Chapter 82

Meanwhile with Jungkook

Once Jin left, Jungkook just sat there, turning his head away, wiping his tears silently. Yoongi sat beside him.

“Kook, that was harsh ba—” Yoongi started but was cut off when Jungkook said, “I don’t want to talk about that… please,” his voice low and trembling.

“O…okay. Can you eat now, hmm? You must be hungry,” Yoongi asked gently, getting up and taking the bowl of soup Haein had left.

“I…I don’t have an appetite,” Jungkook mumbled weakly.

Yoongi sighed and said, “Just a little, then you can sleep. The doctor said you have to eat, it’s for your health, Kook. Just a little, hmm?”

Jungkook shook his head, still not looking at Yoongi. Yoongi let out another soft sigh, then took a spoonful of soup near Jungkook’s mouth.

“I said I don’t want it,” Jungkook mumbled again, his voice tired and small. “Only if you eat, I’ll stop nagging you. So better eat… please,” Yoongi said in a softer tone, trying his best to coax him gently.

Jungkook finally looked at him, his tired, swollen eyes glistening with unshed tears.

“Hyung… p-please,” Jungkook whispered, his voice breaking slightly, tears beginning to fall.

Yoongi’s worry doubled seeing the younger tear up like that. “Hey, hey… why are you crying, baby? I’m sorry… but it’s necessary, that’s why I’m insisting,” Yoongi said, his voice calm and soothing.

Jungkook shook his head. “I… I really don’t have an appetite…” he whispered again.

Yoongi reached out, holding Jungkook’s hand gently. “Just a little, please? You need it, Kook. You can’t starve all day… You must be hungry,” Yoongi said, voice soft but firm, trying his best to comfort and encourage him.

Jungkook sighed. Yoongi took the spoon again and gently brought it near Jungkook’s mouth. Jungkook opened his mouth reluctantly. Yoongi smiled softly and fed him.

Jungkook’s eyes glistened the moment the soup touched his tongue, the familiar taste he hadn’t had in years. It was the food he missed the most… The food which was made by his noona is the most favourite for him. He bit his lips, trying to hold back his emotions. Yoongi continued feeding him silently, careful not to overwhelm the younger.

As Yoongi was feeding him, the door opened, revealing Jin. Without saying a word, Jin walked straight into the restroom. Both Yoongi and Jungkook looked at him, Yoongi with concern, Jungkook with quiet confusion.

Meanwhile, Jin stood in front of the mirror. His eyes were red, face flushed, tear stains visible on his cheeks. He sighed deeply and splashed cold water on his face, trying to compose himself. After washing his face, he came out, forcing a small smile.

“Oh, Kook… you’re eating,” Jin said, trying to sound cheerful. Jungkook simply nodded and took another bite from yoongi. Jin sat beside him and gently caressed his hair.

“Is it hurting a lot, baby?” Jin asked softly. Jungkook looked at him and shook his head as no

Jin nodded silently. Yoongi continued feeding him while Jungkook ate with a tired expression. Soon after, Jungkook shook his head, signaling he was enough.

“Just a little more, hmm?” Yoongi tried to coax him, but Jungkook shook his head again. Yoongi sighed and looked at Jin. “He barely ate…” he muttered.

Jin gently took the bowl from Yoongi. “Let me try.” He brought the spoon near Jungkook’s lips. Jungkook sighed but accepted a few more bites, then shook his head again, clearly full and exhausted.

Jin nodded in understanding and set the bowl aside. He took the medicines and handed them to Jungkook, he took it with water and djin helped him.

Jin gently caressed Jungkook’s hair and whispered, “Sleep, hmm?” Jungkook looked up at him, his red, glossy eyes filled with exhaustion and vulnerability. “I… I h-hate hospitals… C-can you take me h-home?” he asked, voice hoarse, trembling, and barely above a whisper.

Both Jin and Yoongi felt their hearts ache at his words. “I… I’ll ask the doctor,” Jin said quickly.

“P-please…” Jungkook mumbled, his voice breaking. That soft plea shattered Jin’s heart.

He nodded firmly, brushing Jungkook’s bangs away. “We’ll go soon, don’t worry. I’ll take you home,” he promised softly. Jungkook didn’t say anything else, just continued looking at his brother with tired, pleading eyes.

“Lie down, hmm? Take some rest while I talk to the doctor,” Jin said. Jungkook gave a small nod. Jin gently helped him lie down and pulled the blanket over him. He caressed Jungkook’s hair once more and added, “Don’t think about anything right now. Just close your eyes and sleep, baby.”

Jungkook obeyed silently, his eyes slowly shutting. Jin continued to pat his chest softly and stroke his hair, watching him until he was calm and still.

Turning to Yoongi, Jin whispered, “Take care of him. I’ll talk to the doctor and come back.”

Yoongi nodded and immediately took Jin’s place, gently stroking Jungkook’s hair and chest, offering him silent comfort.

Jin stepped out into the hallway and pulled out his phone, calling Dr. Hwang. The doctor picked up after a few rings.

“Hello, Mr. Kim,” Dr. Hwang greeted.

“Hello, Doctor. Jungkook said he wants to go home. Can I take him?” Jin asked carefully.

“Hm… I spoke to my assistant. He told me Jungkook’s vitals are stable, but he still has a high fever,” the doctor replied.

“Yes, his fever is still high… but I’ll take care of him at home. He doesn’t like hospitals,” Jin said.

“I understand. In that case, you can discharge him,” Dr. Hwang agreed. “But please make sure he stays calm at home, no stress, no physical strain, and absolutely no panic. He must eat his food, give him his medicines, and ensure he gets enough rest.”

Jin nodded to himself. “Yes, Doctor. I’ll take care of everything. Thank you.” “Of course. I’ll notify my assistant to prepare the discharge papers,” the doctor said before ending the call.

Jin sighed and slipped his phone into his pocket,

Jin sighed in relief and went to call the assistant doctor. After finishing the formalities, he returned to Jungkook’s ward.

When he entered, he saw Jungkook sleeping peacefully.

“He slept?” Jin asked softly. “Nae, hyung. He’s too tired,” Yoongi replied, glancing at the sleeping boy.

Jin nodded and sat beside Jungkook, gently caressing his hair. “He suffered so much without us…” Jin mumbled, his voice filled with regret.

Yoongi clenched his jaw, anger flashing in his eyes.

“I won’t leave that Kim this time. How dare he do this to his own son? He dragged him into that hell when he was just eleven… How could he?” Yoongi seethed, fists clenching.

“We’ll make sure he regrets it, Yoongi,” Jin said firmly. Then he asked, “What about the rivals from yesterday? Did you find anything?”

“Hmm… some of their men are in our base now. We’re trying to take some information from them,” Yoongi replied.

Jin nodded in acknowledgment. “What about noona? Is she okay?”

“I don’t know… she looked really sad,” Jin said, though he chose not to mention her breaking down in his arms.

Yoongi listened silently for a moment before asking with a slight smirk, “So… you cried too?” Jin quickly shook his head, clearly not ready to admit it.

Yoongi sighed. “You don’t need to hide your tears from me, hyung. You have me to lean on. Don’t bottle up your emotions all the time. It’s been years since I last saw you cry… I know this is really hard for you. But I swear, we’ll get through this.”

He looked at Jungkook, his voice softening. “Don’t worry. Our Kook has us now. He’s not going to suffer anymore. He has you, his hyung. And one day soon, he’ll truly understand how much his hyungs loves him… and how far that his hyung would go to protect him. He’s not alone anymore, hyung.”

“He has you, someone who’ll save him from everything. He has his Tae hyung and Jimin hyung, who’ll cheer him up, make him smile every day, and be his crime partners,” Yoongi said, his voice soft and filled with emotion. “He has his Yoonie, Hobi, and Joonie hyungs to whine to… to feel safe around. We’ll protect him always. He won’t be alone anymore. He has us, just like you do. And you shouldn’t hide your tears, hyung. You know how much I hate that. It’s our rule, we share our pain and happiness with each other. You can’t break that rule, hyung,” Yoongi said, his eyes glistening.

Jin looked at him, and for a moment, the strength he always wore cracked, his own eyes shimmering with tears that had already started to fall.

“Ahh… m…my Yoongs is really mature,” Jin whispered, voice trembling. “Nae… I have my brothers. I have you all.” Jin stood up and walked over to Yoongi, wrapping his arms tightly around him in a warm embrace. Yoongi smiled softly and hugged him back.

Jin wiped his falling tears and said, “I’m really thankful to have brothers like you all. So thankful…”

“Why are you thankful, hyung?” Yoongi asked gently. “We should be the ones thankful…for having such an amazing hyung like you.”

Jin chuckled and broke the hug. “Ahhh… I didn’t know a grumpy cat like you could make me cry.” he said playfully while wiping his tears.

Yoongi groaned, “Ahh, hyungie…” he whined playfully. Jin laughed quietly, warmth finally returning to his face.

Just then, the door opened, revealing the doctor. He walked in and gave Jungkook a final check.

“Hmm… he just needs rest,” the doctor said after a moment. “As I mentioned earlier, don’t let him strain himself or panic. Make sure he eats on time. He may feel dizzy throughout the day, and if the headache worsens, you can give him the painkillers I prescribed. There’s no more need for IV. Once this drip finishes, he can be discharged.”

Jin and Yoongi both let out a breath of relief as the doctor left.

Jin looked at Jungkook and said, “I hope he won’t cry or strain himself. He’s really distant… First, we should help him come out of his shell.” Yoongi nodded quietly. They both sat there, waiting for Jungkook to wake up and for the IV drip to finish.

Time Skips…

It was afternoon. Jungkook stirred in his sleep as he felt pain in his hand. His eyes fluttered open, and he saw a nurse removing the IV. His breath grew heavier, chest rising and falling in panic.

“Hey, hey, calm down, Kook. It’s okay. She’s just removing the IV, don’t worry,” Jin said softly, patting his chest gently.

Jungkook looked around and saw Jin beside him. Then his eyes landed on Yoongi etanding nearby. “H…Hyung…” he mumbled weakly. “nae kook, I’m here. I am here with you… I’m right here,” Jin replied, caressing Jungkook’s hair gently.

Jungkook’s breathing remained shallow. He winced in pain when the nurse slowly pulled the needle out of his arm. His eyes shut tightly from the sting.

Jin immediately took hold of his other hand, trying to comfort him. “Shh… it’s okay, it’s okay, baby. That’s it, you’re strong,” Jin whispered with calm reassurance.

The nurse quickly wrapped a bandage around Jungkook’s hand, then moved on to clean the other wound on his palm. She disinfected and bandaged it properly. Once finished, she bowed politely and left the room.

Jungkook slowly opened his eyes again, blinking up at his hyungs.

“Feeling any uneasiness, baby?” Jin asked softly, caressing Jungkook’s hair. Jungkook shook his head slowly, indicating a no.

“we can go home now, hmm? I talked to the doctor, they said you can,” Jin said cheerfully, smiling.

Jungkook stared at him and mumbled, “R-Really?” His voice was still weak, tired, and hoarse.

Jin nodded with a warm smile. “nae really.” Jungkook mumbled a small thank you. Jin smiled and asked “Do you want to change your clothes?”

Jungkook nodded tiredly. Jin helped him sit up gently. As Jungkook stood, Jin supported him carefully. “You want help?” Jin asked.

Jungkook shook his head, managing to stand straight, though his legs wobbled a little. “The clothes are inside, I brought them this morning,” Jin said, pointing to the bathroom.

Jungkook nodded again and walked toward the restroom. He felt a wave of dizziness but shrugged it off and kept going.

Inside, Jungkook splashed some cold water on his face. He looked at his reflection, eyes glistening, letting a silent tear fall down his cheek.

He stood there for a moment, silently crying, he was overwhelmed.. the way haein went out because of his harsh words which he didn’t meant to hurt her really but forcefully brought himself to threw those harsh words…

And yesterday what happened was also unforgettable for him… The way eunwoo threw harsh words on him. When he was chased by the enemies with no break shattered him deeply… How much pain he has to go through? And he still hated himself for forgetting his mom’s death day… How can he forget his eomma’s death day who literally sacrificed herself for him?

And his hyungs… The way they take care of him shatrerd him… ‘Why do I deserve this care and love from them? I don’t deserve this‘ was the only thought he had whenever they showed him the care. He was overwhelmed but he couldn’t break infornt of all.. he didn’t have that strength… He dkdnt have any tears anymore…

After crying for a while, he then changed into the cozy, warm clothes Jin had brought. After a deep breath, he stepped out? but stumbled slightly from dizziness.

Jin caught him immediately. “You okay? Is the dizziness too much?” he asked with concern. Jungkook shook his head slowly. “I… I’m fine,” he murmured.

Jin sighed, helping him sit down again. He offered Jungkook a glass of water, which Jungkook took and drank quietly.

Yoongi stood beside him, gently brushing his fingers through Jungkook’s hair. “You look exhausted,” he said softly. Jungkook didn’t reply. He just sat silently, eyes low.

When it was time to leave, Jin helped Jungkook stand. They both wore masks as they stepped out. Jin held Jungkook’s hand firmly, not letting go even for a second. Yoongi followed them, carrying Jungkook’s bag.

Time Skips…

They reached the mansion. The whole ride had been silent; Jungkook remained quiet the entire time. Jin helped him out of the car and into the house. As they entered, they saw Taehyung pacing in the living room worry on his face, dressed in a casual outfit.

Hearing the sound, Taehyung turned around. His eyes immediately landed on Jungkook, who looked pale and exhausted.

“Jungkook,” he mumbled, quickly walking over to him. “Are you okay? How are you feeling now, Kook? Are you in pain? Did you cry?” Taehyung asked, full of worry.

“I..I’m fine,” Jungkook replied. Taehyung sighed in relief and, the next moment, pulled Jungkook into a tight hug. “I… I was scared, Kook,” he said, his voice cracking.

Jin and Yoongi sighed as they watched the younger one worry so much. Jungkook, exhausted, just snuggled into Taehyung’s shoulder. “I’m sorry,” he mumbled weakly.

“Ani, don’t apologize. It just happened… I’m just glad you’re okay,” Taehyung said, gently caressing Jungkook’s hair. “Are you tired? Your fever’s still there,” Taehyung asked, still holding the hug.

Jungkook nodded against Taehyung’s shoulder. “Tired,” he whispered. Taehyung’s eyes welled up with tears, seeing his younger in pain.

“Tae, take him to his room. I’ll come in a few minutes,” Jin said..Taehyung nodded and guided Jungkook to his room, not letting go of his hand.

Jin sighed and turned to Yoongi. “Is Jimin with Namjoon?” he asked. “Hmm. Namjoon took him,” Yoongi replied.

“Go and be with him. He must be crying,” Jin said.

Yoongi nodded. “Take care here then. I’ll be back after seven, I have some work at the base too. Comfort Tae, Namjoonie said he cried all night and didn’t sleep.” Jin nodded, and Yoongi left the house.

Jin sighed, went to his room, took a quick warm shower, and came back. He prepared some soup for Jungkook and a meal for Taehyung and himself. He also made a medicinal tea for Jungkook. Carefully placing everything on a tray, he walked toward Jungkook’s room.

When he entered, he saw Taehyung sitting beside Jungkook, gently caressing his hair. Jungkook was lying on the bed, eyes closed, not asleep, just resting.

“Tae,” Jin called softly. Taehyung looked up at him, his eyes teary. “His fever is high, hyungie,” Tae whispered.

Jin sighed and walked over, placing the tray on the side table. “He’ll be fine. Don’t worry, bear,” Jin said, pulling Taehyung into a sideways hug.

Taehyung nodded quietly. Jin broke the hug and placed his hand on Jungkook’s forehead. At the touch, Jungkook whimpered, “A… appa,” he mumbled weakly.

Both Jin and Taehyung clenched their jaws in anger at the word. Jin sighed deeply and gently patted Jungkook’s chest to wake him up.

“Kook, baby, wake up,” Jin said softly. Jungkook slowly opened his eyes, exhausted. “Eat a little, then sleep, baby,” Jin said, brushing his hair tenderly.

Jungkook shook his head weakly. “Don’t w… want,” he mumbled.

“Come on, just a little, please,” Jin coaxed gently. Jungkook sighed and tried to sit up, but Taehyung was quick to help him, supporting him with care. Jungkook leaned against Taehyung’s shoulder.

Jin gave a small smile and took the bowl. He blew on the soup to cool it down and gently fed Jungkook, spoon by spoon.

Jungkook took the bites obediently, though his eyes were distant, clearly lost in his thoughts.

Jungkook shook his head, saying no, indicating he had enough. Jin nodded and kept the bowl away, then took the medicinal tea he brought. He gave it to Tae, gesturing for him to make Jungkook drink it.

Tae nodded and said, “Here, Kook, drink this,” bringing the tea to his lips. Jungkook looked at the tea and shook his head, clearly not wanting it.

“It’s necessary, baby. It’ll make you feel better, it’ll soothe the headache, and your throat will feel good,” Jin said.

Jungkook sighed and nodded. Tae smiled and made Jungkook drink it. Jungkook scrunched his face at the bittersweet taste, but he didn’t throw tantrums and just drank it.

Jin handed him the medicines, and Jungkook took them with the tea obediently. Once he finished, Tae helped him lie down properly and gently caressed Jungkook’s hair. Soon, exhaustion took over, and Jungkook fell asleep again.

“H… he is in pain…” Tae mumbled. Jin took Tae’s hand and dragged him to the balcony. Jin hugged the younger, and that was it… Tae broke down. He started crying hard. He didn’t say anything, just cried, and Jin… he gave him his shoulder. Tae cried lyk a child.

“Don’t worry, Tae… He will be fine. He’s going to be protected by us. He has us. He’s not alone anymore. Don’t cry, please…” Jin tried to reassure him, but Tae only cried harder.

“I… I… I know… I know he’s going to be fine… B-but he has gone through so much without us, right? We… we left him all alone with appa. I hate appa. I hate him. He doesn’t even deserve to be called appa. I hate him… I won’t leave him… I’ll show him what I’ll do this time. Last time, you stopped me when hyungie left us but this time no one is going to stop me. I’ll make him regret his actions… First he ruined your life and the other hyungs’ lives, and now Jungkook’s too… What did he do to deserve this? Being in the mafia at just 11? It’s too much, hyung… it’s too much… I can’t even bring myself to think about the pain Jungkook suffered…”

Tae kept saying these things while crying. Jin kept caressing his back, saying calming and soothing words to comfort him.

Once Tae calmed down, Jin made him sit on the baggy couch in the balcony. He wiped Tae’s tears and said, “You know, right… Kook has us. He has his TaeTae hyungie who will always be with him and make him smile. He also has his Jimin hyung. He has me, Yoongs, Hoba, and Joon to rely on and feel safe around. He has us. He’s not going to be alone anymore.”

“I’ll make sure that Kim gets what he deserves… I promise. But we need to stay calm. We can’t jump into a war immediately without plans or weapons. We’ll make him regret it, worse than ever. But for that, I don’t want him to find out about us. We’ll go in his path… and knock him out at our time. So, I don’t want him to know about you or Jimin, ever. Don’t show him who you are. Understood?” Jin asked.

Tae nodded, wiping his tears. Jin smiled and hugged the boy again. Tae just snuggled into Jin.

“You must be sad too…” Tae mumbled.
Jin sighed and said, “Nae… I am. I’m sad seeing my brothers cry. So will you stop crying, bear?” Jin said, breaking the hug. He smiled at Tae and ruffled his hair. “Will you atleast smile a little bear?” Jin asked trying to cheer him up. And it worked tae smiled a little. Jin smiled seeing the younger smile…
