Chapter 103
With Tae
They were at their workplace; Jaein was also with them. They were working on their model, focused. But not Tae. He was reminded about Jungkook’s surgery. He felt wrong. He felt like he wasn’t happy about it. Surely no one is happy. But… he felt different. He felt negative about the surgery.
What if the surgery goes wrong?
What if something happens during or after surgery?
What if Jungkook again leaves them like he did for 12 years?
What if their father separates them again?
Those were the only thoughts inside his mind.
Yahhh shiball sekkiya!” Jimin yelled when Taehyung dropped a wooden piece on the model. Tae came out of his thoughts, sighed, and saw Jimin, who spoke, “Where are you, huh? You are not focused, Tae! What the hell is going on with you, huh?” Jimin asked; he was clearly angry and upset with Tae’s behavior.
Tae seemed quite upset and distracted the whole day, which really didn’t suit him. Tae sighed and removed his gloves and held his head in frustration. Jimin and Jaein glanced at each other, worried. Tae sighed and walked out, mumbling, “I’ll be back after 10 min.”
“Yahhh!! What’s wrong with you?” Jimin yelled, tae heard it but he just walked away. Jaein, who watched everything, sighed and said, “Is it about Jungkook?” Jaein asked.
Jimin sighed and nodded “I guess so, the doctor said Kook is going to have open-heart surgery. He is worried,” Jimin said, removing his gloves.
“It must be hard for him!” Jaein said, worried as well. Jimin nodded sighing. They stood there in silence for minutes.
“Well… should we light up his mood?” Jaein asked, playfully smirking. Jimin chuckled and said, “When do we ask these questions, huh? Let’s do it! But what can we do?” Jimin asked. “Hmm… Should we drink? A little?” Jaein asked, winkking at last. Jimin blinked. “Good idea. Wait, let me just inform Hyungs!” Jimin said. Jaein smiled and removed her apron, taking her phone to order the drinks.
“Okay, got Hyungs’ permission too! But only a little!” Jimin said. Jaein smiled. Jimin and she waited for minutes to get the order. Soon it came. “Okayyy! Time for sojuuu!” Jimin said, cheering.
Jaein carried the snacks with her. “Where did this moran go?” Jimin asked, looking for Tae. “Rooftop! For sure!” Jaein said. Jimin nodded, and they walked to the rooftop.
There they saw Tae leaning against the railing, looking up at the moon. They could tell he was crying silently. Jimin went to him. He kept the soju bottle on the floor. Tae, seeing them, quickly wiped his tears, looking away.
Jimin and Jaein sat on either side of him, with Tae in the center. Jimin silently embraced him, offering him comfort. “Yahh, shiball saekkiya! Why the fuck are you crying huh? If you came here to cry then you could have called your friends to wipe your tears right?” Jimin asked playfully.
Tae didn’t say anything, just snuggled into his best friend. A tear silently fell from his eyes. Jaein quietly patted his shoulder, comforting him. Jimin just gave him the silent comfort.
Tae just closed his eyes, leaning back. “Appa and Eomma were very scared for this!” Tae mumbled softly, looking at the moon. “Just like us now! No one wanted Jungkook to be in the hospital! And didn’t want him to have surgery!” Tae said.
Jimin looked away, feeling overwhelmed as well. “I always wanted to be a Hyung, and then he was born. He came into our lives like a miracle! But not everything comes with only happiness, right?” Tae said. Jaein kept looking at him, listening. This wasn’t the Tae who always fought with her over everything, over silly things. He was not that childish guy; his tone was like a man who carried hurt and pain.
Tae continued, “We were not able to meet him on the day he was born, but only after 3 months of fighting. Then he got into an accident and after12 years of waiting. Now he is back, but I feel like I will lose him again. That… I won’t be able to see his smile again. I am scared that he will disappear again! I am really scared,” Tae said, tears flowing. He covered his face with his palm. Jimin broke down as well. He knew what Tae had been through, what they’d been through.
Jaein felt her tears flowing as well. He wrapped her hand around Tae’s, giving him the comfort he needed. Tae snuggled into her, crying, and Jimin also hugged him. Tae just cried until he was tired. After few minutes they broke the hug. Tae wioed hus tears away.
“Ahhh, jinjja… Tae, you are literally making our brave queen cry! You deserve a prize!” Jimin said playfully, trying to lift the mood.
Tae broke the hug and looked at Jaein. “Ohh really? Jaein is crying?” he asked, surprised. Jaein sniffled and looked away.
“Ahhhh, Jimin-ah, this is a miracle! Where’s my phone?” Tae asked, his bubbly nature returning, all thanks to his soulmates.
“Ahhhh, you moran! I am gonna kill you!” Jaein whined as Tae took pictures of her crying. Tae just laughed.
“Fine… now let’s end this sad and serious mood. It doesn’t suit us. Let’s drink,” Jimin said, smirking.
“Ohh really? You got hyung’s permission?” Tae asked.
Jimin nodded. “Just 20, please. Nothing more,” he said, winking in victory.
“Woahhh, you are cool!” Tae said, smiling. Meanwhile, Jaein watched Tae with a smile. The way his soft, silky hair fell perfectly over his forehead, slightly messy from all the chaos, made him look effortlessly beautiful.
Her eyes lingered on him longer than she intended. The faint redness around his eyes from crying only made him look more delicate, more… human. Not the loud, playful Tae everyone saw, but someone softer, someone she felt oddly protective of.
The way his lips curved into that boxy smile, the way his nose scrunched ever so slightly when he laughed, it all made her heart feel warmer than she’d like to admit.
Jaein quickly looked away, biting the inside of her cheek. Why am I even noticing all this? she thought, trying to brush it off.
But then Tae laughed again, bright and carefree, and without realizing it, her eyes found him once more.
Tae suddenly looked at her, making her drop her smile and look away.
“Wae? Is there something on my face?” Tae asked.
Jaein rolled her eyes. “Naeh, you look soooo ugly, crying like a baby,” she teased, nit admitting anything.
“Woahhh, look who’s talking, Grandma!” Tae said, teasing as well.
Jaein threw her hand at him, while Tae struck his Kung Fu Panda pose.
“Come on, 1 on 1?” Tae said.
“Seems like no one wants soju!” Jimin said. Tae and Jaein immediately grabbed their glasses. The three clinked their glasses and started drinking.
“Ewww, it’s so bitter!” Tae mumbled.
Jimin and Jaein chuckled.
In the Bangtan office…
They were in the meeting room. It was dim, the only light coming from the soft glow of the projector on the wall. Jin sat at the head of the long table in his CEO chair, his posture straight and composed. Yoongi sat on his left, calm but observant, while Haein was on his right, quietly taking notes. Junho stood near the screen, clicking through the slides as he presented.
Jin listened attentively throughout the meeting, his expression serious.
“So, our plan is to raise our production by expanding into two new markets next quarter,” Junho said, pointing at the chart on the screen. “If we increase the manufacturing line and partner with the new distributors, the numbers should grow by at least twenty percent.”
The room fell quiet for a moment.
Yoongi leaned back slightly in his chair. “And the risks?” he asked calmly.
Junho nodded. “Higher cost at the beginning, but the profit margin will stabilize within six months.”
Jin tapped his pen lightly on the table, thinking. After a moment, he looked up at the others.
“Prepare a detailed budget and risk report,” he said firmly. “If the projections hold, we’ll move forward next month.”
Everyone nodded.
“Meeting adjourned,” Jin said simply, closing the file in front of him, he stood up and walked out quietly. Expressing only dominance.
Everyone left one by one. Haein walked beside Yoongi.
“Is he upset or what?” Haein asked.
Yoongi glanced at Jin, who was standing a little distance away, giving instructions to the staff.
“Hm… it’s about Jungkook’s health,” Yoongi said quietly. “Wae? What happened to him?” Haein asked immediately, concern evident in her voice.
Yoongi looked at her. “You didn’t know?” Haein slowly shook her head.
Yoongi sighed before speaking again. “The doctor said he needs valve surgery. He’s going to have open-heart surgery.”
The moment Yoongi said that, Haein felt her heart start pounding wildly.
“No… no way. But the doctor said he was fine, right?” she asked, her voice rising. She couldn’t accept it.
“Nae… he did say that. But then… it just happened,” Yoongi replied with another sigh. Haein’s eyes began to glisten.
“Does Kook know this?” she asked, her voice low. Yoongi shook his head. “No. Hyung said he’ll tell him tomorrow… maybe. He was scared to tell him.”
Haein looked at Jin again. His eyes were tired. The usual joy that always lived in them was gone. He looked exhausted… and stressed.
“By the way, noona,” Yoongi started. Haein turned to him. “Do you know that Jungkook is taking benzos?” Yoongi asked suddenly.
Haein looked at him in confusion. She had no idea Jungkook was taking benzos. Not even in her wildest imagination had she thought of something like that.
“What do you mean he’s taking benzos?” she asked, shock and concern filling her voice.
“Ani… Jin hyung found Jungkook using them. He had overdosed,” Yoongi said quietly.
Haein stared at him in disbelief. Her hands began to tremble.
She knew about benzos. They were given to traumatized people. They were dangerous if misused. At that moment, it felt like her whole world had gone muffled.
Just like Jin had felt… she felt it too.
She had never imagined her brother would take something like that
Before Yoongi or Haein could say anything, Jin came over. “What are you both doing here—-” he started, but stopped when he noticed the tears in Haein’s eyes.
She looked at him for a moment, and the next second, she just walked away.
Jin stared at her in confusion. “What happened?” he asked Yoongi. “About Jungkook,” Yoongi said. Jin sighed.
“I’ll go look for her. Continue with the meetings, hmm?” Jin said. Yoongi nodded.
Jin left immediately and started looking for her around the office. When he reached the lobby, he asked one of the staff members.
“Did you see Haein-ssi?” Jin asked. “Ahhh, she just left now in her car,” the staff member replied.
Jin thanked him and quickly walked to his own car. Jin drove through the busy streets, his eyes scanning every corner of the city.
“Ahhh… where did she go this fast?” he muttered under his breath, gripping the steering wheel tighter.
A thought suddenly struck him.
He quickly turned the car and drove toward the riverside park. The evening sky had already started dimming, and the soft streetlights were turning on one by one.
When Jin parked and stepped out, his eyes immediately searched the area. And there she was.
Haein was standing near the railing, staring at the dark water, her arms wrapped around herself. Her shoulders trembled slightly. Jin’s chest tightened. He silently went near her, he removed his suit and wrapped it around her with no words.
The moment she noticed him, she quickly wiped her tears and looked away “You didn’t have to come,” she said quietly, her voice still shaking.
Jin stepped front, leaning holding the railing, watching the river and spoke “You ran out of the office crying,” he said softly. “How could I not come?”
Haein let out a shaky breath. “Is it true?” she asked, her voice breaking. “About Jungkook… the surgery… the benzos… all of it?”
Jin looked down for a moment. Then he nodded. “Yes.” The word was quiet, but it felt heavy. Haein felt tears roll down her cheeks again.
“He’s just a kid…” she whispered. “How much more does he have to go through…?”
Jin felt his own throat tighten. He looked away, blinking rapidly as if trying to keep his emotions under control.
“I was supposed to protect him,” he murmured. “I’m his brother. I should’ve noticed sooner.”
Haein looked at him, she tried, “Jin—-” “But I didn’t,” he continued, his voice cracking slightly. “I was busy with work… meetings… everything. And meanwhile he was suffering alone.”
His eyes were red now.
“It wasn’t your fault,” Haein said softly.
“It was. I shouldn’t have left him with Dad. I should have fought with him. It’s my fault that Kook is like this now!” Jin said, his voice filled with guilt.
“It was Kim’s fault… not yours,” Haein said quietly. Jin clenched his fists in anger. “I’ll make sure he rots in hell,” he said.
Haein sighed. “He’s playing with fire, Jin. He can do anything. He’s targeting you guys now. He’s already setting up a team to find out who BTS really is.”
Jin chuckled bitterly.
“You think we’ll step back? He can’t even move a single piece against us,” Jin said.
Haein literally gulped.
“I want your help in this,” Jin added, looking back at the river.
“What help?” Haein asked. Jin smirked… and then told her .”To make our brand new movie, Kim’s Downfall! Yesterday the teaser for released, and he loosed it already. We are excited for showing him the whole movie.
“And I need you do few cameos in the movie…” Jin started to tell her the script
Meanwhile, with Jungkook
Hyunwoo was downstairs preparing dinner for Jungkook, while Jungkook was in his room.
Jungkook stared at his hands. He sat there like a statue. Words kept ringing in his ears.
You shouldn’t feel loved. Everyone will hate you. Your brothers will throw you out. You are pitiful. You are pitiful. You are pitiful.
He felt suffocated. He couldn’t breathe. His head throbbed, and his chest tightened. He felt dizzy.
But the words didn’t stop.
No matter how much Hyunwoo tried to comfort him earlier, Jungkook had only gotten worse.
You are pitiful.
You are pitiful.
You are pitiful.
You are pitiful.
You are pitiful.
Jungkook flinched hard when he suddenly felt someone holding his shoulders. The voices stopped. He breathed heavily.
“Jungkook, are you okay?” Hyunwoo asked.
Jungkook looked at him, but in that moment, he felt like his own samchoon was mocking him.
You are pitiful.
It almost sounded like Hyunwoo was the one saying it.
“Jungkook!” Hyunwoo shook him harder. Jungkook flinched again and finally looked at him.
“What happened? I’ve been calling you for minutes. Are you feeling dizzy?” Hyunwoo asked worriedly.
“Go out,” Jungkook suddenly said.
“Huh?” Hyunwoo asked, clearly confused. “Get out. Leave me alone,” Jungkook said, his voice shaky as he looked into Hyunwoo’s eyes. Hyunwoo saw it.
There was no emotion in Jungkook’s eyes. No anger. No pain. But hurt. He was scared.
“Jungk—–” Hyunwoo tried to say. “Leave. Me. Alone,” Jungkook said again, firmer this time. “I can’t,” Hyunwoo replied.
“Just fucking leave me alone, please. I want to be alone!” Jungkook suddenly yelled. “Jungkook, I said I cant—–” Hyunwoo started, but he was cut off.
“I won’t do anything, I promise,” Jungkook said calmly. “Just leave me alone… please.”
Hyunwoo looked at him, trying to control himself. “I want to be alone,” Jungkook repeated. “F-fine… but you really won’t do anything, understand?” Hyunwoo asked. Jungkook nodded faintly.
“Then let me feed yo—–” Hyunwoo started. “I’ll eat on my own,” Jungkook said. He felt pitiful now.
“How will you eat on your own? Your right hand is inju—-” Hyunwoo tried to say, but Jungkook cut him off. “I have another hand. I’ll eat later,” Jungkook said sharply.
Hyunwoo sighed.
“Fine. Here, take your meds and sleep,” Hyunwoo said, pointing at the food tray he had brought. Jungkook nodded.
Hyunwoo stood up and wore his coat. Took his steps to leave, but stopped and turned and said, “You know, right? Samchoon really loves you a lot. I’m always here with you. And your brothers too. You can’t leave us, remember that, hmm?”.
Jungkook just nodded, looking away.
“If anything happens, call me. If your hand hurts a lot, take the painkiller. I’ll come in the morning,” Hyunwoo added.
Jungkook nodded again. With that, Hyunwoo left the room.
Jungkook slowly stood up and closed the door. Then he locked it. He walked back to the bed and looked at the food tray.
A shaky breath left his lips. He felt dizzy. He sat on the bed, holding his head, breathing shallowly.
You are pitiful.
The words kept ringing in his mind.
“Stop…” he whispered, covering his ears tightly. But the voice only grew louder. “Stop… stop… fucking just stop,” he whispered harshly.
“Just go and die!”
The voice rang louder. That was enough.
Jungkook grabbed the nearby jar and threw it on the floor. It shattered with a loud noise. For a moment, the sound muffled everything else.
Jungkook stared at the scattered pieces with tears in his eyes.
“Please… stop,” he whispered softly, his voice full of pain. He slowly slid down beside the bed, tears flowing silently.
He kept staring at the broken glass. Seconds passed. Minutes passed. He just sat there, unmoving, staring at nothing.
He came out of his thoughts when he heard his phone ringing. Slowly, he picked it up with his left hand. It was Michael.
Jungkook sighed and hung up. But the phone rang again.
He sighed and answered the call, waiting for the other person to speak first.
“My boyyy! Why aren’t you picking up the call, huh?” Michael asked, sarcasm dripping from his voice.
“I’m not in the mood, Mike,” Jungkook said coldly.
“Oh… my bad. Anyway, your father said you shouldn’t join the mission. You’re free from work now! How do you feel? Happy?” Michael asked, every word filled with mockery.
Jungkook sighed. “If you’re done, I’m hanging up,” he said.
“Fine… By the way, just telling you your lovely appa’s warehouse was destroyed today. So he must be angry. Be careful… or you know what he does. I don’t want to punish my cute little bunny boy again,” Michael said.
Jungkook frowned when he heard him mention the warehouse. “Who did it?” Jungkook asked.
“Your appa’s lovely friends… BTS,” Michael replied.
Jungkook didn’t say anything. He just hung up the call.
“So he was angry… and he took it out on me,” Jungkook mumbled, chuckling bitterly at the end.
He sat there, staring at his bandaged hand. Then he leaned back against the bed and closed his eyes.
A silent tear slipped down his cheek. “It’s okay… I’m fine,” Jungkook whispered to himself.
But his injured hand was trembling uncontrollably. That spoke how well he truly was.

“You think this will work?” Haein asked. “It will. Trust me. Just act along,” Jin said. Haein nodded.
Just then, Jin’s phone rang. It was Jaein. “One minute,” he excused himself before answering the call.
“Nae, Jaein-ah?” Jin asked softly.
Jaein spoke quickly. “Ahhh, oppa, your maknaes are really chaotic. Jus——” She was suddenly cut off when loud voices erupted in the background.
“Ahhhh, Jimin-ahhh, you are sooo bad! You can’t do this! You are a fakuuuuu friend!” Taehyung wailed loudly.
“Ahhh, how can you say that, huh? You’re the fakuu friend!” Jimin whined back.
Jin sighed, rubbing his forehead.
“Ahhh, oppa, come fast, na! They are literally making a whole show here. Tae is crying nonstop like a toddler for nothing,” Jaein said, clearly regretting every life decision that led her to this moment.
“Ahhh, those two… wait, I’ll come in a few minutes,” Jin said before hanging up.
“Haein-ah, I’ll go get Jimin and Tae. They’re drunk. You go home safely. It’s already late,” Jin said. Haein nodded.
Jin nodded back and started walking away, but stopped when she called him.
“Jin!”
He turned back. “After tomorrow… let’s talk,” Haein said.
“About what?” Jin asked.
“About everything that you need to know, that I’ve been hiding it from you, your father hiding from you. I don’t know if this is the right time… but you need to know it,” Haein said seriously.
Jin looked at her carefully. She wasn’t joking. “Fine if you say,” Jin said. He waved at her before leaving.
She waved back. Once Jin was gone, she finally exhaled deeply. “You need to know it, Jin… I won’t hide it anymore. Even if you break, you need to know it,” Haein murmured softly.

.
.
“Ahhh, jinjja, how much did you both drink?” Jin asked with a sigh as he fastened the seatbelt for Jimin.
“Just three,” Jimin said pouting, holding up three tiny fingers.
Jin couldn’t help but chuckle at his cuteness. He then sat in the driver’s seat and started the car.
“Hyungieee… Jiminie is really sooo bad. I hate him. I won’t speak to him ever again!” Taehyung cried.
“Wae, wae? What did he do?” Jin asked. Tae sniffled and looked at Jimin.
“Don’t know… but he is really soooo bad, hyungie!” Tae cried again. “Ani, you are!” Jimin shot back.
“Ahhh, seriously…” Jin mumbled to himself, shaking his head as he drove.
Once they got home, they both were already asleep. Jin carefully laid him on the bed, making him comfortable by removing their jacket, shoes, and socks.
He covered his maknaes with a duvet and turned to leave, but stopped when he heard a faint muffled sound. He turned around.
Tae was crying in his sleep.
“Eomma… don’t go… eomma…” he mumbled, tears streaming down his face. Jin’s eyes began to glisten.
He gently placed his hand on Tae’s head, wiping away his tears.
“Kookie… I miss you… eomma… appa… hyungie…” Tae cried softly in his sleep. A tear finally slipped down Jin’s cheek.
He gently patted Tae until he slowly calmed down. Jin sighed and placed a small kiss on his forehead.
“I’m here… still with you,” he whispered softly before turning and leaving the room.
He walked toward Jungkook’s room. Jin tried the doorknob, but it was locked. He knocked on the door. No response. He knocked again.Still no response.
“Think he slept,” Jin murmured before walking to his own room. Not knowing anything.
He entered his room, removed his tie, and lay down on the bed.
He stared at the ceiling. Then he closed his eyes, feeling the weight of the day finally settling on him. A single tear slipped down his cheek.
He just lay there quietly. No more tears came. Slowly… he fell asleep.
The next morning, 4:42 AM
Jin woke up to the loud ringing of his phone. He groaned and reached for it. It was Namjoon.
He sighed and answered. “Wae?” he asked groggily.
“Hyung… come to the base right now! Kim is going crazy! He kidnapped twenty tons of nicotine overnight. This is insane, hyung!” Namjoon said urgently.
Jin’s eyes flew open. “I’ll be there in a few minutes. Track it down,” Jin said before hanging up. He quickly got ready and left the house.
Meanwhile, Jungkook
Jungkook stood on the balcony, staring at the stars. He hadn’t slept even for a minute.
He simply couldn’t. His injured hand kept burning, and the pain was unbearable. “Ahh… this is annoying,” Jungkook muttered, looking at his bandaged hand.
He suddenly heard the sound of a car. He leaned slightly over the balcony and looked toward the backyard. Jin was driving away.
“Where is he leaving this early?” Jungkook murmured, sighing. He stood there for a few minutes, his mind still hazy.
He wanted to block out all his thoughts. He needed his pills so badly. But they were with Jin. “Should I just take it?” Jungkook whispered to himself.
“What if he finds out and gets angry… ahhh, jinjja…” he muttered in frustration, ruffling his sweaty, messy hair.
He walked back into his room. The room was still a mess from the night before. He slowly began cleaning it.
His eyes landed on the shattered jar pieces on the floor. Carefully, with his left hand, he started picking them up.
Just as he was about to finish, a sharp piece of glass cut his skin. “Ahh, seriously!” Jungkook hissed softly.
He watched a drop of blood fall onto the marble floor. But he continued cleaning without stopping.
Once he finished, he went to freshen up. After a few minutes, he came out wearing an oversized black hoodie and matching black pants, the hoodie covering most of his body.
He stood in front of the mirror. His lips were slightly bleeding. His eyes were red. Faint finger marks were still visible on his cheeks.
There was also a scratch across his cheek from his father’s ring. He looked pale. A complete mess.
Jungkook took the first aid kit and gently applied ointment to the scratch on his cheek. It stung badly, and he hissed softly.
He applied ointment to his lips as well. “Just go fast… please,” he muttered while placing a small bandage over the cut.
He pulled up his hoodie cap, letting his hair fall over his face. Then he picked up his bag and put on his headphones.
He looked at himself in the mirror again. The hoodie didn’t completely hide the wounds… but it helped a little. He sighed. Then he walked out of the room.
The mansion was unusually quiet. Jungkook slowly walked down the stairs. But his mind kept screaming for the benzos. He wanted them. Badly.
He sighed and looked toward Jin’s door. It was closed. After a moment of hesitation, he gathered his courage and walked toward it. He slowly twisted the doorknob.
The room was empty. Everything inside was neatly arranged. Jungkook silently closed the door behind him and stepped inside.
He walked to the bedside table and slowly opened the drawer. Only documents and gadgets. Nothing else.
He moved to the other side table and opened the drawer.
There were more documents… and a few small things. Jungkook searched carefully.
He walked to Jin’s study table near the large window and slowly opened the drawers. They were filled with paperwork and files.
Then something caught his eye. A paper. It had several names written on it.
Jungkook frowned slightly. He didn’t understand most of the notes written there, but some of the names were very familiar.
“RM… RJ… Agust D… J-Hope…” These were well-known names. His brows slowly furrowed.
Then his eyes froze on two names.
J.M
V
Jungkook’s breath hitched. They were the secret assassins of the mafia world. No one had ever seen them. Only the dead ones.
Their names were always whispered like a mystery. They appeared rarely, almost like a blue moon. They weren’t as active as the other members, but whenever they appeared, it meant something big was about to happen.
“Why are their names here…?” Jungkook murmured. He flipped the document. The handwriting was unmistakable It was Jin’s. These were plans. Actual plans. “Block the entrance Team A: Jason, Key, Mark, Kai…”
Jungkook’s heart started pounding wildly. Suddenly, a memory flashed in his mind. “Hope right here!” Hobi’s voice from that day at their grandparents’ house.
Jungkook slowly shook his head. “No way…” he whispered. He quickly grabbed another file.
A name immediately caught his eye.
“LEE SUHO”
Jungkook froze. Slowly, he flipped open the file, almost afraid of what he might see. The first page showed Suho’s photograph. Bright. Smiling. Young and happy.
Below it was the title: FIND LEE
Jungkook gulped. He flipped through the pages. Every single page was about searching for Suho. Reports. Locations. Updates. Plans.
They were searching for Suho. They were searching for a dead body. Jungkook’s heart pounded so loudly it felt like it might burst.
He quickly closed the file and shoved everything back into place.
He grabbed a bottle of water and drank hurriedly. “It’s nothing,” Jungkook muttered to himself.
But his hands were shaking. He looked around the room. Then his eyes landed on Jin’s closet. Jungkook slowly walked toward it and opened the door.
Inside, Jin’s clothes were neatly arranged. He opened one of the drawers. His eyes widened slightly in relief when he saw his pill box. But the relief lasted only a second. His breath hitched.
Right beside it… there were photographs. Lots of them. Jungkook froze. Slowly, he put the pill box aside and picked up the photos. One by one, he looked at them.
His eyes slowly began to glisten. Suho was in every single picture. Smiling. Laughing. Standing with Jin. With Tae. With Hobi. With Yoongi. With Namjoon. With Jimin. They all looked happy together. Like a real family.
Jungkook’s fingers trembled as he picked up another photo. This time, he saw something even more shocking. His mother. Standing beside Yoona. And another woman. Jungkook recognized her immediately. Suho’s mother. And beside them… Eunwoo’s mother.
Jungkook felt his chest tighten. His breathing became uneven. “How…. How?” he whispered.
