I turned my Focus to my screen.
I kicked her out of his study.
But she keep finding excuses to come back
Kabhi coffee, to kabhi
“Iboughtyourluckypen” I mimic her in my mind
Luck pen that bitch.
He is not going to sign a deal with president.
Hadh ho gai ..
Aur to aurre isse kese pta konsa lucky hai konsa unlucky
Mujhe to yehi unlucky lagti hai….
Aur yeh chichhora kahika,
He just smirking, and acting cute with her.
And let me tell you
Itni besharm ladki mene aj tak nahi dekhi. Samjhti kya hai voh apne aap ko?
Navâs lips twitched, that smile. Ughh!
His voice was professional when he spoke to the board, but his eyesâoh, his eyes were flickering towards me, catching the way I stilled every time Rhena came and eye rape him.
He knew. Chichhora fir bhi koch nahi bolega. Offcourse he is enjoying
âFocus, Ms. CEO,â he murmured under his breath, too low for anyone else but me to hear.
âI am focusing,â I hissed back, glaring at my laptop screen. My cheeks were burning,
Ise kese pta chl jata hai … Chlta firta cctv.
âHmm,â his chuckle was silent, lips barely moving. âThen why did you write the same number twice?â
I looked down. Damn itâhe was right.
Itni tez akheine.
I corrected it quickly, pretending it was nothing,
Pretending rhena’s âNav, do you want coffee?â wasnât stabbing my ears.
Nav leaned back in his chair, utterly relaxed in the break, while I was practically annoyed. He wasnât even answering her
just letting her roam freely in the background, while I sat here clenching my jaw, dying every second.
And the worst part?
his eyes told me he was enjoying this. Enjoying me being jealous.
I AM NOT JEALOUS!!! NOT TO HIM.
Thats it!
âNavveer,â I muttered, low enough to sound like a threat, âtell her to leave.â
He tilted his head, smirk tugging his lips. âLeave? Why? Sheâs just being friendly.â
Friendly? My blood boiled.
âThis is a professional meeting,â I snapped, still keeping my voice low. âNot her so called park.â
âAh,â he said with fake concern, eyes filled with mischief, âso it bothers you?â
My mouth opened, then closed. No way was I giving him that satisfaction. âIt bothers the discipline of the meeting and I am very disciplinedâ I said confidently, raising my chin.
He leaned closer, his voice brushing against my ear, low and teasing. âKeep telling yourself that, Vani.â
I froze. A shiver ran through me. But i didn’t let it be obvious. My pulse betrayed me, racing in ways I refused to acknowledge.
But he knew. Oh, he knew.
The conference went on again, but my notes were a mess, my temper was rising with every extra laugh Rhena sent his way.
Nav didnât once scold her, didnât once ask her to leave. No. Instead, he deliberately let her linger, feeding my irritation like it was his favorite game.
And every time our eyes met,I caught itâthat satisfied look.
And it was driving me insane.
â§
The conference call finally ended. I exhaled a breath I didnât realize I have been holding, shutting my laptop with a practiced snap. My tie felt suffocating,
So i removed my tie with my hand and shake my head a little so that my hair falls nicely.
It was also because I was feeling a headache.
One of the main reason of my headache was that chichhora
When i looked at him, he was looking at me, he was still. His hand stilled mid-air.
Dekh to ese raha hai, jese pta hi nahi kya dekh liya ho.
Weirdo.
I stood up, gathering my files.
âBas, Iâm done. Mujhe ab chalna hai,â
The stiffness in my tone was exactly what I was running away from.
Ab mai inhen aur ni jhel sakti.
Its enough for the day.
But Nav get in his senses and came and stood infront of me.
I stopped so we don’t collied. And took a step back
âAccha? Meeting khatam ho gayi toh tumhari zimmedari bhi khatam?â he said
I frowned. âNav, donât start. Iâve already wasted enough time hereââ
âWasted?â He raised a brow. âSo the work we just did, jo company ke incentives aur roles ke liye tha, voh âwasteâ hai? Wahi jo tumhare signature ke bina aage nahi jaa sakta?â
My lips parted, no words coming out. He— he—
â And Leave? That quickly? Interesting⌠I thought CEOs usually stick around for after-work discussions. Incentives, roles, new plansâring a bell?â
aur⌠ek aur meeting kal ke liye set karni hai.â
â Ohhhhh but you are still a kid right. Tumhe yeh kese pta hoga… Mai bhi naaâ he tsk
I swallowed, clutching the file to her chest.
â I am not a kid nav!!â i snapped. He looked at me and smiled
â nav?â he repeated. He is soo annoying
âYouâyou couldâve told me this before.â i snapped again didn’t dare to look at him i lowered my gaze fully frustrated
He chuckled, low and deep. â To ab konsa derr krdi? Aab bta raha hu na. â
My head snapped toward him. âThose can wait,â I said coldly âI have my own schedules to handle, Mr. Brar.â
Nav chuckled softly, but why i think he don’t wanna let me goâOh, but these are crucial, Ms. Vani Brar. You know how messy things can get if responsibilities arenât done properly. UnlessâŚâ his voice lowered, deliberately playful, âyouâre scared of staying here a little longer?â
My jaw clenched. âScared? Of you? Donât flatter yourself.â
But i don’t think my sharp tone did anything to cover the way I avoided his.
A/n:-That was the part Nav enjoyed mostâuska ziddi gururr ( pride) She would never admit how easily he got under her skin.
He rose slowly, walking toward the studyâs desk, deliberately letting the silence stretch. The sound of his footsteps made me shift uneasily, though I refused to look up.
âBesides,â he continued casually, âRhena was asking if Iâd be free for dinner later. I told her I might be occupied.â
That made me glance up
Wtf?
I almost panicked. The fire in my eyes gave him exactly what he wanted.
I couldn’t help it. I glare at him and his smirk deepend
âOccupied with work,â he added innocently, as if he hadnât just struck my nerves. âAnd since youâre here, it only makes sense you help me finish it.
I get back to my desk wth frustration like a child didn’t get a candy and was angry
I snapped my laptop on the table glaring at him. âYouâre impossible.â
Nav bent slightly, from the other table to match my eyesâAnd you love it.â
I stiffened, refusing to answer,Â
My jaw tightened. âYouâre insufferable.â
âMain?â He tilted his head with a chuckle, his voice dropping
âMujhe toh lagta hai tumhe problem meri âpresenceâ se nahi⌠kisi aur ki presence se thi. Rhena, for example?â
I glared at him âKhayali pulav maat bnao apne.â I said with a angry scoff
He chuckled lightly. walked to the door shutting the study door with a soft click. His tone carried that teasing heat I hate âAb tum yahin betho… jab tak kaam khatam nahi hota. Smjhe vani ji?â
And i rolled my eyes. I am at his house And the night was only getting started.
Mahadev
Bacha lena… Firse nahi .. please…
â§
I leaned back in my chair, eyes fixed on my screen, but my real focus was on the woman sitting like an angry chipmunk at the corner of my study.
Vani had chosen the seat farthest from me, her posture all business, her face says I don’t care. I am not jealous
Butttttttttt….
The moment Rhenaâs voice came in during the conference call, I didnât miss the way Vaniâs grip on her pen tightened. That little flicker of her eyes, sharp, irritated, and immediately flicking between me and her and her screen, was more satisfying than any project deal.
Rhena, as usual, was all sweetness and flirt, tossing compliments at me as though they were confetti. âMr. Brar, only you could have pulled this off so flawlessly, even when being sick you know.â she said excitedly
I instantly look at her, but she was focused on her screen, oh did i forgot to mention that she act like she is focused on the screen but her forehead furrow says otherwise
I let the corner of my mouth tilt, half-smirk, âAppreciate it, Rhena. But you know, credit isnât mine alone. Vani was the one keeping the chaos under control.â
At the mention of her name, Vaniâs head snapped up. I could practically hear her unspoken words: Donât you dare drag me into this circus. But, she only muttered a low, âLetâs stay on track, weâre short on time.â
My smirk deepened And Vaniâs attempt to bury her annoyance under professionalism, it was failing beautifully.
I didnât expose her, though. Not directly. That would be too easy.
Aur mujhe asan cheeze pasand nahi madam jealous.
So, I make my mission to make madam jealous more jealous until she explode,
I started explaining rhena office things as she sit next to me
Vani’s eyes glare at her, but i act not to notice and done a pretty good job at hiding my smiles.
She murmured something under her breath i wasn’t able to caught it.
â§
Vani stood up, gathering her files like she couldnât wait to escape fast enough, I stretched lazily in my chair. âLeaving already?â
âWeâve got more work, Miss rathore You remember?â
Her eyes narrowed. âThat can wait until tomorrow. Itâs late.â
âLate?â He glanced at the clock, feigning surprise. âItâs barely nine. Youâre not running away because of Rhena, are you?â
Her spine stiffened. âExcuse me?â
Bingo. I had hit the nerve. âJust asking. You looked a little⌠distracted.â
Her glare could have cut glass. She muttered something under her breath about professionalism, My eyes locked on her.
Deny it all you want, Vani. I can see every spark youâre trying so hard to hide.
Koch to badal geya hai, tum ab mano ya na mano,
Oh sorry manva to mai dunga.
Ese hi Navver singh brar naam nahi hai mera.
â madam ceo, atleast reply. is it because you are jealous,â I waited for her response but she didn’t even glance at me so i continued â accept it vani and I’ll stop this, I’ll even remove her.â
She turned to me with a smile
I furrow my brows, change? This soon?
She step forward with ease,
Slowly
â nav….â she said slowly, her voice low and like a melody
â hmm??â I hmm getting lost in her eyes
She gets close to me, pulled my tie a little, i bent slightly,
Her mouth close to my ear,
â YOU OFFICIALLY LOST IT!!!!â she shouted in my ear and slapped a file at my chest
â ahhh vanniiii rathore….. Are you mad????â i rub my ear….
â dubara esi bakwas ki na to bolne layak nahi chordungi…. Maybe you really need the old vani.â She said with a scoff and went away
And i stood in my study like a lost kid in a fair.
