Everyone was in the backyard. Jin was frying pork, focused and calm as usual.

“Tae, go and bring Jungkook,” Yoongi said, sipping his drink.

Taehyung nodded, still munching on a strawberry as he headed inside.

He knocked on the door.
“Come in,” he heard Jungkook call out.

Opening the door, he saw Jungkook drying his hair with a towel.

“Feeling better?” Tae asked.
Jungkook hummed in response.

“Dinner’s ready. Come on,” Tae said.

Jungkook nodded and put the towel back on the chair.

They went downstairs, “No one’s here?” he asked, noticing the empty dining table.

“They’re in the backyard,” Tae replied.
Jungkook nodded again.

“Wait a minute,” Tae added, rushing to grab some juice bottles from the kitchen.

Jungkook saw tae carrying it and he silently took two bottles from tae. Tae smiled at him.

Together, they made their way to the backyard.
.
.
.

“Oh Kook, you came! How are you feeling?” Hobi asked with a warm smile.

“Fine,” Jungkook replied quietly, placing the juice bottle on the table. His eyes scanned the backyard, soft yellow lights glowing above them, laughter bubbling around, and the gentle chill of the evening wrapping everything in calm. It was peaceful, too peaceful…

He walked toward the swing, where Namjoon was already sitting.

Namjoon smiled at him, patting the space beside him. Jungkook sat down without a word, pulling his sleeves over his hands as he looked ahead, deep in thought.

Jk saw all being cozy and having a smile on their face. He saw the duo fighting again, he looked at all.

“Yah! You’re supposed to pour it slowly, pabo. You spilled it!” Jimin scolded, frowning as juice dripped from the side of the glass.

“Ahh, I didn’t! It was your fault for handing it to me late!” Taehyung argued back, making a dramatic face.

“Stop blaming me for everything!” Jimin huffed, trying to wipe the table.

Namjoon chuckled and said “you are the youngest here, but they act like that” Jungkook just kept silent.

“Dinner is ready,” Jin announced with a cheerful smile.

“Kook, let’s go,” Namjoon said warmly.
Jungkook nodded and followed him to the backyard dining table, which looked cozy and inviting with soft lights glowing around and the crisp evening breeze adding comfort.

Jin and Yoongi began serving the food to everyone. Jin gently placed a glass of fresh juice in front of Jungkook.

“Eat fully, hmm? Slowly, and finish everything,” Jin said softly.

Jungkook simply nodded and picked up his spoon. As he began eating quietly, the others started eating too, chatting and joking among themselves.

“Here, Kook, eat the fries too,” Taehyung said, placing a few crispy pork fries into Jungkook’s bowl.

Jungkook gave a slight nod and took a bite. He stayed quiet, eating at his own pace, but after a few minutes, his spoon slowed down and eventually he started playing with the food.

Jin, sitting beside him, noticed right away. “Jungkook, eat,” he said in a softly tone.

Jungkook glanced at him, he nodded and took another spoon, non willingly.

Jin glanced at Jungkook again who was again playing with it while being in thoughts.

“kook… Don’t have appetite?” Jin asked softly. Jungkook glanced at Jin and looked down and nodded.

“But still you need to eat kook.” Jin said but the next moment Jungkook stood up and said “I am full” he said and was about to go but yoongi held his hand andade him sit again.

“Finish it and go hmm?” Yoongi said softly, jk gulped slightly at yoongi’s words. He looked at Jin like lost puppy and said “I… am full.” He said.

“You can eat it. Don’t skip your meals when you are upset” Jin said as he noticed him.

“I am not upset” Jungkook said huffing like a baby. He took his spoon and took a bite and ate while poiting angrily. The others chuckled at his cuteness. Jungkook glared at them.

Jungkook simply rolled his eyes and resumed eating. The others laughed again, amused by jk’s cuteness..

Jin sighed and began eating as well, though his eyes kept flicking toward Jungkook, who had once again started playing with his food.

With another sigh, jin reached over and took Jungkook’s bowl.

Jungkook looked at him in confusion. “What are you doing?” he asked his voice showed how much annoyed he was.

“You don’t listen to words anyway,” jin muttered with a smile and scooped a spoonful of rice with meat, holding it in front of Jungkook.

“I’m not a baby that you need to feed me,” Jungkook said, huffing.

“Nae nae, you’re not a baby… you’re a big baby who won’t listen” jin replied with a teasing smirk.

Jungkook scoffed and turned his head away. The others chuckled at the exchange, watching the scene fondly.

“He’s so cute,” Jimin whispered, but loud enough for everyone to hear.

Jungkook shot a glare at him. Jimin quickly looked down, trying not to laugh.

“Here, open your mouth,” jin said again, bringing the spoon closer.

“I said I can eat by myself,” Jungkook whined, shoulders dropping in defeat. All chuckled again. They were happy to see their jungkook whining and being cute again.

“Open,” jin insisted, firm but gentle.

With a long sigh, Jungkook finally opened his mouth. Jin fed him, and Jungkook accepted it like a grumpy little kid forced to take medicine. Jin chuckled at him

Everyone watched with soft smiles on their faces, the scene radiating warmth.

“Stop admiring him and eat your own food,” jin said still looking at jungkook.

The others chuckled again and turned back to their plates, still smiling as they dug in.

Jungkook glanced around at all of them, slightly confused at their reactions, but there was a small comfort in seeing their gentle smiles.

He sighed and after the food. “See you finished it. Now drink the juice.” Jin said. Jk glared at him and started drinking it.

Once he was done, he went to his room without a word. All chuckled and tae said while smiling. “he is soo cute”

“Nae nae he is” jin said as he continued to eat his food.

They continued eating while chatting with eat.

Once they completed their food, they went inside. “Hyung when appa will come?” Jimin asked to jin. “He will come soon” jin said while sipping his juice.

A few minutes later, Hyunwoo entered the mansion, carrying a bag in his hand.

“Oh, you all are here,” he said, looking at them.

“Where’s Jungkook?” he asked.

“He’s in his room,” Taehyung replied.

Hyunwoo nodded and was about to head toward Jungkook’s room, but stopped when Jin called out. “Samchoon, what did the doctor say?”

Hyunwoo paused. After a few seconds of silence, he said, “I’ll speak to Jungkook and come,” then walked away without another word.

With Jungkook

He was sitting on his bed, scrolling through his phone when the door suddenly opened. He flinched, startled. Looking up, he saw Hyunwoo enter with a serious expression. Hyunwoo locked the door behind him and stepped inside.

“Ahh, what now?” Jungkook asked, clearly annoyed.

Hyunwoo didn’t say a word. Instead, he threw the blood test results and the bag onto the bed. Jungkook frowned and picked them up, confused. Before he could read them, he flinched again, Hyunwoo had begun opening the drawers of his table.

“Ahh, what are you doing?!” Jungkook asked, raising his voice.

“You’re asking what I’m doing, huh?” Hyunwoo snapped, yelling.

Jungkook swallowed hard, his eyes wide as he stared at Hyunwoo. He noticed the older man’s bloodshot eyes, anger, exhaustion, and something deeper swirling in them.

Still saying nothing, Hyunwoo began searching through the drawers. Finding nothing, he moved to the cupboard.

Jungkook’s breath hitched. He quickly stepped forward, trying to stop him.

Before Hyunwoo could open it, Jungkook grabbed his hand. “What are you doing?” he asked again, voice a little shaky.

“Move away,” Hyunwoo growled, yanking his arm free.

Jungkook flinched as Hyunwoo swung the cupboard open. He shoved aside some clothes, and something dropped to the floor.

Pills.

Jungkook froze. His breath caught in his throat.

Hyunwoo bent down, picked up the bottle, and stared at it, then at Jungkook.

“What is this, huh?” he asked. His voice wasn’t just angry, it was hurt, disappointed, and full of concern.

Jungkook looked away, refusing to answer.

“Don’t answer me, alright,” Hyunwoo said coldly. He turned and walked into the bathroom, turned on the tap, and dumped all the pills into the toilet before flushing them away. He tossed the empty bottle into the trash.

Jungkook stood silently, staring at the floor.

“Are you hiding them anywhere else?” Hyunwoo asked.

Jungkook slowly shook his head.

He knew he had made a mistake.
He had broken the promise he made to Hyunwoo.

Hyunwoo sighed and spoke in a calm tone as he sat down on the bed. “Jungkook, come and sit.”

Jungkook obeyed silently and sat beside him.

Hyunwoo gently took his hands, his expression softer now. “Why are you still taking those pills?” he asked quietly. “Still can’t sleep? Are the nightmares coming back?”

Jungkook stayed silent, eyes focused on the floor.

Hyunwoo sighed again. “Kook… I’m here for you. I care about you. Whether you believe it or not, we all do. You don’t have to go through this alone. Hiding your pain and suffering isn’t the solution, you know that.”

He squeezed Jungkook’s hand gently. “I told you clearly before, not to use those pills again. This is the last time I’ll say it, please… don’t do it anymore.”

Jungkook remained quiet, guilt settling in his eyes.

Hyunwoo exhaled and slowly ran his hand through Jungkook’s hair. “When did you get hit on your head, hmm?”

Jungkook looked at him, slightly startled. “Ani… I didn’t get hit anywhere,” he replied firmly.

Hyunwoo gave him a look. “The reports say it, Kook. You were clearly hit on the head, there’s an internal impact.”

Jungkook immediately shook his head. “Aniya, I didn’t, I swear I didn’t,” he said, his breathing growing a little uneven as he tried to convince him.

Hyunwoo stayed calm. “Think properly, Kook. If you really weren’t hit, how would the reports show this? Did hyung… did he hit your head? Maybe you forgot…”

Jungkook went quiet, thinking hard.

Then his eyes widened slightly. “Ahhh… that day… he kicked me that time I got” jungkook said.

“Why don’t you ever tell me anything, Jungkook? Do you enjoy suffering alone?” Hyunwoo asked, his voice filled with frustration and concern. “Your health is getting worse, both mentally and physically.”

Jungkook let out a bitter chuckle, though there was no humor in it.

“What, did the doctor say I’m going to die soon?” he asked, his voice laced with hurt and bitterness.

“Kim Jungkook,” Hyunwoo snapped, glaring at him. He quickly calmed himself, letting out a breath. “When did he drug you? Why didn’t you tell me?”

That was the final blow. Jungkook’s gaze locked with Hyunwoo’s, but his eyes were blank, void of any emotion.

“You think I don’t care about you?” Hyunwoo asked softly, the hurt visible in his eyes. “You know what those drugs can do. You know how much Suho fought fo–“

He stopped suddenly, realizing too late that he had mentioned Suho.

Hyunwoo sighed and looked away, cursing himself under his breath. He reached out, gently holding Jungkook’s trembling hand.

“You have me, Kook… please. I’m really scared. Scared that something will happen to you, not because of someone else, but because of you. If your hyungs find out what I’ve been hiding, they’ll kill both hyung and me. And honestly… I’m ready for that.”

He paused, voice cracking slightly.
“But please, care about yourself first. Don’t carry the blame for Suho’s death… or Hyesuk’s. It’s not your burden to bear.”

Jungkook’s teary, doe eyes met his. Silent pain filled the room.

“How can I not, huh?” Jungkook whispered before his voice rose. “I don’t fucking need anyone. I don’t want to fucking to kill someone again. I’m already wrecked! Why can’t you all just leave me? Let me fucking die… I can’t do this anymore!”

His voice broke. He took deep, shaky breaths, trying to calm himself as the words stuck in his throat.

“…Can you just leave me alone?” he finally said, his voice cold and distant.

Hyunwoo stood there, silent for a moment.

“Kook…” he began, but stopped when Jungkook suddenly shouted, “Go. Out.”

Hyunwoo sighed deeply. Slowly, he got up. He walked to the table, opened the medicine bag, picked out a few pills, and placed them down.

“Eat these… and sleep,” he said softly.

Then, without another word, he walked out, quietly closing the door behind him.

The door clicked shut, leaving the room in silence. Jungkook stood still, staring blankly at the pills on the table. His chest rose and fell rapidly, his breaths shallow and shaky.

His eyes burned, and before he could stop himself, hot tears spilled down his cheeks.

He slowly walked over to the table, picked up the pills, and stared at them like they were poisonous. With a trembling hand, he opened his drawer and shoved them in, slamming it shut as if that would make the pain disappear too. He again skipped the medicines.

“Why can’t I just be normal…” he whispered to himself, voice cracking. “Why can’t I forget…?”

He sat down on the edge of the bed, running his hands through his hair. His mind was spinning.

Suho hyungie.

Hyesuk eomma.

The screams.

The blood.

The weight of the past clung to him like chains, pulling him deeper.

He laid down, a silent tear left his eyes. Alone in the room, his mask finally cracked. He started crying silently but the hurt he held was too much.

“I didn’t mean to… I didn’t want any of it,” he whispered, his voice muffled by the pillow. “I didn’t want them to die…”

A long silence followed, only his soft sobs echoed in the dim room.

Minutes passed. Slowly, the sobs faded into sniffles. He laid there, exhausted and broken, staring at nothing. The warmth of the lights outside from the backyard party couldn’t reach him here. It felt like he was in a different world. Cold. Isolated.

He closed his burning eyes. Slowly sleep took over him.

Meanwhile, with Hyunwoo and Others

Hyunwoo was sitting on the couch, sipping his juice. Everyone was gathered around, waiting for him to speak.

Jin asked worriedly, “Samchoon, is everything alright?”

Hyunwoo looked at him and nodded, but he knew it was a lie.

“Jungkook is really that guy who never cares about his health,” Hyunwoo began with a sigh. “He skips his meals, and this time… he skipped his medicines too. That’s why he’s been getting frequent headaches an–“

He mentally cursed himself for slipping out the word frequent.

“Frequent?” Jin asked, his voice filled with immediate worry.

Hyunwoo sighed again and nodded slowly. “That’s why he had that sudden headache and fainted that day. The doctor just advised him to take his medication regularly and to eat properly. That’s it. Nothing much to worry about.”

He skipped over the emotional wreckage and the sufferings Jungkook was actually going through.

Still, all their faces held concern.

“Jin, can you keep a close eye on Jungkook?” Hyunwoo asked. “Even if he acts stubborn, he’s been very stubborn lately, just make sure he eats and takes his meds on time.”

The next moment, Jin responded firmly, “How can I not care about him, Samchoon? I’ll take really good care of him. From now on, you don’t have to worry about his health.”

“Yeah! You don’t need to,” Tae added quickly, his voice a little more mature than usual. “I’m also here. I’ll take care of my brother too.”

“Wahhh, Tae… you mended things with Jin? You both reconciled?” Hyunwoo asked, surprised.

“Nae,” Tae replied with a smile.

“Finally!” Hyunwoo chuckled. “I knew my bear would always come around and take care of his hyung and maknae.”

All of them laughed lightly at the warm moment.

“Big brother mode ON, huh?” Hobi teased.

Tae blushed and looked away shyly, earning more chuckles from the group.

After some more talking and laughter, they slowly began leaving the mansion one by one, heading back to their homes.

“Hyung, good night,” Tae said as he was going to sleep.

Jin smiled warmly. “Good night, bear.”

Tae grinned and walked to his room to sleep.

Jin remained on the couch, scrolling through his phone. His eyes caught an article headline:

“The DIKE’s CEO, Park Seokmin, is back in Korea. He claims their next step is to surpass Bangtan. Are the PARKS aiming to become the next Bangtan?”

Jin smirked at the headline before scrolling back his phone. After a few minutes, he got up and quietly headed upstairs. He decided to check on Jungkook.

He noticed the light in Jungkook’s room was still on. Gently, he opened the door and peeked inside. Jungkook was asleep, curled up like a baby. Jin stepped in quietly and walked over to his side.

On the table, he noticed the bag of medicines untouched. Jin sighed softlly seeing Jungkook skipping medicines again.

He sat beside Jungkook and gently brushed the younger’s sweaty hair from his face. That’s when he noticed the faint tear stains on Jungkook’s cheeks.

Worry filled Jin’s heart. “Every time I see your face, it looks paler than before. The spark is gone. Don’t tell me you’re fine when I know you’re not. I can feel it every time I’m near you. I’ll soon find it” Jin thought, caressing his dongsaeng’s hair gently.

He stood up, but fate wasn’t on his side, his toe hit the bed frame.

“Ahh,” he hissed, trying to muffle the pain. As he tried to steady himself by grabbing a nearby chair, he tripped slightly. The chair wobbled, nearly falling over, but he caught it just in time with a relieved sigh.

Only for that sigh to vanish when he heard a groggy voice behind him.

“What are you doing?” Jungkook asked, his voice raspy from sleep, eyes barely open as he sat up slowly.

Jin scratched his head awkwardly. “T-the light was on… I thought to check on you, that’s it. Mianhae,” he said with a nervous laugh.

Jungkook noticed Jin’s flustered tone and smiled a little… very little, before looking away.

Jin quietly put the chair back in place and pointed at the medicine bag. “You didn’t take your medicines, did you?” he asked softly.

Jungkook nodded and said. “I forgot.”

Jin sighed gently at the boy’s carelessness. “You shouldn’t skip your medicines, Jungkook.”

He picked up the bag and pulled out the pill boxes. His eyes widened at the number of them.

“All these?” he asked, stunned.

Jungkook chuckled and nodded, amused by Jin’s reaction.

Jin shook his head in disbelief. “Seriously… it’s a lot.” He placed the boxes aside and asked, “Where’s your medicine organizer box?”

Jungkook opened his drawer and pulled it out himself. Jin smiled and asked, “Which pills are you supposed to take now?”

Jungkook scratched his head. “I don’t know… I didn’t ask Hyunwoo-ssi.”

Jin let out a soft laugh and pulled out his phone, dialing Hyunwoo. “Umm… Samchoon, which pills should Jungkook take now?” he asked once the call was connected.

“He still didn’t take them?” Hyunwoo asked, sounding tired.

Jin hummed in response.

“It should be written on the paper inside the bag,” Hyunwoo said.

Jin nodded. “Nae, Samchoon.”

“Make sure he takes it,” Hyunwoo added.

Jin hummed before ending the call.

He opened the bag, found the instruction paper, and took out the pills accordingly, handing them to Jungkook with a glass of water.

Jungkook took them with a sigh.

Jin chuckled. “It’s for your health, Kook.”

Jungkook said nothing, just stayed quiet. Once he was done, Jin softly said, “Lie down now and get some sleep, hmm? You need proper rest.”

Jungkook nodded and laid down as told. Jin gently covered him with the blanket.

“Goodnight kookie” jin said warmly, jk gave a nod and closed his eyes. Jin smiled andeft from there after turning off the light.
