Chapter 91
(Guys comment a lot please! Comment while reading too)
It was noon. All the brothers were already in the cars Jin, Suga, and Namjoon in one, while Hobi and the maknae line were in another.
“Guys, no yelling. Hoba, take care of them! And especially Jimin and Tae, if you both bicker and torture them, my slippers will speak, okay?” Jin warned, sitting in the car with his cooling glasses on.
“Nae, nae, hyung. We won’t fight, right buddy?” Jimin said. Tae nodded, and they both did their iconic handshake from the back seat. Jin rolled his eyes at them. Jungkook, sitting in the front, just chuckled. After the talk he had with Jin and Tae earlier, he felt so relieved, calm for once.
“Ahhh, finally I can get some peace,” Yoongi muttered, avoiding Jimin’s death glares. Everyone chuckled.
“Ahhh, finally we can be free of that grumpy grandpa,” Jimin shot back sarcastically. Yoongi rolled his eyes and leaned back in his seat at the front.
“Ahhh, stop your fights, guys. Hyung, let’s go. Hoba, let’s go,” Namjoon said from the back.
Hobi started the engine. “Let’s goo!!!” he cheered enthusiastically, already wearing his cooling glasses. Tae and Jimin shouted along loudly, and the drive finally began, with Jin’s car following right behind.
Their Outfits
In Hobi’s Car
The first few minutes were peaceful, but then… Jimin pulled out a bag of chips. He started munching, vibing with the music. Tae gasped, “Yahhh! When did you bring that, huh? Give me some!”
But Jimin clutched the chips like his life depended on it. “No, never! You have your own organs, na? Go get your own!” he smirked.
Hobi, sitting in the front, shook his head in disbelief, while Jungkook just watched the drama unfold.
“Yahhh! I’m your friend! You can’t do this. Give me some, na!” Tae whined. Jimin shook his head. “Yahh, you mor——–” Tae cut himself off, correcting quickly, while Jimin gave him a look like he dared him to say it.
Finally, Tae exploded. “Yahhh, you shorty! Better give it to me!” Jimin calmly popped another chip in his mouth, shaking his head. He was teasing Tae, and very clearly pissing him off.
“Okay, fine! I’ll give you some… but only if you say please,” Jimin said innocently. Tae scoffed. “Why the hell should I, huh?” Jimin shrugged and said “Then forget about the chips.” He stuffed another bite dramatically.
Jungkook, who was looking at the chaos chuckled at them. “They’re silly, hyung,” he said to Hobi.
“They are. They’re idiots, you know,” Hobi whispered to Jungkook, who immediately burst out laughing. Hobi just smiled at him.
“Okay… Jimin….please give me the snacks, okay now?” Tae yelled. It sounded less like a request and more like a royal decree. Jimin scoffed dramatically. “That’s not a request, pabo! You have to say it sooo soft, like butter.” He clasped his hands together, acting innocent.
Tae scoffed right back, took a deep breath, and through gritted teeth said, “Jimin-ah… give me some chips… please.”
Jimin chuckled like a villain, finally handing the packet over. Tae grabbed it with a huge success smile like he won a million cash……. until he opened it and saw only a handful of sad, tiny chip crumbs left at the bottom.
Tae froze. His smile fadedd. He glared at Jimin, who was already laughing hard. “You TRAITOR! You’re dead today, Jimin-ah!” Tae roared.
“Hyungieeee!” Tae whined at Hobi for backup.
“I’m not getting into your fight, my bros!” Hobi declared, both hands gripping the wheel like his life depended on it. Jungkook chuckled beside him, thoroughly entertained by their fight.
Tae crossed his arms with a dramatic sigh, sitting like an angry puppy pouting in the backseat. Jimin, unable to resist, kept chuckling at him.
Then, out of nowhere, Jimin pulled another fresh pack of chips from his bag and tossed it at Tae’s lap. Tae’s whole face lit up. He ripped it open and started munching happily. Jimin passed another pack to Jungkook, who accepted it with a grin.
“You hyungs seriously act like a married couple of 60 years,” Jungkook said, shaking his head while laughing.
Hobi nearly choked on air from laughing at that. Tae and Jimin turned to look at each other,. Tae having a disgusted face while, Jimin, without missing a beat, leaned forward dramatically.
“Honey! Baby! Jagiya! I love you sooo much!” he cooed lovingly, dramatically, reaching out like he was about to hug Tae. Tae looked at him with a disgusted face, rolling his eyes and turning away, but ended up chuckling anyway.
Jungkook was doubled over with laughter, while Hobi shook his head, thingking, “I should’ve just gone alone… why did I even agreed to go with these? ahhhh hyungg!!!! ”
But before he could finish his thought, both Tae and Jimin suddenly screamed in unison: “HOOBIIII HYUNGGGGGG!” Hobi shook his head, his once happy peaceful face tured into done face! poor guy!
And just like that, the car exploded with laughter, chaos, whines, and Jimin’s evil giggles mixed with Tae’s dramatic yelling. Jungkook? He was living his best life, comfy, entertained, and laughing till his stomach hurt. Hobi? He was already regretting every single life choice that led to him driving this chaotic duo.
Meanwhile, in the Other Car…
They were driving right behind Hobi’s car. “You guys think kook will be fine?” Jin asked suddenly, he was still worried.
Yoongi, eyes glued to his phone, answered without even blinking. “He will be.” Then he looked up at Jin with a cheeky smile. “Because he has us. He’s going to be allll good, you know?”
Jin chuckled at Yoongi’s confidence, and at the way he dragged out his words.
“Don’t worry, hyung. He’ll be fine. Let’s just give him some time, he is gonna be fine” Namjoon reassured. Jin nodded, while Yoongi finally tossed his phone aside and turned up the music.
The three of them sat back, enjoying a calm, breezy ride. No whining. No screaming. No chip wars. Just peace. “Ahhh, it’s too peaceful here,” Yoongi sighed happily. “Jiminie and Tae aren’t here… poor Hobi. He’s trapped. I bet he’s already regretting his life choices.”
Namjoon chuckled. “Hyungs, I’m sure Hobi is already planning how to escape at the next stop.” Jin laughed and said. “Yah, look! They’ve already started fighting!” he said, pointing out at the front. From their car, they could faintly see Tae and Jimin throwing some on each.
Namjoon and Yoongi both leaned forward to peek, and immediately burst out laughing.
Meanwhile, their own car stayed blissfully quiet, filled with music, soft chuckles, and the rarest treasure of all: peace. (just opposite of the other car)
Burt then… the Peace Was Broken. The song Golden came on, and of course, Namjoon couldn’t resist. He cleared his throat, ready for his “moment.”
“I am done hidinggggg~ now I’m shininggggg~” Namjoon sang, dramatically clutching his chest like he was on stage.
“AHHHHH, Namjoon, just shut your freaking mouth, dude!” Yoongi yelled instantly, looking personally offended.
But Namjoon just smirked and kept going. “Yahhh, if you don’t stop, my punches gonna stop you, Joon!” Jin threatened from the passenger seat.
“Like I’m borrrn to beeeee~” Namjoon tried to hit a high note. Tried. He TRIED. It came out like a dying dolphin, but he went for it anyway.
“YAHHHHH!” Jin screeched back, covering his ears with one hand while another was on the wheel. “Yah, you idiot! If you want to sing, take a rap, Namjoon! You don’t do well in vocals, how many freaking times should I tell you, huh? Ahhh my poor ears!” Jin rapped his complaint like a freestyle diss.
Yoongi’s glare at Namjoon could’ve killed a man. Namjoon gave a sheepish chuckle.
“You guys wanna book tickets for my vocal concert right?” he asked, raising his brows confidently. Yoongi didn’t even blink. “If you do that… the whole world will vanish. Don’t even try another high note. My ears are suing you.”
Jin groaned, massaging his temples. “Great. Now I’ve got a beep in my ears. I can’t hear properly anymore!” he said dramatically, as if Namjoon had caused permanent hearing loss.
Namjoon gave them both a deadpan look. “You guys are jealous. Just admit it hyungss.”
They both stared at him with the most done expressions in history. The drive continued, the trio back to laughing, bickering, and throwing shade. Still way calmer than Hobi’s car… but definitely no longer peaceful with namjoon’s vocals.
Time Skips
Both cars finally pulled over at a scenic viewpoint in front of the beach . They had reached Busan. It was 7 p.m., and the sky was painted in hues of orange and pink as the sun began to set.
“Ahhhh, hyung… finally,” Hobi whined, stretching out dramatically.
Jin chuckled at his complaint. “Woah, Hoba, seems like you really enjoyed the drive, huh?” Namjoon teased, chuckling. Hobi shot him a glare, which only made Jin laugh harder.
The maknae line stepped out next. Tae and Jimin immediately began stretching, while Jungkook stood still, his wide doe eyes taking in the breathtaking view around them.
Suddenly, he felt an arm drape gently around his shoulders. It was Yoongi. “It’s good, right?” Yoongi’s voice was soft, almost like a whisper carried by the breeze. “Nae… so good. It’s peaceful,” Jungkook replied, smiling faintly. Yoongi smiled too, ruffling his hair.
“Ahhh, finally peaceful,” Namjoon sighed, letting the evening air hit his face. They all turned toward the horizon, watching the sun sink lower.
Jin’s eyes shifted to Jungkook. The youngest was smiling quietly at their words, a small, tender curve of his lips that carried a weight of unspoken emotions. Seeing it made Jin’s own lips curve into a smile.
The seven of them stood together, the cool breeze brushing against their skin, the fading sunlight wrapping them in warmth. Jungkook was at the center, surrounded by his brothers.
And once agai, he felt truly at peace. He smiled at the glowing sunset, his eyes glistening with emotion. He felt loved. He felt cared for. For a moment… he felt like a normal person again.
Not the lonely boy trapped in a vast, empty mansion….. but a brother for his hyungs…. he missed that! and now he loved that wrapped around the guys once he hated for no reason, pushing them back when they approached. He felt like he could live like the forever…. no pain… no nightmares’.. no beatings… no cries… no sleepless nights… no stress… no panic attacks.. not those freaking pills…. and…. no blamings.
Thinking of it, his eyes glistened wih tears but didn’t let it fell. He smiled once again. By his hyungs again.

.
.
They drove to their grandparents’ house. This time, Hobi and Namjoon rode with Tae and Jimin, while the eldests took Jungkook with them. Yoongi was driving.
“Hyung…” Jungkook’s voice was soft as he leaned forward from the backseat. Jin, sitting in the passenger seat, turned to him. “Yeah, Kook?”
“Umm… did you inform Kim about this?” Jungkook asked hesitantly, his fingers fidgeting slightly. Jin nodded. “Nae, I did. He said okay.”
Jungkook gave a small nod. His lips pressed together as if he was holding back more questions. Jin smiled, and spoke his voice calm and reassuring. “Kook-ah… don’t be too formal with Halmoni and Harabeoji, okay? Just be yourself, be free. We’ll be right beside you.”
Jungkook nodded again. From the driver’s seat, Yoongi glanced at them through the mirror, a small smile tugging at his lips.
Soon, they arrived at the house. It was huge and elegant, just like their own mansion in Seoul, but this one felt different. The air was filled with quiet. The house was wrapped by tall trees, the kind that whispered in the wind. It felt less like luxury, more like home.
Jungkook hesitated as they stepped out of the car, but Jin reached for his hand, holding it gently. Their eyes met, and Jin gave him an assuring nod. Jungkook’s chest loosened a little at that silent assuring.
As they walked toward the entrance, they spotted an elderly couple already waiting outside. “They came,” the old man said in a warm, steady voice.
The grandmother’s eyes widened as she spotted them, her steps quickening as soon as her gaze fell on the trio. But when her eyes landed on Jungkook, her face lit up with a smile so wide.
“Halmoni, slow down,” Jin called out softly with a chuckle. But she didn’t listen. She kept walking faster, her eyes locked on her youngest grandson.
Beside her, their grandfather stood tall, his posture firm but his eyes filled with tenderness. He smiled quietly, watching as his wife hurried forward towards his youngest grandson.
Jungkook looked at them with his wide doe eyes and bowed politely to the elders. “Aww, my baby,” the grandmother whispered, her voice trembling with affection. She pulled Jungkook into a hug.
He froze for a moment, startled by the sudden warmth but he didn’t resist. Slowly, he let her hold him, feeling Jin’s hand slip away from his own.
“Kook… you’re finally here. I missed you so much, baby! You’ve grown up so much,” she said, her words spilling out with love. She pulled back just enough to press a soft kiss to his forehead.
The rest of the brothers had stepped out by now, standing quietly nearby, smiles tugging at their lips as they watched the scene unfold.
“You’re so grown up, my bun,” the grandmother continued, her hands still clinging to him as if afraid to let go. “You took so long to meet me, baby.” She hugged him again, tighter this time.
Jungkook blinked, caught off guard once more by her affection. The warmth in her embrace seeped into him, unfamiliar yet… comforting.
Jin chuckled softly at his younger brother’s dazed reaction. Their grandfather stepped closer, placing a steady arm around Jin in a side hug. His voice was calm but filled with care as he asked, “Is he doing well?”
“Nae, he’s doing well,” Jin replied with a gentle smile.
The grandfather’s lips curved into a smile as he patted Jin’s shoulder in approval.
Meanwhile, the grandmother reluctantly broke the hug. She cupped Jungkook’s face with her hands, her eyes shimmering with tears.
“Your eyes… they’re just like your mom’s,” she whispered, her voice breaking. She leaned forward again and pressed another soft kiss to his forehead.
Jungkook’s brows furrowed slightly, confusion flickering in his gaze. He didn’t understand the tears, the words, the overwhelming love, but he felt it. He truly felt it.
“Ahhh, Chung-ah, let’s go inside first,” the grandfather said gently to his wife.
The grandmother nodded, quickly wiping her tears away. Jungkook, still standing quietly, looked at her with his wide bambi eyes.
Choi Chung-ah
“Ahhh, Halmoni, you forgot about us!” Tae said, glaring playfully at his grandmother.
“How could I ever forget you all, hmm?” Chungha said with a fond smile. She opened her arms, and in the very next moment, Jimin and Tae were crashing into her embrace.
“We missed you, Grandma!” they both said together. “I missed my babies too,” Chungha replied warmly, her hands ruffling both of their hair at once.
Meanwhile, the hyung line stood with their grandfather, watching the reunion with small smiles.
“Looks like nobody missed their grandpa,” the grandfather said dramatically, crossing his arms.
But within seconds, Jimin and Tae rushed to hug him as well. “We missed you too, Yichan!” Tae said playfully, deliberately calling his grandpa by his name.
“Yahhh, you brat!” Yichan scolded with a chuckle, but his laughter blended with theirs.
Lee Yichan
Jin then stepped forward and hugged Chungha softly. “Are you doing well, Halmoni? You seem like you’ve lost some weight,” he asked gently, concern lacing his tone.
“I’m doing so well, Seokjin-ah. Don’t worry about me,” Chungha said, smiling as she ruffled his hair just like she used to when he was younger.
Jin smiled back warmly. Then his gaze shifted to Jungkook, who stood a little apart, eyes wide, watching everyone with that same bambi-eyed wonder.
Jin walked over to Jungkook and gently patted his back. “You fine?” he asked softly. Jungkook gave a small nod, mumbling, “Yes…” almost under his breath.
Meanwhile, Yoongi, Hobi, and Namjoon stepped forward to greet their grandparents warmly.
Yichan then walked toward Jungkook and wrapped an arm around his shoulder. “You doing well, buddy?” he asked with a warm smile.
“Nae… I’m doing well,” Jungkook replied quietly. Yichan gave him a soft smile in return and patted his shoulder, the simple gesture carrying more comfort than words.
They all went inside the house, it was warmer, quieter and yet still luxurious and peaceful. Jungkook’s doe eyes wandered around in awe, taking in every detail.
“You like it?” Yichan asked. Jungkook nodded silently, his lips curving in the faintest smile. Yichan smiled at his smile, and ruffled his hair.
They settled onto the couches. “Woahhh, finally!” Hobi groaned dramatically, flopping down like he hadn’t sat in years. Everyone burst into laughter at his antics.
“Wae, why are you so tired, Hoba?” Chungha asked, amused. “Nae, Halmoni, those two brats left me restless the whole ride!” Hobi whined, pointing accusingly at Jimin and Tae, who were now lounging comfortably on the couch like little angels.
“What? What did we do?” the two chorused, blinking innocently as if they had nothing.
Hobi rolled his eyes with a sigh, which only made everyone laugh harder. Well, everyone except the maknae line.
Jungkook was still quietly gazing around the house, his bambi eyes drinking in every corner. “Kook, come on, let me give you a tour,” Jimin said suddenly, springing up from his seat.
“I’ll join too!” Tae added immediately, grinning. Jungkook blinked at them with his soft doe-eyed expression, hesitant but agreeing. “Go with them, Kook,” Yichan encouraged gently. Jungkook gave a small nod and stood up, following the two out of the living room.
Now, only the elders remained. “he is really doing well, Jin?” Chungha asked softly, her eyes full of worry. Jin nodded, taking her hand gently. “He’s fine, Halmoni. Don’t worry,” he assured her, his voice steady.
“What about his health?” Yichan asked, his tone heavier this time. “Fine… just his heart still isn’t doing great, but it’s stable. The doctors said he’ll be okay as long as he takes his medications properly,” Jin explained carefully.
Both elders nodded, though their expressions carried unspoken concern. “What about your dad?” Yichan asked suddenly, his voice colder now, edged with restrained anger.
“He’s in abroad, Haraboji. Don’t worry, he isn’t troubling us anymore,” Yoongi answered firmly before Jin could. Yichan’s jaw tightened, his eyes burning with fury. “He literally revealed Jungkook to the world. And your uncle (Minjoon – Yoona’s brother) … he’s still trying everything he can to harm kook.”
“Don’t worry, Haraboji. We’re here with him. He’ll be fine,” Jin reassured once more, his tone calm but unwavering. Yichan sighed heavily, his wife reaching over to squeeze his hand in comfort.
“What about his memories? Is he regaining any of them?” Chungha asked hesitantly. Jin shook his head slowly. “No… nothing yet.”
Both grandparents fell quiet, sharing a look that carried both sadness and hope. “He’s so silent…” Chungha whispered, her gaze drifting toward the stairs where Jungkook was walking up with Tae and Jimin. “Nae… he’s like that,” Jin replied softly.
Meanwhile, upstairs, the trio was exploring the house. Jungkook’s steps slowed when his eyes caught a large photo frame hanging along the stairway wall.
It was a family portrait, Yoona, Yichan, Chungha, and Minjoon (Yoona’s elder brother). Jungkook’s gaze locked onto Yoona’s face. Something about it… it tugged at him. It felt familiar. Too familiar. His surroundings began to blur, the voices of Tae and Jimin muffling into the background as he stared harder at her features.
Why did it feel like he knew her? Why did his chest ache just looking at her smile?
“…Kook?” A hand patted his shoulder gently, snapping him out of his daze. Jungkook blinked and turned to Tae, who was watching him with concern.
“You fine, Kook?” Tae asked quietly. Jungkook hesitated but gave a small nod. “W-who is that?” Jungkook asked, pointing at Minjoon, “eomma’s elder brother, our samchoon” Tae said, trying to keep his voice steady, though he hated Minjoon he didn’t show it.
Jungkook nodded and asked “Is he living here?”, Tae shook his head as no and said “He is in seoul”, Jungkook nodded.
Tae offered him a small smile before pulling him along. “Come on, let’s go. There’s more to see.” Jungkook followed silently, but his eyes flickered back once more toward the photo, that strange heaviness lingering in his chest.
