF BANGTAN—THE CEOS—KIM SEOKJIN, KIM YOONGI, KIM NAMJOON, AND KIM HOSEOK!”
(Don’t ask me why hoseok is mentioned as CEO. He is the CEO of medical fields and some branches of Bangtan)
The moment their names were called, the entire auditorium roared with applause.
The four men walked in sync, their confidence undeniable. Their sharp, tailored suits defined their powerful presence, their bright smiles making them look like true kings.
As they reached the stage, they bowed deeply to the audience. The camera flashes doubled—the world couldn’t get enough of them.
“NOW, LET’S WELCOME OUR YOUNGEST KIMS—THE CHARMING AND CHARISMATIC KIM TAEHYUNG AND KIM JIMIN!”
At that moment, the crowd went insane.
The cheers and screams grew louder, echoing throughout the venue.
Taehyung and Jimin walked in, their bright, boyish smiles stealing hearts effortlessly. They looked stunning, exuding both grace and playfulness.
They bowed deeply before taking their places beside their hyungs.
“AND LASTLY, TO COMPLETE OUR BANGTAN FAMILY—THE QUEEN HERSELF IS ARRIVING!”
“THE CEO OF QUEENS, THE UNTOUCHABLE BEAUTY—MISS PARK HAEIN!”
The crowd went wild.
As Haein entered, the energy in the room shifted.
She walked in elegantly, dressed in a stunning, black gown that shimmered under the lights. Her presence was undeniable, her aura intoxicating.
Men and women alike stared in awe.
Cameras clicked nonstop.
She smiled brightly, radiating confidence as she gracefully walked up the stage. She bowed deeply, her movements graceful and regal.
For a moment, time seemed to freeze.
Among the sea of applause, Kim Seokjin’s breath hitched.
His eyes locked onto Haein, his heartbeat thundering in his chest.
She was stunning. Ethereal. Unreal.
His fingers curled slightly, his usually calm expression betraying the slightest hint of emotion.
What was this feeling?
As she took her place on the stage, the event had officially begun.
And none of them knew—
This night would change everything.
THE EVENT BEGINS—TENSIONS BENEATH THE GLAMOUR
The host beamed, turning towards the audience. “AND HERE THEY ARE—OUR BANGTAN FAMILY! LET’S GIVE THEM A ROUND OF APPLAUSE!”
The crowd erupted into cheers, the excitement in the air reaching its peak.
The nine stood tall, their presence commanding.
“2, 3! Annyeonghaseyo, we are Bangtan!” they greeted in unison, bowing deeply.
The hall filled with deafening applause and cheers from the audience.
Taking the mic with practiced ease, Kim Yoonseong stepped forward. His smile was bright, but his eyes carried an edge—one that only those who knew him well could recognize.
“Good evening, everyone… Welcome to this grand event.” His voice was calm, confident, and calculated. “I truly appreciate each and every one of you for being here tonight. It means a lot. Thank you.”
He paused, scanning the room before continuing.
“Now, the reason I arranged this event…” He smiled again, an air of self-importance surrounding him. “It is to celebrate the tremendous success of Bangtan across the world. Our growth, our influence—it is something worth honoring.”
More applause followed.
“I am deeply grateful,” Yoonseong continued. “To my workers, to my people. But most importantly… to my family.”
His gaze flickered to the people on stage beside him.
“Haein,” he called, shifting attention toward her. “She is also part of my family—like a daughter to me.”
Haein mentally rolled her eyes, but years of experience had trained her well. She forced a perfectly poised smile, one that hid the irritation bubbling beneath her skin.
“So, shall we celebrate?” Yoonseong asked, raising his glass slightly.
The hall exploded with cheers, and the event officially began.
As the celebration continued, various speakers took the stage.
One of Bangtan’s senior executives along with the CEOs spoke about the company’s accomplishments. The President himself gave a short yet powerful speech about the significance of Bangtan’s contributions. Several businessmen and celebrities followed, each expressing their admiration and excitement.
As the speeches concluded, Kim Yoonseong himself took the stage once more, giving a carefully crafted speech filled with self-congratulatory praise.
Once that was over, it was time for greetings and networking.
Meanwhile, the event was being broadcasted live. Millions of people were watching—including Jungkook and Park Eunwoo.
Jungkook laid in his room, eyes glued to the screen, analyzing every moment, every interaction.
Eunwoo, watching from another location, leaned forward, his expression unreadable.
Back at the event…
Kim Yoonseong stood proudly, greeting various businessmen. One man approached him with a polite smile.
“How have you been, sir?” the businessman asked.
Yoonseong returned the smile. “I’m doing well. Why should I worry when I have my sons around me?”
He spoke with pride, and beside him, Jin and Taehyung smiled, though their expressions held different meanings.
The businessman turned to Jin. “You are just like your father, Seokjin. Handling things so well. You’ve done a great job assisting him.”
Jin smiled politely, offering a nod.
Then, the businessman turned to Taehyung. “And what about you, Taehyung? When will you be joining Bangtan?”
Taehyung hesitated for a second but quickly responded with a bright smile. “I’m studying architecture, uncle.”
The businessman’s smile faltered. His gaze flickered toward Yoonseong.
“Sir, You allowed him to study architecture?” he asked, his tone carrying an edge of disbelief.
Yoonseong forced a smile, his eyes momentarily narrowing. “Yes, I allowed it. I let him follow his wish… both he and Jimin. They love what they do.”
Though his words were supportive, his tone was anything but.
Taehyung felt the shift immediately. He knew that look—the silent disapproval behind his father’s eyes.
Jin, standing beside Taehyung, didn’t miss the change in his brother’s expression.
He saw the way Taehyung’s smile faded—how the sparkle in his eyes dimmed ever so slightly.
And Jin hated it.
He tightened his hold on Taehyung’s hand reassuringly.
Taehyung turned to him, and for a second, their eyes met. A silent conversation passed between them.
Jin smiled at him—a real smile. Taehyung, after a moment, returned it.
The businessman, oblivious to the tension, continued. “But still—”
“Uncle,” Jin cut in smoothly, his voice carrying the slightest hint of sarcasm. “Don’t worry. Architecture is his dream, and he pursued it because he’s good at it. That’s why he chose it.”
Jin’s expression remained polite, but his words were sharp. “The same goes for Jimin. Do you have a problem with that?”
The businessman’s smile dropped. He quickly shook his head. “Of course not, I was just curious.”
Yoonseong’s expression darkened for a split second. His jaw clenched, but he said nothing.
Without waiting for a response, Jin grabbed Taehyung’s wrist and smoothly guided him away.
“Come on, Tae,” he said, his tone light but his grip firm.
Taehyung followed, a small, grateful smile forming on his lips.
Behind them, Yoonseong watched—his gaze sharp, calculating.
And at that moment, it was clear—
Something was brewing beneath the surface.
Something that, once revealed, would change everything.
The event had been going smoothly. Smiles, conversations, and celebration filled the grand auditorium.
But Jin’s mind was elsewhere.
His gaze kept drifting toward Haein, who was speaking to someone across the room. He wanted to talk to her, to apologize for his behavior yesterday. But she wouldn’t even look at him.
She ignored him completely.
Jin sighed. He had no right to be upset. He deserved it.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Kim Yoonseong’s voice echoed through the grand hall.
“ARE YOU ALL READY FOR THE ANNOUNCEMENT?” he asked, his voice filled with excitement.
The crowd erupted in cheers.
The media’s cameras immediately focused on Kim Yoonseong, capturing every movement, every word. The eight standing beside him—Jin, Yoongi, Namjoon, Hoseok, Jimin, Taehyung, Hyunwoo, and Haein—looked at him in anticipation.
Yoonseong paused, building suspense.
Then, with a confident smile, he spoke.
“Bangtan is at the top, and we are ready to expand worldwide!”
The crowd erupted. Applause and cheers filled the air.
But what he said next changed everything.
“And… my eldest son, Kim Seokjin, will be leading this expansion—along with Yoongi, Namjoon, and…”
He turned slightly, looking at Haein.
“Haein.”
Gasps filled the room.
Jin, Yoongi, Namjoon, and Haein froze.
This… was unexpected.
They had all assumed Yoonseong himself would take control of the expansion. But instead, he had handed the responsibility to them. The responsibility of the difficult thing.
Haein’s breath hitched.
She was going to work with them?
Her hands clenched at her sides, but she maintained her expression—calm, unreadable.
Kim Yoonseong continued, unfazed by their shock.
“And we are opening hospitals!” he declared. “Guess what? Every treatment will be 50% off! Bangtan hospitals will have the best doctors—including Hoseok and Woo-shik!”
Thunderous applause followed.
The audience cheered, impressed by the announcement. It was a massive move.
But… something felt off.
The eight standing beside Kim weren’t cheering.
Their eyes remained fixed on him, their minds racing.
And then—
Kim Yoonseong smiled.
A slow, knowing smile.
“So… are you all ready for the BIGGEST SECRET of the night?”
The crowd went wild. The excitement was palpable.
But on stage, the eight felt an unfamiliar sense of dread creeping in.
Kim Yoonseong didn’t continue right away. Instead, he paused, letting the anticipation build.
Then, in a low, deliberate voice, he said—
“Give me just two minutes.”
He turned, walking toward the entrance.
The cameras followed him closely, capturing every step.
All eyes were on him.
Jin’s heartbeat quickened.
Taehyung’s fingers curled into fists.
Yoongi’s jaw clenched.
Jimin felt cold despite the heat of the spotlights.
Haein stood still, her entire body tense.
Namjoon exchanged a wary glance with Hoseok.
Something was wrong.
The lights dimmed.
A single spotlight focused on the entrance.
The room fell into a heavy silence.
The media cameras flashed non-stop.
The screen behind them split open.
And then—
Kim Yoonseong stepped back into the hall… holding someone’s hand.
The moment they saw the figure beside him—
Jin, Taehyung, Yoongi, Hobi, Namjoon, Jimin, Haein, and Hyunwoo…
Froze.
Their eyes widened in pure, unfiltered shock.
The air in the room felt thick, suffocating.
A deep, sinking feeling settled in their stomachs.
And at that moment—
They realized what betrayal truly felt like.
“Appa, is it about Jungkook?” Yoongi’s voice was sharp, urgent.
Hyunwoo turned to him, shaking his head. “I don’t know, Yoongi-ah. Hyung said he wouldn’t say anything about Jungkook. I think it’s not about him, so don’t worry.”
.
.
“Dad, is it about Jungkook? Are you… are you revealing him to the world?” Jin’s voice was laced with fear.
Kim Yoonseong’s eyes held no hesitation. “No, Jin. It’s not about Kook.”.
.
.
Hyunwoo stepped closer, his voice low. “Hyung, is it about Jungkook?”
Kim Yoonseong smiled—calm, composed, unreadable. “No, Hyunwoo. It’s not about him.”
.
.
“Uncle. Is it about Jungkook?” Her fists clenched at her sides. “I swear, if it is—Kim is gone.”
She took a sharp breath before continuing. “He knows the consequences of revealing Jungkook. He knows what will happen if he makes a stupid decision. So tell me right now. Is this about Jungkook?”
Hyunwoo, sensing her anger, tried to calm her down.
“Haein-ah, I asked him multiple times. He said it’s not about Jungkook. Don’t worry, nothing will happen to our Kook. I’m sure he wouldn’t do that.”
Haein’s teeth clenched. She didn’t believe it.
And the moment Kim stepped into the hall, holding someone’s hand—
They knew they had been lied to.
“J-J-Jungkook?” Taehyung’s voice cracked, his body frozen in place.
Haein took an unsteady step forward, her vision blurring. “K-K-Kookie…?”
The grand auditorium, once filled with laughter and excitement, fell into stunned silence.
The only sounds were the whispers spreading like wildfire through the crowd.
The media cameras went wild, flashing in every direction. Every angle. Every moment captured.
There he was.
Kim Jungkook.
The boy the world didn’t know existed.
The hidden youngest son of the Kim family.
His hand was wrapped in a white bandage, barely hidden beneath the sleeve of his expensive black suit. His fingers trembled slightly, but his face remained blank.
His skin was pale.
His eyes were hollow.
He wasn’t holding Kim Yoonseong’s hand.
Kim Yoonseong was holding his.
Forcing him forward.
Forcing him into the light.
The cameras wouldn’t stop.
People wouldn’t stop whispering.
Shock. Betrayal. Rage.
It rippled through every single person on that stage.
Yoongi’s hands were clenched into fists. His eyes burned with an anger he could barely contain.
Jin’s breath hitched. His mind screamed at him to move, to grab Jungkook, to pull him away—
But he couldn’t move.
His feet felt like stone.
Namjoon’s heartbeat pounded painfully in his ears.
Taehyung…
Taehyung felt his entire world shatter.
Haein, standing there frozen, felt something inside her break.
He lied.
Kim Yoonseong lied.
He promised he wouldn’t do this.
He promised Jungkook wouldn’t be revealed.
But here he was.
Standing under the bright lights.
Looking like he wanted to disappear.
